They're so good! You can buy them dried and cook them yourself, or buy them in a can. I prefer canned because it's so much quicker. They're always good with mashed potatoes too!
We had black eyed peas, green beans, cornbread, and mashed potatoes. I don’t eat meat myself but my husband also smoked a very small brisket. LOL it shrank so much he joked that it was a “petite brisket”. 😂
I made a pound of black eye peas with smoked hog jowl, turnip greens with the same hog jowl and cornbread. My 19yo loves black eye peas so I froze portions for her and she can nuke em when she wants some. Mama always took leftover biscuits and buttered them and some she added sugar and browned em.
We had our traditional lucky New Year’s dinner: Black-eyed peas Cornbread Sauerkraut Pork (spiral-cut ham) And mashed potatoes to hide the sauerkraut in. 😂😂
I made beef veggie soup and appetizers. My 2025 goals are to live out of my pantry/freezer for as long as it takes to get through it all or at least know what’s in there! I have three freezers and they’re out of control! Your channel is perfect for my goals. In fact, you inspired me!
Ohhh, we love beef veggie soup! It's a favorite around here in the winter months, with some homemade cornbread❤️Working through freezers can be an awesome challenge. I usually just pull stuff out of the freezer, pantry and fridge and start putting meals together on the countertop. I write them down as I go so I don't forget! You can do it!!!❤️
I don’t remember what I had for New Year’s dinner, but it was not the traditional meal. I will have a good year because I am covered by God’s Grace. ❤ I also don’t set resolutions. My short-term goal is to purchase land to build my dream home; and my long-term goal is to build my dream home, of course, get my D.Div, and start a nonprofit organization for women/girls suffering with chronic depression. ❤
What a great idea with the biscuits.
They were so good!
We had corned beef brisket, black-eyed peas, fried cabbage withonions, mixed greens, roasted potatoes, and cornbread.
