During the lockdown I went a little crazy with buying patterns and fabrics including several blouses which I've since decided are too dressy/formal for my lifestyle. Two of them are The Blouse by The Avid Seamstress and the Ermine by Fibre Mood. I'm just finishing the Ermine and like you I'm wondering when I'm going to wear it. But I've decided that if I wear it with jeans it won't look too dressy. Time will tell of course! Looking at yours I think the same is true about when you'll wear it. With jeans it will look 'smart' casual but with smart trousers or skirt in black it'll look sufficiently dressy without being OTT if you go for a drink or a meal with your husband. I don't think it matters if you don't wear it frequently but do try to wear it sometimes as it looks really nice on you.
Thank you yes I think that’s a good plan to try blouses with jeans for a not too dressy look, I’d like to try that more too 😊

I loved this video! I like how thoughtful you are being. You described how I feel about blouses. I love to make them, but don't actually wear them as much as I think I will. I think it is about more than style, at least for me. I think it takes a bit more effort to wear the blouses, or perhaps I fall into a habit of reaching for the jersey garments. Either way, this video was inspirational for me. I love all your garments. It was good to see them, as I've watched you from the beginning of your channel, and I remember them all from when you first made them! I'm looking forward to your next video. I also enjoy the bits of video showing places you go.

I've just bought the Avid Seamstress Blouse pattern after eying it up for aaaaages - and I managed to get it second hand with the money going towards charity ☺️ can't wait to give it a go x
