This man is amazing: His voice is much better today...than is was 50 years ago! Mr. Jackson has always been admired the world over. May God continue to bless him!
Chuck done went through the 60's, all of the 70's, 80's, 90's and into the 2000's with that voice!!!! Singers by now who started when he did would have shown some sign of voice loss, or just have no voice for singing altogether. But here's good ol' Chuck with his voice just as strong as ever. How is this man not a national treasure?!! Not one Disney movie made to bring awareness to this legendary voice for all generations to come!!!
You're absolutely right is singing voice is in such good shape for all those years. I love it. He's probably not a smoker. Smoking ages your voice so much I don't know why any singer with smoke at all.
I love chuck and mrs scott your husband the legendary jimmy scott was an amazing singer his timing phrasing and that heartbreak in his voice lord have mercy I met both of you at townhall in flushing queens years ago I hope this message sent to you with love finds you in good health and good spirits
Anyone who can sing at the Apollo who commands an audience in an voice with a with an awesome range doesn’t have to say a word. He speaks the language of music! This guy can warble and hypnotizes the audience. Thanks for the songs Chuck!
I first discovered this incredible singer in 1985 trough the Kent series, and have been collecting his records since. To me: the best male vocalist, ever: Period! This is astonishing to watch and listen to. How on earth does he manage to keep his voice in this shape? Amazing! What I don't quite get, is why, over the years, he changed the lyrics somewhat, to the original recording ...
Profiles in Pittsburgh Happy Blessed New Year, Chuck Jackson Vocalist and Family. My Brother Joe Parker, had Brother Chuck Jackson at the TOP of R&B!!!😙

R&B singer Chuck Jackson, who placed nearly 30 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the 1960s, died on Feb. 16, 2023 at the age of 85. Jackson was born July 22, 1937, in Winston-Salem, N.C., spent his boyhood in Latta, S.C., then settled in Pittsburgh, Pa., at age 13. Best known for his 1962 hit “Any Day Now (My Wild Beautiful Bird),” which reached #2 on the trade magazine’s R&B chart and #23 on the Hot 100. Jackson’s other popular hits included “I Don’t Want to Cry,” his first chart placement, from 1961 (#5 R&B); “I Keep Forgettin’,” a 1962 hit written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller; and “Something You Got,” a duet with Maxine Brown that peaked at #10 on the R&B chart. Chuck was inducted into the R&B Hall of Fame, and won a Pioneer Award from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation. As of now, 20 February 2023, neither the cause nor place of death have yet been revealed.
When was this? Use to listen to this guy's records on a local Washington DC soul station in the '60s. Amazing voice. Also, Burt Bacharach wrote this song, which is what brought me here in the first place.
Saw him at Charlotte Colosseum in 1962..Was first act of a big show..he was so good..8000 people and you could hear a pin drop...rest of show couldn't match him
Love being able to pick up audience chatter sometimes...take this for instance, as Chuck first comes out the buffoon says "he looks great"...then like 10 seconds later same guy says "he got old too"... Gotta love it
He may have got old, but he still looks good and that voice is still amazing!!!! Other singers his age, i.m not even sure if their voices are as powerful as his, but certainly age hasn't declined his voice any.
Chuck is an amazing singer I remember seeing him at the apollo many times he always brought the house down I still get chills when I listen to Any Day Now
Lol a lot of crazy comments here. It seems either folks have to knock this era to credit him or they are so delusional, they think his voice was better here than any time before. Yikes 😂
One of our legends, Hall of Famer love him and his music
