No racer in history in any sport has the heart for winning like RC and on top all that he's humble and really charitable to his fans. I met him and he's the same to everyone.
He was definitely the GOAT in the modern bike era, I don’t think anyone will be better than him, there were some great riders back in the twin shock era that made a statement back then but now and for the future he’s the man
If Joel Robert were in his prime it would have definitely been close. Joel was a MONSTER on a bike. Remember the movie Rocky Balboa where a computer pitted Rocky against the current champ. Wish someone would do a simulation of RC and JR. I would bet on JR to be honest.
Yeah guys back then were better riders I think because the bikes weren’t that good , like in the early 70s they really had to know how to ride, just my thought
Just listen to how crisp it sounds when he starts it up even before it is warm. The pistop literally pops like popcorn ready to be ridden the living death out of it!
@@96cr It doesn't really matter. Healing is healing. I dislocated and broke my ankle had to have cadaver tendons and 7 years later its solid haven't had a single issue. Surgeon was just the on hand surgeon at the ER.
I don't remember the year but it was the early 2000's at the old cowboys stadium I was there lol. Idk no if it was the first time Ricky beat McGrath but he did that night. Crazy
This dude had it for a few more years if bubba wasn't there pushing the level I don't think he would have went out in 07 he was only 27 he deff 3-4 years left
Nothing like the sound of a two stroke going through the woops. True! Only thing close is one going off Larocco's leap Hi! I'm just copying like an ass hole someone else saying just like someone else copied it off of them!
Looking back & remember allll of this... we never pushed that p.e.d .'s.... we knew what albin was doing... ether way... years have passed! Ricky snagged it
Ricky, only your Suzuki is the best 2t, I'm a Suzuki fan through and through, but only after I sunk several thousand into it. I know this is an old interview, but Suzuki is going downhill now, unless you can afford all the Joe Gibbs parts, they're not up to par, and they won't give up the e start!!!
Suzuki has been stagnant for years and it's a shame. It's all I'll ever ride but they are truly behind the curve. Carmichael's bike although it has the name is not much of a zuke. These factory bikes are well over 100grand bikes. It's unreal what a factory bike is compared to their stock bike. Truly unreal
@@presupping4eva i Know this is a way old thread, but yes they are. Someone tried to claim Deegans bike at loretta lynn's amatuer final race. deegan brought a star yamaha to an amatuer race and there was all kinds of problems for the kid that claimed it. It was within the rules to claim another's bike. You have to pay like 2x msrp and yamaha wouldn't allow it - fought it tooth and nail to not allow it. they had engines, suspension, frames, ecu, etc. that were super expensive with parts that aren't out yet or may never be. The yamaha guys told the kid, why do you want the bike, you can't work on it and parts are not available.
Imagine someone asking you to talk about your perfect season and you have the ability to say which one ?
There will never be another!!! The GOAT for a reason

Very humble guy. True champion
What a humble man at that point in his cart

The focus and drive that it takes to win as much as he did is other-worldly.
I agree...
He gave all him self, with body and mind.
We are lucky to have witnessed RC4 riding.
He will go down in history.
In Statistics terminology, he's an outlier. But not just an outlier; he's an outlier if outliers.
"The Goat"
Nothing like the sound of a two stroke going through the woops. True! Only thing close is one going off Larocco’s leap.
So true. However I doubt a 250 2-stroke could make laroccos leap nowadays. It’s a good 30+ bigger than it use to be.
The greatest ever !!
He is all class!!
RC: nothing sounds better than a 2-stroke going through the whoop section
McGrath: hi I'm Jeremy McGrath..and I SUPPORT THIS MESSAGE
The good old days
The fact that he come back from a blown out knee and had another perfect season is absolutely insane
On a 4 stroke he had never ridden.
He probably went to the best surgeon

@@seaeff6428 maybe not at our level but i am sure at his level it meant everything
Incredible that these idiots from Honda pushed RC4 away while he was reaching his peak, DeCoster and Suzuki were smarter.

The one and only
Ricky was like jeff ward. Ward won 85 250 sx championship with a broken ankle
Dam that bike sounds good goin thru the whoops lol
Damn straight
When he took fitness serious the others would have work harder to beat him ,2 perfect seasons bad ass....
He just revived it. Guys like Bailey, Glover, and Ward were big into fitness.
