    I know everyone has already said this but Lee you have put out one of the best comparisons between a home built and a ready to go like this new one is. You can do the same thing with a homebuilt using a $10 lidar sensor. You'll have the same issues you would with the Avata in that if you fly over a couch or table, the drone will want to climb. There might be a way to deal with that in Betaflight on the homebuilt.

    Man, I had my first commercial shoot yesterday with the Avata, from a professional perspective super easy to control the ND / ISO. Since your goggle feed is close to your shot footage.
    Okay with the action cam you get to know the situations, but especially when a golden hour or near sundown, it's iffy using ND's, I had zero issues with it yesterday.

      Even though I have plenty of my own builds, I'd still take the DJI FPV over the avata if I could only have one. Fortunately, I can eventually have both, so I'll likely buy the avata with flymore used in a few months like I did with the FPV. Very fair review and considerations. One other thing that you didn’t mention, probably because you won’t use it currently is the head tracking. I know you have to use it with the other remote, but I recently saw another person using it on a fly through and it was pretty good. I thought it helped the video not be so linear, maybe just me. I’d love to hear your opinion, already know you’re probably like na, lol. Good video.

      Hey thanks for the feedback and watching the video. Honestly I had no intention of ever using the motions controller or the head tracking. But you bring up an interesting point about smoothing out the controls. I will give it a try to see how it feels. I do NOT intend on using this feature on any customer site but might be a good way to iron things out. I think DJI just needs to allow custom rates or at least a soft or cinema mode when flying in normal. That would be great.

    Why any beginner would choose an Avata - or a 4S FPV beast - to _learn_ on is beyond me. It takes months - if not years - to get the skills so you're not a danger to your kit, to yourself, to other people, to their property, and to household livestock. This is what brushless tiny whoops are for. Everything you learn with them - including tuning - is 100% transferable to larger, more capable craft. They're cheap compared to any DJI or digital cinewhoop, too. So, if you're interested in getting started from scratch, invest in an FPV package that's centered on a tiny whoop. Tool _that_ around for a few months before you take your DJI Avata or chonky cinewhoop out to play. You'll end up getting more bang for your buck out of the bigger rigs in the long run.

    • @AdventureFPV
      @AdventureFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% agree, I made this because I just KNOW new part 107 pilots will want to use this for their business and I wanted to show how much of an advantage starting with a proper kit would be for them. I ran a job with this yesterday as a 2nd pass and it turned out pretty good. Not as good as the whoop run but I could see it working for someone with experience. I have been seeing some CRING "one shot" videos people are putting out. Ughh Thanks for watching Bill.

      @@AdventureFPV Get good in tight spaces, the rest is a doddle. Occasionally, I'll set up a jungle gym in the living room out of tripods and other stuff. I never set it up the same way twice, either. The gate I use is only twice the diameter of the drone - gotta hit it perfect. Seeing through a forest of tripod legs to find a line takes practice. And those skills will help you move your Squirt all the better. I do recommend you yourself get a chonky boi to use. Minimum 2S, XT30 connector. The one I fly has been discontinued, and finding parts for it is getting difficult. Good thing I got 3 of 'em and plenty of spare hoops 'n' props. Factory-fresh, it's a potato.
