There's not a filler insight, nothing mediocre and everything I've listened to date which is a lot leaves me gobsmacked. Where others might spread themselves thin somewhere amongst the challenge of jumping and mixing up genres, Ren not only delivers but raises the bar like he's the grandmaster creator in every space he enters. The wordsmith's wordsmith, poet extraordinaire diving deep into his pain no matter how dark, feeling around for words that best convey his reality. Ive had this song and Bittersweet symphony on repeat for the last 4 days. They sound so good together. They have another one How to be Me I believe. I still need to go listen to it, I've been stuck on this one
What is amazing to me is how this young man has harnessed his struggles and suffering and turned it into art that made millions of us stop for a minute, relate, and care. That's powerful. I don't mean to sound preachy but i do believe God brings good from the worst of things. Ren's genius and talent seem like a conduit to being the healing power of love and empathy to us all in a time that can be dark and cold. One love! ✌🏼
People might think it's ridiculous to make such a comparison, but for me Ren really is up there with Eddie Vedder and Jeff Buckley. While both stand on their own as incredible voices and can't ever be matched, Ren has that same kind of deep quality in his voice, that certain something that just grabs you by the soul. The deepness in some moments, with a few extremely distinctive inflections on certain words, it all works, just like it did for Vedder and Buckley. And that's before we even get to the comparable storytelling. Vedder is undoubtedly a poet, Buckley obviously was, too. Ren has that same combination of incredible voice and incredible artistry in his writing. You have to see the live video of How To Be Me next. These two videos really show his vocal abilities and with Chinchilla there too it's even more special. I can't tell him what to do with his creative path, but I selfishly hope he focuses a lot more on this style and really continues to show his vocals, because he's really got something special and I can't get enough.

I wish I didn't need medication for my severe depression and anxiety but I literally can't function without them. He absolutely has a point though because I constantly feel like a fraud due to the fact that I take pills. Yet I still have to fake smiles daily. Absolutely love the reactions to ren so keep it up👍

I turned 42 last month & to my kids that means I caught a ride on Noah's Ark...lol Although I could probably blow some minds with my life story but I use my trauma to help others who have gone through a lot of the same things. Which is what Ren does with his music. He helps others while also using his music to help himself. People have become so used to expressing emotions with emoji’s that when you hear how ACTUAL TRUE EMOTIONS in lyrics and music we are just gut punched. I was in tears by the third line also. I’m getting used to having a box of Kleenex next to me when I’m watching anything from Ren.
REN has a very big soul to his voice. Everything he sings he draws you in with that soulful voice, it's uncanny. These 2 fit perfectly just look at the body language of Chinchilla throughout, she really embody the entire concept they sing about. At certain points it's like she can barely constrain herself and don't know where to go with her limbs. It's just perfect.

All local In my area in California at that time. I'm older now and all my singing is in the car or shower. 😂 But I come from a musical family. My daughter writes music and was in a band for 10 yrs that did opening acts at places like Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood. So even though I am not doing anything anymore I really enjoy seeing new independent talent. Still have horrible days but God has gotten me through 2 open heart surgeries and autoimmune disease along with depression. It actually saddens me that songs/music/videos that induce emotion are RARE. Music/Art is Suppose to make you FEEL. Ren harkens back to the Singer-Songwriters of the 70s. Ren gives me HOPE, that the artistry of songwriting/singing hasn't died. @@TrevandErin Haha yes... well, I used to be. I did some back up singing and some lead over the years in the studio and garage bands. Also some song writing. All local In my area in California at that time. I'm older now and all my singing is in the car or shower. 😂 But I come from a musical family. My daughter writes music and was in a band for 10 yrs that did opening acts at places like Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood. So even though I am not doing anything anymore I really enjoy seeing new independent talent. And especially live reactors like you who have a music background who can appreciate and understand the talent and the music. And I love your heart you are a genuine person. God bless you! 💕

Please watch his video talking about his disease and health issues. I’m going through the same thing, and when I stopped all the drugs Doctors prescribed me I began to feel better. Still have horrible days but God has gotten me through 2 open heart surgeries and autoimmune disease along with depression. REN was placed on my fed one night during I very rough night of wanting to die and I cried with him. He helped saved me.

Another really emotionally intense one by Ren is Crutch featuring Bibi. It’s older, from like 6 years ago. Really intense and a totally different style yet again. Also, check out Ren X Chinchilla How to be Me (live).

It actually saddens me that songs/music/videos that induce emotion are RARE. Music/Art is Suppose to make you FEEL. Ren harkens back to the Singer-Songwriters of the 70s. Ren gives me HOPE, that the artistry of songwriting/singing hasn't died. "Singers" today, for the most part, sing songs that have 25 "co-writers" and are constantly auto-tuned so you don't even know their voice anymore. Ren is on the path to destroy that stereotype.
