These exercises look great, I'm going to try them right away. I have a small back garden that would be perfect to lay out these lines and practice these moves. Brilliant, thanks for the likes on Instagram!
Great video, I started using Steadicam about 2 years ago and it takes a lot of practice to get good at it. These are all excellent ideas not just being confined due to quarantine, but in general. One idea to make this even better, I would have loved to see a Picture in Picture of what you were shooting while you were practicing.
If you haven't seen 1917 yet, you really should. Its so beautiful and tragic at the same time, but was also made to look like one continuous shot with steadicams and cams on wires. Is really quite amazing. Thanks for sharing SteadiRed.
Hi Red I'm an Italian boy who adores cinema, I would like to become as good as you, but in Italy there are no state film schools, only paid ones and they cost a lot of money without giving you a guarantee of being able to work in cinema. thanks for these videos, you virtually make me feel closer to the cinema.
I feel your pain with that. I have found that the information you would need can be found on youtube. if you spent a lot of time working on it you could be justy as far as a lot of the students that graduate from those schools. At the same time work hard to get any job on a set, most likely a PA, and you would be on your way.
Hey SteadiRed, I'm just starting out and these videos have been a huge help. Been using these exercises to get trained up while quarantine is still on. Thanks so much for putting them together and I hope to see more in the future!
Going to add these to my training with the new M-2 Rig.. i'm still balancing it, was burning me out in 5 min but with a few adjustments it's gotten much better to hold longer. Still some pressure on my lower sides but hopefully i'll figure that out soon. I figure the exercise should help in conditioning. Any additional tips would be great!
Hi Red, I am so obsessed with Steadicams. I'm looking at buying an older light weight model called "the Pilot" Its a Tiffen model. Is there a job market for these skills especially if you have your own Rig? I can tell this is what you do for a living and it has to be a dream come true. Any pointers for someone who wants to go in the direction of Being a professional operator...not just steadicams but all the various types of gear like cranes, Gimbals, Dolly tracks, cable cams, focus pulling, Car Mounting/Rigging, All of those type things?? Is Going to a School necessary or can a good demo Reel that shows your abilities and experience get you working? Keep more coming. I would like to Here more about the different Stances you mentioned in this video.
Hey Steve! Thanks for watching my video. I know the Pilot and there definitely is a market for it. It will limit you in what jobs you can take because the cary weight is limited on the rig but it is still a great way to start, learn how to use a steadicam and to find out if its a job you want to pursue further. You do not need to go to college to do this job. The most important thing is having the skills to do the job and knowing the people that need someone to do it. College however is a great way to start with both of these things. my next video will talk more about the stances! 😀
@@SteadiRed Awesome Thanks for the reply. Is the Competition for Gigs real bad? Is there a line of Steadicam operators at every job that you have to compete with? hmmmm...Very excited. Well I look forward to learning more from you in future videos. Thanks again for the reply. I'm stoked.
SteadiRed sorry man.... didn’t mean to go into the darkness but being real with the possibilities. Well I’m sure ur ahead of that competition. Not gonna let that discourage me. I was already sure of it. I used to teach guitar lessons for a living and could barely pay my rent yet I can’t remember a better time in my life. I make great money now doing Heating and cooling but all I think about all day is making better videos.
@@lethinh282 it kind of depends on if you know people that are looking for someone your your skills and gear. if not, there are ways to meet them but it is tuff and theres a lot of competition.
I think you mean from tango to idol . Tango is then the camera is pointed over your right arm and idol is when it's pointed to your left. but theres also switches from Don Juan to standard (or missionary)
came for the tips, stayed for the humor, and subscribed for the vibes!! learning so much from your videos!! thank you :)

What HDMI converter do you use to be able to put a smaller camera on your Steadicam and how do you power the converter?
adorama.rfvk.net/AJWD7
i power it from the camera with the usb but, you could also power it with dtap.

pretty much every job in the film industry has a lot of competition. 😞

When u used the volt everything it’s looks so easy right?!
Actually im not useing the volt.
SteadiRed How many opportunities to join the film industry with new camera/steadicam operator?!

SteadiRed my country only 3 guys had their gear. U can try looking jobs in the international.
SteadiRed sr, u can give me more information about ur cage?! I’m looking for this from longtime, it’s available in store online.
Where's a good place to find practice cage?
email Steadijan@hotmail.com she makes them😁
A PIP of the roll during the exercise alongside will do better explanation.
thanks! I started doing it that way but it was so much work to sync up all the video that i got sick of it.
@@SteadiRed as always, definitely hard work, thanks, keep rolling.
gr8 work bro if you can make a review video for your steadicam gear and it's price please?
Its hard to review. I would have to spend a tun of time with another rig of the same level to see the differences and that doesn't really come up.

This is great information. Do you still practice even though you are clearly competent?
