okay those a pretty cool changes! I think I can make good use of these. tbh I didnt really consider them problems, but these still seem like great qol additions :)
I am so confused between krita, Gimp and affinity designer. Can you clarify something that which is best for what purpose as per your knowledge. Atleast tell what is the scope of krita- vector/raster, better brush/paint workflow than photoshop or not.
First, all three of these programs are different. Krita is primarily for illustration, GIMP photo editing, and affinity designer for vector work. All three have similar features and capabilities, but that doesnt mean they're all pro at each one. Affinity Designer would be the best for vector because that is what its built for. GIMP is the photo editing alternative to photoshop.
@@JustCallMeInsane if krita has vector layers and all vector tools than what is limiting it to use for illustration. Also Affinity has both vector and pixel persona than how it is different from Krita as well which has both function by pixel and vector layer. The UI of GIMP is very clunky so I don't have its enough experience, can krita do basic image editing functions as well apart from drawing and painting work.
@@rajendrameena150 krita is an illustration program. Yes, you can do vector in it, but if you want a vector system I'd recommend using affinity designer. Its specifically built for that. I'm not sure what the question is? I personally always recommended to use another program for specific vector work (text, layout, etc).
i lost an entire day worth of work because I accidently hit that thing and could not get my work back. i had to close everything without saving. my entire screen was covered in lines.
@@JustCallMeInsane the problem was I could not detach the pen from the lines it was creating and my entire screen was covered with the grey screen and flashing lines. Tried for hours. A had zero options to click except the x to close the entire program without saving
@@StyleMasterSteve you go to the pen tool, then tool options and turn off snap to assistants. It's possible you also had a bug, but it's hard to say what happened. Krita does have an autosave function though, so if you ever encounter a weird bug, use the autosave file to recover lost work.
Thanks for explaining.
So glad they put in that lock. I had the same problem you did. Cheers!
Agreed - best upgrade ever XD
Well I guess I found my answer. Question about the ruler not restricting mouse movement still stands. Any idea why that’s happening?
Did you go to brush -> tool options -> check snap to assistants?

I have a habit of moving them by accident a lot 🤣🤣
Thank you for checking it out!!
@@JustCallMeInsane ey no problem! Was curious to see how the assistants changed, even if I might not need said changes haha

@@JustCallMeInsane you mean to say krita is best for raster drawing with basic vector functionality.
@@rajendrameena150 yes.

You can just hit the brush tool or delete the assistant tools. They're not permanent

I honestly have no idea what I did to cause it and how to back out of that set up next time.
