Hah I feel you so much on the feeling of time just getting away from us in a year. You were wise to have so few priority ones-I set a goal that I’m going to miss by approximately 10 series that I won’t have even tried yet. At least I hit a few on my high priority list-Song of Ice and Fire, Green Bone Saga, Liveship Traders, and Tawny Man. They always take longer than I think, and then random mood reads pop up that get in the way too, which is always ok 😊 I can’t wait to get into some of your priority ones that you mentioned like Lady Trent, Rigante, Rook and Rose, and Books of Babel!
Sometimes love letters into ashes frag. A forest fire black-and-whites the Earth; no hordes of antelope come dashing back. You pour the eye to ash, and find you’re cursed. The paper’s remnants like confetti grey. In bones of trees the nervous stag is lost; a barren ballroom where no couples sway. No ghostly breezes whirl the ashes up. Oh but with batting lashes smoke is fanned; a nearing palm like thunder rolling in to cup thy face; the globe within their hand. Your tear is drawn and running down their wrist. Your tears the rain to help new letters bloom, the happy tears a soulmate's hand exhumed.
I loved The Natural History of Dragons and I really need to read on! I enjoyed Senlin Ascends but not the second one as much. So I’m stalled on that series, but want to continue.
Rook and Rose is for sure a series I want to read as ive heard such good things. Maybe that can be our buddy read since Priory turned out to be a bust. Lol
Thanks for posting! You are my favorite book tuber, because I feel like our taste is so similar and you have introduced me to some of my favorite books! I know you loved Daughter of the Forest, and I'm wondering if you've read the other 2 books in the trilogy? I loved the Son of the Shadows, maybe even more than the first book, and am currently reading Child of the Prophecy and loving it so far!!
The last book of Liveship Traders was so good! So much character development and drama, I don't think you'd be disappointed! I'm reading Arm of The Sphinx right now and hoping to like it as much as I did book 1
The series I would like to finish are Cahil’s the Bound & the Broken, Wurts/ Feist Empire Trilogy, and Ruochio’s Suneater. Meanwhile I dropped everything for the Count of Monte Cristo right now!!
I think you will LOVE the Rook and the Rose trilogy. Just a feeling 😁 The book journal is an excellent idea. I use Goodreads, but that lacks that personal touch.
Ooh, I’m glad to hear that! I probably will try to get at least the first one in! I love the book journal - this is my third year with it and I’ve had a great time.
Kids of no, time just seems to accelerate as you age. Anyway, I set a goal to finish ten series this year, and I have only done three, so yeah, I'm starting to feel that time crunch too.
Truly, nothing faces you more with your mortality than making reading plans and realising how little time you have to read all the books you want lmao. Anyway, You gave me permission to scream at you if I want you to prioritise a certain series, SO YOU BETTER READ THE MASK OF MIRRORS!!! 🤩🤩🤩 And I am SO excited for you to continue Liveships and Nevernight. Seems like you are setting yourself up for a wonderful end to your reading year!! 🥰
Time passes by the older you get. 😅....Tawny Man (after Liveships)...also you need to read The Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince before TM. I'll be finishing Fitz and the Fool (hence, the whole ROTE this month). I still need to finish the last 2 books in Dagger & Coin. I've started using fantasy to read on football 🏈 Saturdays because it's easy to go back and forth between TV and book vs a Victorian book. So I'll get those 2 done once I finish Assassin's Fate
Right, Tawny Man! I always mix the two series names up. 🫣😅 I’ll grab the novella on kindle, I guess, and read that beforehand. And I also need to read Dagger & Coin. 😭❤️
Super excited for you to read Hunger of the Gods, continue Nevernight, and finish Liveship. All of those are absolute bangers! Those three alone make for some really epic reading you have ahead of you. 🤓
Hi Sarah, I have started and finished The Red Trilogy (Linda Nagata), Dogs of War & Bear Head (Adrian Tchaikovsky). I am currently reading Children of Time (Adrian Tchaikovsky) and fully intend to finish the next two books before the end of the year. Beyond that I have no idea what I might pick up between now and the end of the year.
@@TheBookCure I'm currently reading De Castell's newest standalone and I've pre-ordered the first book in the Greatcoats sequel series. Safe to say I'm a fan lol
Liveships is just terrific! So intense

The Lady Trent audiobooks are so good! I hope you enjoy them ☺️
Awesome plans Sarah! I also hope to finish Rook & Rose this year.
Nice!! I hope you enjoy the ending!

Yaay Liveships. Finally. 😊❤
I still have many series I need to finish.. but I like having something to look forward to, so no worries there. 😊
It is a good feeling!! ❤️
Men at Arms is so good, a great 2nd city watch book! Vimes is simply awesome! It is so worth continuing, hope you enjoy
Hopefully soon! I’m definitely looking forward to it. 😍

I love your shirt! #teamDresden
All hail the Za Lord!
Hi 😀 great video! Happy reading to you.
Happy reading to you as well!! 🥰
Rook and Rose is for sure a series I want to read as ive heard such good things. Maybe that can be our buddy read since Priory turned out to be a bust. Lol
Hahaha, that’s a good idea! Let’s see if we can be more successful 🤣❤️

The series I would like to finish are Cahil’s the Bound & the Broken, Wurts/ Feist Empire Trilogy, and Ruochio’s Suneater. Meanwhile I dropped everything for the Count of Monte Cristo right now!!
Nice!! The Count of Monte Cristo counts as a series on its own 🤣

Terra Ignota is a series I'd like to get to in 2024.
Right? Seeing Amy and Igor discuss it make me want to read too!
Super excited for you to read Hunger of the Gods, continue Nevernight, and finish Liveship. All of those are absolute bangers! Those three alone make for some really epic reading you have ahead of you. 🤓
Can’t wait to chat about Nevernight ❤️
@TheBookCure Will make for a super cool Halloween read if you get to it! Shadow magic and snarky talking black cats 🎃
I mean one of the mask of mirrors authors is Marie Brennan…. But I am also very pro you finishing chorus of dragons!
That is very true 😍😍 Chorus of Dragons soon, though!
I just finished Bear Head as well! How’d you enjoy the duology?
@@TheBookCure loved both books. Would like to read more.
I haven't continued Books of Babel and Discworld City Watch either. In my defence I have since declared holy war on Allen for his Dr Who takes. 😅
Hahaha, a just punishment!
I also had a plan to finish Liveship Traders in 2023, but the problem is I haven't started yet 😂
Hahahahaha. You’re even further behind than me 🤣🤣
You know, the reading season doesn’t end in December. You can read in January. February. Heck, even in march!
This is true, but my ability to colour in my nice little 2023 checkboxes is over in December 😅
*cries in Winternight trilogy*
I’m sorry, Evieeeeee 😭😭 It will happen! Buuut I do plan to do Spear Cuts Through Water in October!
@@TheBookCure Suuuure you are. 😝
@@SheWasOnlyEvie hahahaha. I can’t even defend myself 😭😭
Greatcoats is the only series I've actually finished this year😅
This year has not been my year for series and standalones so far have reigned supreme.
How’s you feel about it? I hope you enjoyed it!!
@@TheBookCure I did! Super underrated series.
@@TheBookCure I'm currently reading De Castell's newest standalone and I've pre-ordered the first book in the Greatcoats sequel series. Safe to say I'm a fan lol
@@thatsci-firogue Amazing! 🥰
I'm sure Derri has already said this, but Tawny Man should be read after Liveship, not Fitz and the Fool.
I only noticed after it was uploaded. 😭🤣 oops!
Man it didn't even occur to me that your last video had no Ship of Destiny, but ya WTF
I knowwww 😭🙈
