Always a treat to watch RC ride! His style is so smooth and unmatched! Freaking love watching this. It was on my Soul id feed in the morning this morning!
I remember when Jeff Stanton joined Honda, and was to be Rick Johnson's teammate. Jeff Was quoted in saying "All I have to do is beat him once." (as a start, to keep beating Johnson). Johnson replied "A lot of people have beaten me once." (beating Johnson twice when he was on Honda was a rare thing, until Danny Storbuck landed on his wrist) A good comeback sticks in your mind for decades.
Met Emig at Loretta's in 96 he was super cool and hung out with me and my friends for a little bit. Raced with Ricky many times. I love seeing this kind of stuff.
Ive been surfin MXoN videos all day. This video is by far the best thing I have seen. GOAT, FRO daddy, I love you guys. Jeff please get rid of that annoying guy that broadcasts with you...seriously.
and id say about 75% of them were to mcgrath. i mean outside of vuillemin, windham, larocco and lusk who else even dared to come within 5 seconds of ricky? guarantee you the guy carmichael had to beat in order to win the title from his rookie year till 02 was 1 of the 4 i mentioned
Always great to see two of the greats out there again. RC looks great whipping that 4 stroke around, certainly better than he looks in that oversized suit jacket he wears while announcing races on tv. Sorry for the dig Ricky, but you abused me pretty bad at Randy and Penny's track in Fla back in the day. Never knew an 80cc kx could do what you made it do. Thanks for making it look so easy. I could do tailwhips just like you, except I land rubber side up:(
11 years later and this got recommended to me. Idk if it just the mic but damn those bikes are obnoxiously loud! Like mid 2000s blown out White Bros loud. These guys are awesome. RC better on the track than in the booth imo 🤘🏻🤘🏻
How old are you guys now ,it good to see you still riding and the fire stop kicking,I know it tough being number uno butt they still keep coming, they want to dethrone Ricky they had they're chance and they missed they re window, good to see ricky still don't mind bring on...2012 good raff...
Since my childhood, I've always had my eyes on Jeff Emig, Jeremy Mcgrath, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Kevin Windham and Ryan Dungey. All freaking fast riders back in there days, but now, so much has changed....., Emig with the splif, Bubba with pretending to be a police officer pulling people over..., turns out he pulled an off duty cop over..., just, man, wish i could watch them all forever, but man, they getting old.
you could put RC on a big red three wheeler and the result would have been the same. The bike was missing shifts? The only thing that bike was missing was a competitive rider.
If you trained for years as hard as you could and you don't need to anymore, i don't think you would want to either. you go and become as successful as he is. then you can talk.
Carmichael's the man. Emig backed out because he knew what was coming. Lol I'm pretty sure a brand-new 2012 isn't going to be having those kind of problems
Well Spoken, but seriously. Ricky raced during the "scrub" transition where Jeff didn't. Besides, Ricky would have to be older for Jeff to have a real chance. Sorry Jeff, but it was obvious. Ricky knows that DV12 was the first badass to ever scrub a jump so hard that he could look directly at the guy behind him in the air.
Emig cracks me up. He has a very subtle sense of humor. He would have beaten RC in a moto. He is in much better shape. But RC can always step it up and pull something out no matter what..he is VERY competitive. it would have been interesting to see when they got close to each other and really pushed.
The end is just to darn hilarious .. Same as always his bikes broken. Jeff your way to slow and Id bet money my sister could take you. These two are like a comedy team though and I can see why they are good friends.. Its good to have close friends like that though we all know that your best friends are few and far between
I gotta go with RC on this one. He may be alittle out of shape, but he still has all the skills and flare of a TRUE CHAMPION!!!!. and of course...A BAD ASS BIKE.
p.s. I'd like to see how you trash talkers would do out there next to these guys. My first thought when I saw RC on the track back in the 90's was " I'd better watch out that I don't hurt that little kid." That thought changed to" I'd better get off the track-that little kid's just tail-whipped over me on a step-up jump."
hahahhaa they were haulin ass did non of you see how deep that track was most of you couldnt complete a lap with out wadding the cookies!!!! now we know 95% of haters on the internet are complete goons...
Emig is in his 40's and Ricky obviously likes eating ice cream these days, but either one of them can smoke 95% of the A class riders half their age ...
these two guys are just real good buddies. love to see them back on the bike racing and teasing each other.
Always a treat to watch RC ride! His style is so smooth and unmatched! Freaking love watching this. It was on my Soul id feed in the morning this morning!
Emig didn't even look like he was trying.
I dont think he was. They both were following the script.
Party animal emig stayed in way better shape after retirement than Ricky did lol
4 strokes sound so good when they are off
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
NO ONE IN HISTORY WILL EVER BE AS GOOD AS RC
That Kawi sounds like someone taking a serious dump haha

5:05 Blue flag that lapper! Nice video! Thank you for no techno soundtrack!
Surprise cameo from James Stewart at 4:56, truly shows how much faster they were back in the day.
LOL too funny! Also did RC squeak when he laughed at the end of the video!?! too funny!!!!!
Dude! This is great... Gotta miss the old trash talk days...
There's just something very displeasing about the sound of 4-Strokes. YUCK.
To be fair the sound on this video is fucked up....
bruh I bet u can't ride and u just talk big...
Guess you don’t ride a 450?
Ahhahahah. Actually you’re right. When it’s only 2 bikes on the track is awful sounding ! Lol. 40 four strokes sounds good.
I love the squeek in the end when RC laughs xD
Met Emig at Loretta's in 96 he was super cool and hung out with me and my friends for a little bit. Raced with Ricky many times. I love seeing this kind of stuff.

There competitive spirit and rivalry is amazing I love that respect
ha ha emig "haven't you see any of his old races?" classic. I heard vCarmichael only lost 25 motocross events in his entire career. unreal
and id say about 75% of them were to mcgrath. i mean outside of vuillemin, windham, larocco and lusk who else even dared to come within 5 seconds of ricky? guarantee you the guy carmichael had to beat in order to win the title from his rookie year till 02 was 1 of the 4 i mentioned
@@dr00andrew uh does James Stewart ring a bell
@@patriccrigler7981 was talking supercross and i stopped following sx after the 2003 season
@@dr00andrew and Reed also
I read Ricky had 67 amateur titles before going pro.
amazing to see my two favorites riders again

jeff was one good rider and a difficult to pass. too bad his era was the same as the king...this will be like dungey with RV and JS7. just my opinion.
11 years later and this got recommended to me. Idk if it just the mic but damn those bikes are obnoxiously loud! Like mid 2000s blown out White Bros loud. These guys are awesome. RC better on the track than in the booth imo 🤘🏻🤘🏻
And RC did it while hauling 3-dozen donuts around :D
It wasn't just for the '99 win, it was for Emigs stupid, "east coastin" comment from this past years Vegas Supercross on live TV. Thank you RC.
Ricky lost the stay in shape battle
How old are you guys now ,it good to see you still riding and the fire stop kicking,I know it tough being number uno butt they still keep coming, they want to dethrone Ricky they had they're chance and they missed they re window, good to see ricky still don't mind bring on...2012 good raff...
what did they put the mics in the damn motor?
Erick Thor I was thinking the same thing. lol
Even with Ricky out of shape (notice how much he sits) he's still probably faster than 99 percent of us!
Honestly, i think ricky was waiting for jeff...jeff is so slow in turns
Not during his racing career.
Ricky you are starting to look like a shorter version of me but a hell of a lot faster.
good to c emig on the bike again..he was always my favorite...wat is the logo on his shirt and shroud stand for????the m looking thing??
Since my childhood, I've always had my eyes on Jeff Emig, Jeremy Mcgrath, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Kevin Windham and Ryan Dungey. rc still has it. Emig...not anymore.
This might have been entertaining if they were on 250 smokers. Sounded like a farting contest. I am so over 450's.
You don’t ride a 450 either eh
Paul Torrance kinda late on the reply but I agree anyway lol
ricky may have lost but he whipped that bike like a boss!
How come this is the first time I've seen this? This should be to the intro to the podcast show
Awesome! Gnarly track!
Emig is known for ""PULLING OFF "" ....................well somebody had to say it ..
You wanna light a fire under their asses...tell em' Jeremy McGrath is on their tale!
you could put RC on a big red three wheeler and the result would have been the same. The bike was missing shifts? The only thing that bike was missing was a competitive rider.
I watched this back in the day and thought this was real beef lmao
These are two legends riding! Show some fucken respect!
Funny that the Kawi broke down at the end even with the trash talk
It seems like it just took a couple of laps for them to get warmed up.
You know there flying when they pass up James Stewart 5:00!!!
it does not count there on 4strokes not 2strokes!!!
If you trained for years as hard as you could and you don't need to anymore, i don't think you would want to either. you go and become as successful as he is. then you can talk.
Emig looks to be in racing shape, but his cornering is novicely bad. Ricky is still ripping through the corners pretty well.
I couldnt hold a candle to eather one of them!!
You can tell Carmichael isn't really trying by a few clips when he is!!
i was giggling with excitement at the beginning of this video
Dear God, please give us back Donny Schmit and please change the sound of 4-strokes!
I told myself i was going to do homework like 15 motocross videos ago
whereis this?
i hate to see them argue, but this race is going to be awesome!
great stuff guys!!!lots of laughs!!!
yet on a bad day he would lap anyone of us commenting on this video
Carmichael's the man. Emig backed out because he knew what was coming. Lol I'm pretty sure a brand-new 2012 isn't going to be having those kind of problems
Emig is definitely in better shape, Ricky's a bit chubby now, but he has so much more natural, raw talent, in my opinion.
can i please get that go pro footage
Well Spoken, but seriously. Ricky raced during the "scrub" transition where Jeff didn't. Besides, Ricky would have to be older for Jeff to have a real chance. Sorry Jeff, but it was obvious. Ricky knows that DV12 was the first badass to ever scrub a jump so hard that he could look directly at the guy behind him in the air.
Ricky has come full circle.Hes chubby again and back racing at Loretta Lynns.Hes still badass tho
I wonder if the number 7 Yamaha was a coincidence lol js7 was on Yamaha when this came out
Emig cracks me up. He has a very subtle sense of humor. He would have beaten RC in a moto. He is in much better shape. But RC can always step it up and pull something out no matter what..he is VERY competitive. it would have been interesting to see when they got close to each other and really pushed.

Ricky is on pretty much a factory bike!!
I don't know if RC riding looks flawless when riding or emig wasn't trying
I gotta go with RC on this one. He may be alittle out of shape, but he still has all the skills and flare of a TRUE CHAMPION!!!!. and of course...A BAD ASS BIKE.
p.s. I'd like to see how you trash talkers would do out there next to these guys. Wasnt '99 the year that Emig blew the MXDN?????
Both great riders
Brilliant, RC still proper quick even tho he's turned into a little chunky munky
5:00 Emig passes a #7 yamaha!!! is this foreshadowing lol?
That was awesome. Nice vid lol.
That;s not James btw!
Fun vid, thanks for the post.
James was there LMAO. Look at the number 7 in the beginning.
probably was, their about the same speed hehehe
that's not james.
At 7:38 Emig looks so pissed, he wants to punch Ricky soooo bad. lol
rickys been eating ice cream with chocolate syrup and donuts
why does emig have shift gear and a fox helmet?
😂😂😂😂😂love these guys!
just noticed the number 7 yamaha goon at 5:00 , james stewart anyone? hahaha
Look at RC whip all around the track.... Go YOSHI!
Why they look so slow, then at the end of the video, RC turns it on. lol
hahahhaa they were haulin ass did non of you see how deep that track was most of you couldnt complete a lap with out wadding the cookies!!!! now we know 95% of haters on the internet are complete goons...
What's funny is suzukis transmissions are usually the ones with the problem, but 450s on that track 2nd, 3rd, 4th shouldn't be to bad
how many takes did it require to get one with these guys keeping a straight face lol
was there ever really any question? so funny that rc called emigs bs "his bike broke"
RC can still whip like a boss!
how big is that step up, jeeeessss
i wouldn't say its all fat he is shorter and that can make him look more chubby but i know hes still got it so thats all that matters
And you wonder why they call him the G.O.A.T!!!
i wanna see that gopro video
hahaha emig was genuinely pissed at the end
Look how deep and soft that dirt is bro. Thats why
Jeff you should've have kept your YZ 🤙
The track seems a bit rough
4:57 they flew past Bubba 😮
Emig shoulda brought a bunch of cheeseburgers and shit and started throwing them at Ricky.he woulda stood a chance then.lol
DANMM! rickys whips own!
Emig is in his 40's and Ricky obviously likes eating ice cream these days, but either one of them can smoke 95% of the A class riders half their age ...
