checkin back in on this video because Jonathan, owner of Jovenal Autoworks mentioned a few of you have decided to check out his shop so THANK YOU for name dropping the channel!! that's HUGE and helps push more collaborations! msg me on IG and I'll buy you a beer 🤙🏼
yeah seriously! Jonathan is a young guy too and his story is actually super rad so we gotta do a follow up on that next time what's your go-to shop in the bay?
Love going to Jovenal Autoworks and he's been taking care of all of my cars and family cars since day one. The only mechanic I trust for my S2000, Integra, and M3. I'm glad to see your S2000 is getting taken care of by him as well! I actually also had my AC compressor replaced by him too lol but it was for when I had to replace the whole AC system. Great video as always!
My s2 ac compressor grinded and shot metal shards in my lines. Ended up doing an entire ac delete and replacement. They offered me 4 seasons compressor too but I went with Honda Kehin
Infinite Motion in San Marcos. Gavin tracked and repaired his S2000 for almost 10 years. Also had about 300K miles on it. Rebuilt my S2000 when it dropped a valve
Thanks for the reminder to check the AC on my S2k. I hardly use AC. I've owner the car for 2 years and I may have turned it on once twice per year just to see if it is still blowing cold as I usually only drive around with the top down.
I hear you, I'm definitely a windows down person but sometimes you need the AC but in this case it was just a mechanical thing I wanted to be right for my OCD
@@jaelnava_ OCD, yep I get it. Coming from a guy who insisted H logo on all wheels lined-up with valve stems when I put on new tires last year. I did it again last week with the Acura center cap on my Integra.
@@marcperras9072 ahaha love it, I'm the same way almost to a fault really looking forward to exercising the same OCD effect on the exterior but lots of driving coming up so its hard to justify at the moment
Holy shlt the underside of that car is so clean, I’m in Ireland and have an English I’m S2000 it’s crusty as fvck, it’s that bad next winter I’m going to have to strip the full suspension and subframe get them sand blasted and powder coated yo make it look some way respectable plus weld parts of the floor
I couldn't imagine dealing with stuff like that, we're lucky out here in california but we pay our dues in other ways haha how often do you need to maintain the chassis to keep it from rusting?
@@jaelnava_ I prefer background noise vs music, but that’s just me. I feel like every video I watch has the same dmca- free music so it’s refreshing to see a video like this
@@Lybb_teteo I honestly feel you on that one so thank you for sharing, as the creator its tricky because we wanna believe the music kinda helps set the vibe and pace but takes a ton of effort to source and its definitely not free contrary to popular belief... making sure the sounds are on point is hard its its own way but I think adds to the authenticity of the production so I'm glad you agree
Johnathan is such a cool dude! The way he shows you how he work and how he think and diagnose the issue. That's the type of mechanic I wouldn't mind spending money to support. I have a shop in my town called HD Imports that specialized in Honda and Acura that I go to in the past. They do walk you through the problem you have, but I wish they let you shadow the mechanic like Johnathan.
@@ducducgoose its rad that you even have someone to go to period but yeah absolutely, people like Jonathan are hard to find so hope you're ready to see more videos with him around ahah where are you located?
@@ducducgoose dang! cool to know there's support like that even in small towns I would love to keep making videos just like this one but 1) that requires things to break 2) Jonathan isn't free so I'm excited to recreate stuff just like this but maybe with some buffer in between ahah

Looks I like you’ve lucked in with that shop. He cares about doing it right, nice to see you back.
you're right! thanks for tuning back in Wayne and thanks for commenting, excited to bring more consistent updates going forward
Wow shoutout to Jovenal Shop. So dope to have a good shop to go to for outsourced maintenance. Good to see the content back

What a great guy you've found 👍👍, it's fantastic when technicians explain what they're doing.

in my case the OEM was just out of budget :( but a few local guys had good experiences with the 4S compressor so only time will tell

what a cool guy. ur video production is great too. I'm subbing!
Super cool and knowledgable mechanic!
you know it! any solid techs in your area?
Another local shop is Infinite Motion. Not sure if you ever looked them up but they’re local here in San Marcos. They work on S2000’s almost daily.
word, I'll have to check them out! do you have experience w them?
Nice s2k!!! Just recently picked up an 06 gpw s2000 myself!!!!
Two questions great video. By the way did they blow out the AC lines to get any debris out of there? Also, how’s the compressor holding up?

Does Jonathan know of any great mechanics like himself out here on the northeast. I reside in PA and wouldn’t mind a two or three hour drive.
Great content & b roll. Keep it up!

All of a sudden when the belt rips I see this after it's fixed lmao
Why did the condenser needed replacement? And what is the mileage On the car ?
