  • My friend Colby sent me a box of games his buddy got at an Estate Sale that were super dirty. He didnt have a N64 to test them and didnt want to just get rid of them, so he sent them to me so I can try and bring them back to life.

      looking back on it I should have left it on ha. Early youtube retro game collecting is was all about cleaning the carts.

      thanks I got this one a long time ago. Short story I actually sold my n64 and all my games to buy a PS4 after I played the game Until Dawn at a friends house.
      Its my least favorite Nintendo system I say.
      This one got traded into the game shop when I worked there and they couldn't get it to work so the custom said you can just have it. It has some cracks on it, but it totally works. I just need to find a matching controller

    If a game is real bad, I like using a little braso and a scotch-brite pad (one of the red ones, but green will work too) and it cleans them like a boss.

    • @RoXolid
      @RoXolid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do not use Brasso, use Brite Boy. Brasso is an abrasive, Brite Boy is not. Also, Brite Boy does not leave the residue behind that Brasso does.

    • @The90sAreRad
      @The90sAreRad 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RoXolid I've used brasso for years and it's worked perfectly fine. You just have to clean it with IPA and you'll be ok.

    • @RoXolid
      @RoXolid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@The90sAreRad Brasso is an abrasive, meaning that as you use it you are removing more and more of the pin. It also leaves a chalky residue behind, even if you don't see it it is there. For years I have raced RC cars and trucks featuring motors you can't open to clean and service. We tried Brasso and what we found was that it inhibited current flow, reducing RPM, torque and power in the motors. We also saw an increase in wear between the motor's commutator and brushes and excessive pitting. When we discovered Brite Boy we found that it cleaned the brass that made up the commutator better, it flushed out of the motors better, and we saw performance was either maintained OR improved.

    Who smacks a game and then pounds it into the system? You wonder why the banjo game isnt working. You're rough with all this classic stuff, seems like you have zero care with straight up spraying the entire cartridge board, rubbing like crazy with a towel, using erasers like its good idea, all you did was half a$$ rough clean everything and handled nothing with care. Anyone watching this video i recommend not doing what this guy did cause you'll end up just ruining your stuff
