Thank you for including the missed shots too. It's good to know you are human. ;) In all honesty, I was always under the impression that pros are able to pocket balls on command, as if it were the easiest facet of the game to them. This will help me to beat myself up less for missing tough shots. Looking forward to the masochism of this drill!
Hallo jasim vielen Dank für die tollen drils und Anweisungen um sein Billardkönnen zu erweitern und zu verbessern vorallem auf so unvergleichliche sympathische Art ich hoffe auf noch mehr Videos lg Roland 👍🏼😀
@Jasmin Ouschan, could you please do a video discussing how you aim (exactly where in the pocket), when you are shooting a ball into a corner pocket when the ball is at varying distances from the long rail? Talk about how you make the pocket bigger. I know that sometimes the ball can hit the side rail as much as one and a half diamonds up from the corner pocket and still go in. I know that speed matters also. What I don’t know is, do you aim with that in mind? or do you still aim for the center of the pocket mouth opening? Where exactly is the center of the pocket on that kind of shot? How does your aiming change as the object ball moves away from the long rail out towards the center of the table. How does the angle of cueball approach change anything or not? What about English to improve the pocket-ability to synch, vs getting position on another ball. I think this is one of those ball pocketing knowledge things that the Pros seem to know that Amateurs don’t. Thanks for these videos. I am enjoying them.
Great drill....used to have this in my training routine years ago, including the "front-of pocket" cueballs and playing the shots on the second last diamond into corner and then middle, the middle diamond on the back rail into both middle pockets and on the right second diamond again into corner and middle pocket.....so 27 shots around the world. Then counted the missed shots to have a comparable result. 10-20 mistakes were ok/good for me, below 10 was magnificent, but only managed that a handful of times. Best result ever was 7, was pretty proud of that at the time. If you play this drill twice round, you then need to see a chiropractor 🙂
I tried this about a year ago. I made it to the 7th ball without missing then missed the 8th about 3 times. For some odd reason I had no problem on the long shots. I love your videos!!
I remember playing this drill many years ago. I didn't like my istructor very much when he showed it to me :) Oh man, it was so tough at the beginning, but at some point I made 14 or 15 points and was super happy about my result. Great drill and completely took my rail fears away back then.
In engineering terms, these are "boundary conditions" which tests the very edge of the capability envelope. What makes this drill so tough is that when the ball is frozen and you have a long shot to play, you really need to have a stroke that is mathematically accurate. If the cue tip does not contact the cue on the vertical axis, the masse induced will cause a miss. Also the bridge hand isn't as comfy as it could be given just how close it is to the cue ball. This could be a fantastic drill in which the player needs to totally focus on having a pure stroke. Any flaws in one's stroking technique will be magnified.
Jasmin tough drill the object ball has to be hit at 4.5 every time but being on the rail makes it very tough. I like that you showed also to move it a diamond those shots come up all the time.
This drill had me wanting to take up pinball! But I'm going to stick with it and try to complete it at least once before they take me to the asylum. On another subject... are you going to do a review of the Aramith 100 balls?
Being that players can take multiple cues out with them to play matches, such as a break, jump and playing cue, would it be allowed and would it make sense to have an additional cue with a smaller tip more similar to or an actual snooker cue, purely to use just for shots where the cue ball is tight on the cushion or rail? I just wondered if a smaller tipped cue will make for a better contact on the cue ball. EDIT: I posted initially having only watched some of this video so far but on watching the rest of it, I think using a second cue ball with little to no markings would be a good idea, because with a striped ball like here, the temptation is to subconsciously (or otherwise) respot the ball in the exact same way and use the markings as an aiming guide, rather than just using natural judgement. Being that realistically in 8 ball or 10 ball if on stripes, you are unlikely to have striped ball markings line up perfectly during an actual rack.
Seems like an idea about the smaller diameter tip. As for positioning of the cueball, I noticed she was laying the stripe horizontally each time so that it would be less of a randomized position. It isn't much of an aid the way she was doing it.
LOL I needed a laugh thanks. As far as that drill goes, ouch, as a snooker player I think it would be a near to impossible challenge on a 12 footer. Although it would certainly promote more discipline and I'm all for that. Great drill thanks.
It seems like at least 4 of the shots from the pockets would be relatively easy, straight into a pocket and a little more room to access the cue ball. I guess that's more shots you have to make, but they are easier.
It would be a good challenge with 2 people. Just like around the world in basketball. Make the shot and move on, miss and stay there or challenge it. Miss the second shot and go back one spot, or if you decide... go back to the beginning. First person all the way around wins. Question....are they all suppose to be straight shots. Some of those, a bank shot would be better.
My buddy completed it the whole, way around and the first 6 of the second time before missing. But he was also a former world champ 😂. I’m sure you know him jasmine…. He also does a variation where he moves the cb off the rail and then jacks up and tries to avoid hitting a rail with the the cb
Here I was thinking I “created” something when I did this drill a few weeks ago to work on rail cut shots since they’re my most problematic balls. And yes, I hated myself for a short while 😂
I just tried this, i did pretty good i thought for 1st try, i was at 39 and 1 shot left, so i was like, yay 1st try 40, nope....that last shot i missed 8 times lol so i got a 48...for the mist part i got alit in the 1st try or 2nd, but 3 position i had many misses, but overall i like the drill. Will be trying to get lower each time i try it
Just an observation (from me a real hacker) I would have to go back and watch it again. Looked like the shots you missed there was a choppy looking stroke with a short or very little follow through. The shots you made your follow through looked good and complete. Obviously a good follow through means you made a good stroke on the ball. So I then believe that there is nothing wrong with your form, aim, alignment...but getting a good stroke on a frozen cue ball is the most critical part of the scenario.
I know you're a champion...but....I am an old man.....and I see you are forgetting to play shape.....knowing where the cue ball is going is part of the aiming process in the mind....yup....always play shape
@@KingJ5dabears only King James I recall was Rempe.....next.....you don't know what you are talking about....shape is part of the aiming process.....you must be APA

Yes tried this one many times..frustrating but worth it. Love your videos and your cute humor. Keep up the great work Jasmin ❤
Great instruction and great demonstration. Thank you for helping the novice and experienced.

Have done this drill many times, would recommend adjusting cue ball off the rail per the individuals skill level, thx for the great videos.👍👍👍

I’ll try it. Yesterday I just tried to run a 9 ball rack. After 5 fails I decided the dog needs to go outside 😂😂
😂
You can imagine how much I appreciate your tutorials, I have improved my game
thanx so much for sharing your knowledge in these videos. I learn something each time I watch one, and also when I watch you play in matches.
This drill is like playing snooker against Mark Selby
I enjoy your videos because they are educational and entertaining.

Thank you for this video. I thought I was losing my skill. This will help me tremendously. Thank your brother for me!!
I’m definitely going to give this a try it looks challenging and I’ve been in a small slump so this could be something I need to try

Just watching you, a professional player, do this drill fills me with anger and frustration. I am not sure I'd have a cue left if I tried this.
Nightmare, but fantastic drill! Have tried a few variations of this one also and it’s really a great one to built confidence/patience/despair…. 😂
Good determination. I hated doing this drill. I ended up cheating a bit and moving the cueball a ball width off the rail to make the long shots.

Cool drill and I just ordered your case. Keep it up...
One of my biggest problems in pool is shooting from the rail so the next time I go to the pool room for practice I'm going to try this.

Around the world is a Darts training drill as well. Maybe thats where it was translated from. Or it could have been the other way around?
Is there any video of someone doing it?
tried this drill today it is fun, rewarding, and infuriating 😁
I think she can be even more parallel with the cue.

Make a variation to the drill, go back 1 diamond if you miss a certain targeted attempts for example 3 shots
And then legend says I'm still doing this drill
🤣
Is the pool drills inspired by Dr. Dave Billiard?
I saw Niels Feijen and Alex Lely train this drill about 20 years ago.

only one way to do this drill.
If you miss you start over, and you don't leave the table until you make all 18
