I will say her novel was interesting because she was from a mad max type planet. It's a shame the novel author was far more talented than the writers of the sequel movies they used Phasma in 😂
It's also a shame that no matter what some lesser sourrces authors do with Phasma, Disney will keep reducing her to self preserving coward and nothing else.
Ya they made him way weaker. Most of the reason he lost to kanobi is because he got his ribs force crushed while stealing palpatine. This made The fight much harder for him. It also caused him to lose the fight because if his ribs where not already damaged he wouldn’t of been able to rip them open meaning grievous would of won. So idk why Ashoka stood a chance
Grievous is like Dr. Eggman in the recent IDW Comics. He's been on a bender recently to remind us that he's only seen as a wheezing coward because his nemesis regularly breaks the laws of physics with his totally not bullshit space mind magick. *Especially* in that new Tales of the Empire series. *Holy Christ* every scene with him was a metal album cover.
Which is actually George Lucas. Shows how creative he is to have been dealing with a pretty serious disease like Bronchitis and record the coughing for a future character.
To be fair star wars lore had mentioned droid smiths considering equipping organs/parts from force sensitive to see if they could give a droid force abilities too.
His animated introduction was unnerving. He wasn’t a mere warrior; he was an apex predator. No boasting, no quips, not a single word. He lied in wait and dispatched them one by one.
"I thought Grievous was a droid" My guy, he's coughing. In Ep3 Obiwan shot his remaining body. Also, because of presentation of the clone wars, i choose to lean towards the interpretation that the show is some sort of personal recollection of someone, possibly Yularen instead of objective presentation of the reality. After all Grievous was treated as ruthless, relentless threat in every single lore source except for TCW. His light saber collection was counted in hundreds. He was an assassin in a position of a general. And he was so brutal to make CIS look barbaric to people in the Republic. He was turned into main threat to the peace and stability of the galaxy. And it worked so well, his stigma carried even onto Rebellion
The idea that the experiment on Grievous was a test run before being changed and refined for Vader is such good writing and awesome storytelling, this man was an absolute legend and the manipulation he had to endure must have been insufferably cruel and evil
It should also be said how they fumbled Grievous in the clone wars. When describing him they somehow came to 'Saturday night mustache twirling villian' conclusion. The show up, do dastardly deeds, does his spinning move, gets beaten, somehow evades permanent capture.
That’s exactly how he was in rots, they were just keeping him consistent with George’s vision of the character

@@D3viant517 no? Even the premise puts him as a very dengerous character, saying how he suddenly came and captures the most important person in the galaxy
Casual reminder that because Revenge of the Sith showed Grievous and Anakin's first meeting, The Clone Wars show had to spend 7 seasons meticulously making sure that the two never bumped into each other a single time over the span of 3 years' worth of battles, even when they appeared in the same episode. Heck, even if they were in the same general area, they would always just barely miss each other because of random chance, like doors shutting and cutting off pathways, or an unlucky escape pod malfunction that made Anakin veer off course while Obi-Wan landed right in front of Grievous, ect. The fact that they were not only super committed to preserving continuity, but even made a running joke out of it, really shows how much love and care was put into TCW.

17:05. No. Greivous is coughing throughout Episode 3, because Mace Windu used Force Crush on his chest. You can see it in the Clone Wars animation (the animation that looks like Samurai Jack).
This video didn't even mention how the entire military doctrine used by the Droid Army was designed by Greivous once he was revealed to the galaxy. Prior to that, the Confederacy just used their own individual doctrines but once General Greivous took over he had to completely overhaul the entire CIS military doctrine half a year into the war. @@Fang1st No argument about '03 being the most threatening, I just happen to like how refined his *latest* iteration is and I do find Grievous' TCW voice to be more threatening then the quietness of the '03 original.
Grievous did not like the Jedi originally because he wanted to be one, but he was not Force Sensitive and so was refused training. Jedi did not genocide the Khalee, they made them sign a peace treaty with Hux who attacked them. Which went against warrior honor culture of Khaleesh. As for his shuttle crash, Grievous would have survived it. They injured him further to make him agree to the cybernetics. He made them swear his mind will not be affected, but they altered him to be without remorse or pity anyway. During battle of Geonosis he hunted clone commandos in the catacombs and survivors never knew what attacked them. And it was not an Admiral that communicated with Grievous above Coruscant, it was Captain Needa, the same one who was later executed by Vader when he apologized for letting Millennium Falcon escape.

@D3viant517 The microseries explained why. Mace Windu crushed his ribcage and seriously injured his lungs. Grievous was most likely dying but definitely severely injured. In ROTS, Grievous almost killed Obi Wan whereas in TCW he couldn't even beat Ahsoka.
See, Nux, there are two Grievouses. We have Gigachad Grievous from Clone Wars 2003 and Bitch Grievous from the rest of the franchise, when Lukas changed his mind about wanting Grievous to be an impotent mustache twirling villain. The fan series Star Wars vs Warhammer 40k does him proper justice.

General Grievous is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, he is the Count Dracula to Vader being Frankenstein's monster. Grievous's mask even looks like it could be a skeletal Bat-face, but also his story has some similarities to the true historical tale of Vlad the Impaler, being a terrifying freedom fighter for the kingdom of Wallachia caught between Hungary and the Ottoman Empire.
Here's another cool, albiet messed up fact. Grievous's Starfighter is canonically named "The Soulless One." Which if you recall, the huk that invaded kalee, were called "soulless ones". He names his primary starfighter after the enemies that tried to enslave his people. It's also doubly ironic, as the kalee wouldn't have been able to travel the stars without taking over the huk's slave ships and using them against the huk.
One of the very few issues i have with star the clone wars wars is how they turned greivous into an absolute goober. The man was terrifying in the tartovsky version of clone wars. Man killed shaggy in 1 hit

"Who is Thrawn?!" The only man capable of taking the dreggs of post Palpatine Empire, and turning it back into a ferocious, fighting force. The only one who could look Vader in the eyes, and never flinch. To know how to subdue a planet, by merely studying its peoples' art. Mind your heretical tongue, apostate. You know not know the true power of our lord Shaggy, may he zoinks forever.
Nux not watching "Another Lightsaber to my Collection" meme video in this video is such a loss xD
This is why Lucas StarWars is best, you dont see people make a "Full story of Captian Phasma" you know the person who stood around and did nothing but be shiny until she was vented into space. Fembossed herself into the void.
Who?
If I may pull out my grievous impression real quick…. *cough cough* Boba Fett *cough cough*
@@elcambiollego She was the Chrome Stormtrooper Mandalorian wanabe from the first Disney movie.

Same bro he was probably the best strategist in the sepertists.

@@swampboyblack5628 hate how in the clone wars its very toned down to the point of even ashoka being able to fight him off
Ya they made him way weaker. Most of the reason he lost to kanobi is because he got his ribs force crushed while stealing palpatine. This made The fight much harder for him. It also caused him to lose the fight because if his ribs where not already damaged he wouldn’t of been able to rip them open meaning grievous would of won. So idk why Ashoka stood a chance
same dude *sigh* same 😓
grievous clone wars 2003 and doom music. a very good fit.
Look up warhammer 40k vs star wars That grievous is awesome He has returned
That series I highly recommend
I need to see the Thrawn reaction, Bro was the Imperial Navy's GOAT
Grievous is like Dr. Eggman in the recent IDW Comics.
He's been on a bender recently to remind us that he's only seen as a wheezing coward because his nemesis regularly breaks the laws of physics with his totally not bullshit space mind magick.
*Especially* in that new Tales of the Empire series. *Holy Christ* every scene with him was a metal album cover.
Eggman Hulk-Smash'ed Starlight...
Both do pullout guns as a last resort
"I thought he was a droid."
what droid do you know that has a cough bro
Which is actually George Lucas. Shows how creative he is to have been dealing with a pretty serious disease like Bronchitis and record the coughing for a future character.
What droid do you know who has creepy, reptilian eyes? 🤔
Can't believe you thought grevious was a droid he has organs lol
Once you think one thing even if it's incorrect, it can take over your perception as reality.
To be fair star wars lore had mentioned droid smiths considering equipping organs/parts from force sensitive to see if they could give a droid force abilities too.
@@ryanhernandez5632 to be fair no one he just watches star wars movies would never know that
His animated introduction was unnerving. He wasn’t a mere warrior; he was an apex predator. No boasting, no quips, not a single word. He lied in wait and dispatched them one by one.
"I thought Grievous was a droid"
My guy, he's coughing.
That Jedi padawan that looks like Shaggy is actually named Sha’a Gi
Time to check out if there's lore of this guy!
It should also be said how they fumbled Grievous in the clone wars. When describing him they somehow came to 'Saturday night mustache twirling villian' conclusion. The show up, do dastardly deeds, does his spinning move, gets beaten, somehow evades permanent capture.
Yeah it sucks they screwed him up, he had good moments yet he was downgraded but the comics does a decent job to mix the two views on him iirc
That’s exactly how he was in rots, they were just keeping him consistent with George’s vision of the character
@@D3viant517 no? Even the premise puts him as a very dengerous character, saying how he suddenly came and captures the most important person in the galaxy
2003 grievous was an absolute Beast!
The legends versions of the clone wars villains have some of the best backstories in all of Star Wars.
General Grievous is one of the greatest Star Wars characters ever
Oh, another thing Nux should watch is the original cut version of Grievous' and Obi-Wan's battle.
So many dead clones...
Even though both grievous and annakin got cybernetics, annakin had it worse because his experience was slow and painful, he slowly burned and had surgery while AWAKE, grievous experience was quick and he was probably asleep while they did his surgery. Annakin experienced wasn’t “butterflies and rainbows”
I love watching Nux react and reach (Sometimes a bit hasty) conclusions and just thinking: Oh it gets better
“Frankly I find the idea of a bug that thinks offensive.”
-Grievous justification for genociding the Huck.
General Grievous was my favorite character even before I knew his lore. So glad to see you learn of this kickass cyborg!
Theres actually a sort of tribute chamber in Greivous's lair with a statue of him pre-cyber augments and old kalee masks in the clone wars cartoon

"Who the hell is Thrawn?!" *spits out my drink*
One of the best minds in all Star Wars. You need to make a video for him.
Bro needs to watch the 2003 grievous vs Jedi, Anakin vs ventress, and yoda vs droid army NOW!!!
2003 grevious was a horror movie villan (created off a lone pic with no idea of how he behaves) 2005 + grevious is the muctashe twirling villan (how george intended)
ANOTHER WONDERFUL ADDITION TO THE NUXA LORE COLLECTION *COUGHCOUGHTURBURULOSISNOISES*
To do the greivous voice, you gotta pretend you’re struggling for air. Bc of what Mace did to his chest cavity
General grievous remains one of my favorites in star wars
We HAVE too get Nux too cover the entire life of Dooku
Just as Grevious used lightsabers to kill Jedi, Nux will use good Star Wars stories to kill Disney
Nux when he finds another good Star Wars story better than the Acolyte: "Ah yes. Another fine addition to my collection"
Grand Admiral Thrawn is such a goated character. I wouldn't call him more manipulative than sidious, but he's extremely tactical, no BS kinda guy. He also doesn't fall for stupid traps or do dumb shit like announcing his plans. He's extremely intelligent and effective.
17:05. No. Greivous is coughing throughout Episode 3, because Mace Windu used Force Crush on his chest.
You can see it in the Clone Wars animation (the animation that looks like Samurai Jack).
Not to mention after that he didn't recover so we never saw a peak grievous to be honest.
The 2003 clone wars is an underated classic.
37:07 that jedi survived
his species is really good at doing a possum impersonation
he does it a lot durring the war
"A fine addition to my collection, this will be..." -general grevious in a yoda voice
General grevious story is super interesting and sad, but also is a great villain and very awesome and badass in my opinion.
35:05 This Jedi is literally called Sha'a Gi and is actually inspired by Shaggy from Scooby-Doo lol
"i never thought XXX character had lore this deep" (Famous SW newcomer words)
"Hello there"
"General Kenobi."
"You _are_ a bold one."
"I'm sick of these m************ droids on this m************ ship". - Mace Windu
I always love it when he asks the question directly before the answers
This video didn't even mention how the entire military doctrine used by the Droid Army was designed by Greivous once he was revealed to the galaxy.
Prior to that, the Confederacy just used their own individual doctrines but once General Greivous took over he had to completely overhaul the entire CIS military doctrine half a year into the war.
Man was a genius military leader, on par with Admiral Ackbar and Grand Admiral Thrawn
he genuinely is, too.
General grievous is one of my absolute favourite Star Wars characters and he’s Always been my favourite even since I was a kid
Hell yeah, Grievous time! The animated pre-movie series had him at his best! And The Clone Wars series sorta had him at his worst, but still love him.
RotS had him at his worst imo, he only lost, ran, and died. At least in 08' CW he won battles and in some instances was smarter than the Jedi.
@@Augment_Failure Tru, I'm just remembering him constantly running away and twisting his non-existent mustache as well as losing to the Jar-Jar gang. Obviously TCW series based Grievous on RotS, so they're very similar. As long as we can agree the Pre-Movie Grievous is goated.
Grievous wanting to be a jedi is a new lore, if I'm not mistaken. This video seems to be based on old pre Disney lore.
Mate, thats new things; Go see that the video that Nux saw is of lore of 9 years ago
Jedi supported Evil empire there.and ruined Kallee by gigantic reparations.not first or last time when they Been baddies.see 1st Jedi schism or General stratus
Grand Admiral Thrawn is and will forever be my favorite Empire/Post High Republic character.
Dude got done so dirty by Disney sadly.
At long last: General Grievous's time to shine. I am so excited for this!
“You must realize, you are dooomed”
“Oh I don’t think so” *force yoink*
Nux would love the old 2D clone wars specials; the ones made by the samurai jack guys
Nux is on the long road to become to the one and only lore master
They did Grievous dirty in the clone wars tv series and movie. OG Grievous was baller as fuck....
The movie was fine because the microseries explained his condition.
@@tk-6967Nah movie grievous was still a loser, arguably more so than his 2008 clone wars self
@D3viant517 The microseries explained why. Mace Windu crushed his ribcage and seriously injured his lungs. Grievous was most likely dying but definitely severely injured.
But I heavily disagree with the idea that film Grievous was worse than TCW. In TCW, Grievous was a complete moron and a wimp.
I remember seeing somewhere that, to prevent the Jedi from just picking him up with the Force, Grievous’ clawed feet can grip whatever floor he’s standing on to keep him planted.
His feet also have a magnetic plate on the bottom
His story gets even more tragic. When you realize that grievous was just the prototype for darth vader.
That's Sidious' MO. Gaslight, divide, conquer, exploit, and finally discard. People are just the inconvenient wrappers that power comes in, and once you get what you need out of them, you throw them away.
Groucho Marx: "Just like my ex wife!"
0:16 well yeah at the end of the war, bro went off all of clone wars against almost all his opponents
Man was trained by DOOKU!!!
Form VII Ju’yo (not sure if spelling is correct) is actually FORBIDDEN by the Jedi and is only allowed by very few if ever! The raw aggression and pure power of the form is deemed as dangerous to them if I recall
Fun fact, that Shaggy looking Jedi is actually named Shaa’Gi. Seriously.
In truth, Grievous was more of a victim more then anything. I feel so sorry for him. I hope he's resting in peace, along with his beloved, his fallen soldiers, and his ancestors. Jedi scum! 😢
General Grievous still one of my all-time favourite characters and the man's design alone is so kick ass and sick
And so, in the end, Grievous fell to his own weapon.
7:31 it was at moment that nux realised exactly what he was dealing with here
Nuxanor: is surprised when the cartoonishly evil villains indeed turn out to be extremely petty and evil.
Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing someone awaken to how awesome a mishandled character truly is.
It also pains me immensely due to the character being mishandled in the first place, like, really what the fuck why?!
This is the beauty of legends! It felt like a living, breathing world! You had plot points happening simultaneously with the movies! Grievous observing his future rival, a Jedi knight pursuing him through the catacombs, and so on! And Disney can hardly do anything this amazing! And THIS was the kind of politics people wanted! That’s which drove the story of the world, not one-sided woke extremist agendas that half or most of the fans can’t support!
Fear & surprise are Grievous's best weapon. Most Jedi can actually deal with him with a strong Force push, he isn't a Force user he can't defend against it. He fight by surprise, suddenly appear next to them, forcing a melee fight that his weird, hard to predict movement has the upperhand, fear cloud the Jedi mind. He had a really hard time against Jedi that weren't afraid of him
My brother in christ, how have you NEVER heard that Grievous was a cyborg?
21:16 others have made the observation that Palpatine’s subordinates in the prequels are reflections of Vader:Maul the enforcer,Dooku the fallen Jedi,Grevious the cyborg
nux finally learning what general grievous name means
General Grievous is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, he is the Count Dracula to Vader being Frankenstein's monster. Grievous's mask even looks like it could be a skeletal Bat-face, but also his story has some similarities to the true historical tale of Vlad the Impaler, being a terrifying freedom fighter for the kingdom of Wallachia caught between Hungary and the Ottoman Empire.
Geetsly does have a video covering all the lightsaber forms.
Shaggy must have been using less than 0.0001% of his power at that moment
@@vladprus4019 nah greivous just that strong
I already grew up with partial/basic knowledge of the Star Lores, but I've always been curious about General Grievous, he seems like an appealing character yet I researched nothing of him. I think it's time I shed myself some light on the character.
General Grievous is the best Star Wars antagonist!! In my opinion anyway
"Who is Thrawn?!"
The only man capable of taking the dreggs of post Palpatine Empire, and turning it back into a ferocious, fighting force. The only one who could look Vader in the eyes, and never flinch. To know how to subdue a planet, by merely studying its peoples' art. Thrawn is a being who, I wholeheartedly believe, if he had been on the throne instead of Sidious, could have crushed the Rebellion before it had a chance to rise! That. Is. THRAWN.
