This reminds me of that MTV show where they legit traumatized teenagers by taking them to "haunted houses" and making them do perilous challenges, like lying on a slab in chains they had to free themselves from while a giant, one ton wall of spikes attached by a rope being burned through by a candle dangled above them. Does anyone else remember this? It'd be a great topic for you, Boose.
Honestly Impractical Jokers is the only prank show I like, because the joke is on the Joker being embarrassed and not the random passerby who'd be confused and amused.
That sounds like my kind of prank show. I also liked "Hell Date," where someone was set up on a comedically terrible blind date that gets more absurd until they finally tell the actor off, then find out it was staged, and the "date" immediately stops acting like a tool.
That sounds kinda stupid when you say it like that. The prank is supposed to be inflicted on innocents. Pranking yourself is like accidentally doing damage to yourself or your party in a tactics game.
I absolutely remember scare tactics. Wasn't it like... THE definitive spooky prank show at the time? I can't believe there's people who don't remember it 😕
Scare Tactics takes the "It's just a prank bro!" to a whole new level of extreme and the setup of the pranks that the show had pulled is really impressive, especially with the costumes.
I doubt anyone is going to know what I'm talking about, but there was another eerily similar show on MTV called Room 401 where, like Scare Tactics, they were "pranks" made to scare the literal shit out of the victim. The difference here, however, was that the show never treated these like pranks and more like they actually happened. It's sad I don't ever see anyone talking about it because that was one of the few things from my childhood that I can genuinely remember traumatizing me.
I was just thinking about it, trying to figure out if I was misremembering this or if it was a separate thing! I don't know which one of the two shows it was, but there was an amazing prank where a guy was working nights at a restaurant or something, and him and the actor were working with a a sort of liquid nitrogen machine for flash-freezing food (obviously, the machine is fake), and the actor would fall into the machine, submerging his arms, then getting up and his frozen arms would break. The pranked guy ran the fuck away, if I remember correctly. There was also one about, I think, an angel falling on top of a cab in an alley, and the prank victim was inside the cab? They were very well done, but like you say, they didn't show planning, the behind the scenes, or the "you're on camera" moments, and treated everything in a very serious tone.
I remember the one episode where they didnt even get far in the prank (acting like they were going to sacrifice a kid) bc the victim/nanny just picked up the kid actor and ran for the door as soon as things started to get sus.
So, what did they do?? Did they just move onto a different prank? Also that nanny now has a very good thing to put on her resume. You can trust her to protect your kids.
You couldn’t do this show today not only because of the level of trauma but because everyone is already on edge today so someone getting pranked might take the situation seriously and hurt/kill the prankster depending on what happens.
Gotta say I'm in the camp of thinking it's way too mean to scare random people this hard, but with enough precautions I think it could still work; for example making sure they aren't pranking people with a history of anxiety or otherwise anything where being under intense fear could be a legitimate health risk, and asking for their permission afterwards to use the footage (which I'm sure most shows like this did anyway).
It could be like a raffle People sign up, and no one knows who’s name was drawn. It makes people sign up, sign their waivers, and still keeps them on edge
I also think the idea that “your friend got you in here” isn’t a terrible idea but it would be better if you and your friend(s) sign up but only 1/ a select group of people will be in on the traum- I mean prank
@@markhirsch6301 wasn't this, like, a REAL concern they had? IIRC, one of the rules they had during production was if anyone ever pulled out a gun, everything was to be stopped immediately.
I have an idea for the next traumathon, you've got to do an Episode on Ghostwatch. It was a Halloween program that came out here in the UK in 1992, and it was known for scaring the nation, it did the whole live haunting before modern horror movies did it. It was fake, but alot of people that tuned in didn't realise it was fake. And so hundreds, thousands of people in the UK were traumatised. It even made a 18 year old lad, kill himself, because it scared him that much.
@@CozyAfterglow yeah, but its the kinda of that that would be suitable for traumathon. It was really controversial at the time, and was outright banned till the early 2000s.
As someone with an already existing anxiety disorder, PTSD and a whole heap of childhood trauma, I'd be beyond pissed if someone did this to me and I'd sue as well. You have no idea what people have been through and I wouldn't want to risk it. Plus I just don't get what's so funny or interesting about making people feel bad.
It's funny when the person is actually okay. They don't draw it out after they get a slight scare in newer seasons. All the people are also recommended by a friend or family member, so they probably wouldn't put someone close to them in a situation they can't handle. Though I understand your perspective.
@@AStrangeTrap family and friends, (family especially), can be ignorant at best and cruel at worst. the fact that the victims are recommended doesn't really mean much.
I remember scare tactics. It wasn't my cup of tea, since I empathize with the person being pranked. I always worry about how many years of therapy and if they no longer trust their closest friends/family because of what they were put through for the sake of a laugh on TV.
in my idea, the best pranks are the harmless ones. like replacing all your family photos with pictures of jeff goldblum. making people genuinely think they’re in danger is so fucked up. i’ve been in dangerous situations before, and if someone did this to me i’d definitely end up hurting whoever did it
In college, one of our friends briefly sold sodas out of his mini fridge, but he got sick of people asking him about it after he ran out. Every single one of us went out and bought him a pack of soda, then we snuck it all into his room, and sent someone to ask him incessantly for a soda until he tried to show them that there were none left. We got to annoy the shit out of him, and he got a month's supply of free drinks. Everyone was happy.
I once pranked my mom by making a little statue out of mashed potatoes (I painted it with food colouring), pretending it was clay, and then eating it. I also pranked my friends by asking if they heard of Hava (hava good day lol)
I honestly agree, id say, amazing execution. Entertaining. But not morally correct. I do think they might have been careful on who to prank to avoid and other lawsuit. But its true that yeah this show was mean.
as a child that was afraid of everything, probably including my own shadow, it's a wonder that i used to be obsessed with this show lol. maybe i was trying to process my fears by watching other people live through stuff I was afraid of..... or maybe I also just had a crush on Shannon
While it definitely made it more boring, the reason this show was toned down was self-explanatory. Most people really don't think of earnest attempts to traumatize someone as within the justifiable limits of a "prank". Think about the controversy generated by Sam pepper's fake Abduction of Sam Goldbach: In the video Pepper led Goldbach to believe he and his friend were being kidnapped, and then "executed" his friend in front of him. People hated this video because it didn't feel like a prank so much as it did just an incredibly cruel and sadistic thing to do to someone for no reason. It had the same setup as Scare Tactics, complete with the event being arranged by a friend of the victim, but instead of it reading as comical or entertaining it was seen as heartless. The only difference between that and Scare tactics is that ST had a bigger budget and more outlandish scares (Save for the machete scenario). Hurting people psychologically just isn't funny to most sane, empathetic people.
I usually hated prank shows, but both me and my parents loved this one! My favorite moment was this one girl. I can't remember anything about what the scenario was, but they were either in or near a big open field and she just booked it. They screamed out to her that it was just a prank and she yelled something like "yeah right!" over her shoulder and kept going. Then they transitioned to a while later after they caught her and convinced her it actually was fake and bright her back. She just decided to nope the fuck out of there and nothing they said could stop her, I respect that.
I remember one prank from scare tactics were they convinced the victim that she was going to be the one pranking someone else. They had her jump out and yell boo only for the actor to fall back and pretend to just straight up die from a heart attack. Shit like that is what made scare tactics crazy, to like convince someone they’ve just killed a dude.
That rat monster episode is actually a nostalgic favorite of mine. I faintly remember watching it a long time ago with my mom and brother and just cracking up at the dude’s prolonged screaming.
There was a similar show I watched called Room 401 that was hosted by Ashton Kutcher. It was only 8 episodes long but I remember it being much more unnerving than scare tactics because the victims were always left confused and were never told they were being pranked (at least no fottage of them being told).
this is my main favorite thing for oct, been here since Traumathon 2 and ive loved this ever since, with the video you made covering about The Regenerators on re:4 unlocked some other wordly kid memories i honestly thought ive forgot. ive adored Traumathon 2&3 for my love of horror and things that are strange, i cant wait to see what you do for Traumathon 4SAKEN this year and what else you cover after Traumathon 4SAKEN, i adore what you do and it inspires me to create and look at more interestings thing to this year :]
Scare Tactics scared the hell out of me and I 100% want them to bring it back, it was way over the top, brutal, borderline evil, and there is nothing funnier than committing to the bit like that.
Nah. Fuck this. You can make jokes about people "clutching their pearls" and filing lawsuits but I sympathize with them completely. Knowing people who've been through real-life traumatizing scenarios and people who have pre-existing conditions, this kind of thing would ruin them. The way people watch & make these, and have no concern for the aftermath, and even mock people who do worry about the victims, genuinely disgusts me. I'm glad its over.
Ok but I love the guy in the rat prank, not only because his scream is HILARIOUS but because he just fucking books it. He nopes on out of there as fast as possible like somebody lit a firecracker in his ass.
Ah the joy of watching scare tactics. Seeing people crap themselves over and over. I still remember laughing at the guy who saw the miniature creature in the lab. The look on his face just sent me into a laughing fit. The show was one of my favorites, but not because it was always funny, because they went all out with the special effects and making things look real.
Do y’all remember when TruTV used to be like a sort of reality type of network. There used to be this show called like “1000 ways to die” or something like that, it was graphic and over the top as well.
I now developed fears over certain things due to that show, don't remember *what* just that something from that show traumatized me and gave me a fear over how the death happened
TruTV used to be frickin wild cuz the program aired shows that actually showed footage of disasters and accidents captured on footage. Like, it used to be extremely tense and real, as the name would suggest. Then it sort of just shifted into showing whatever funny videos were viral on the internet. An absolute fall off imo.
@@javivaki at the time the only goofy show they had was “World’s Dumbest” and I think the success of “Impractical Jokers” is when the network changed. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Impractical Jokers for like it’s first few seasons and later seasons have it’s moments; but i think it’s kind of worn off you know. Especially with the departure of Joe Gatto earlier this year.
@@BrickFighter13 Wacky ass change lol. I love Impractical Jokers as well, but I totally get what you mean. Just catch some of their clips from time to time but never really went back. Idk I don't have cable anymore lmao.
The episode that scared me when I was younger was the one where a young woman is hired to help with a fashion show, but one of the models either leaves or doesn't show up so she is asked to model the necklace instead. And then as her and the other models are displaying the jewelry/clothes they realize the massive bids are on them and not the items. And they made her think she was going to be sold to some wealthy sicko. x_x
It was all clearly staged. You dont go “oh…” if you see a creepy monster man outside the window at night, you immediately freak out. I have a hard time believing people actually buy the performances as genuine.
I remember my ex _loving_ this show when it came out, and me telling him I'd break up immediately if he ever tried that shit. In retrospect, it probably would've saved me some time. I still remember the episode where they set up a fake industrial accident where this guy thought his coworker was caught in the machinery and calling for help, but before he could get to him, they swapped the "friend" out with half of a dummy and a lot of fake blood. They made him think his coworker got torn apart because he didn't act fast enough.
Scare Tactics scared the SHIT out of me as a kid. There was one with a deformed baby in the jar actually made 9 year old me run out of the room. That one, the cattle mutilation one, and the radioactive pregnancy one in the warehouse still stick in my mind to this day.
I remember this show being one I wouldn't want to be on. Not because I'd run. But because I'd probably be sued out the wazoo for assault with a weapon possible manslaughter. I get into fight or flight mode and 80% of the time it's fight.
I remember watching this despite it being too spoopy for a 6 year old me at the time. But I loved it because it was fun to watch with my older brother and it definitely strengthened our sibling bond. So their was a huge silver lining from this show for the both of us
That episode where a woman gave birth to Satan stuck with me for my entire life but I could never remember where that scene came from. Thank you Papa Goose.
I remember seeing some mind field video where they were conducting an experiment related to the trolley problem. They had to soften the initial issue so much due to ethical issues that they couldn't make the participant actually witness a death or something of the sort, and they had to also have a trauma counselor on hand, and they also has to scan participants to make sure they were at a lower risk of mental health issues or post traumatic stress. I haven't even watched this video half way and I already have a gut feeling that this show got it's ass sued off, and if I find out that it *didn't* I will be genuinely surprised and disgusted.
In México we had I think way earlier a show called "Infarto" ("Heart Attack") which almost had the same vibes as this, but kinda "scarier"...the pranks there were absolutely horrifying. There was one that a guy repairing I think a light bulb fucking dies and he foams from his mouth and shit, also they had ghosts, demons and shit. I remember one time they had like a demon thing that got so close to the victim that she sprayed it with something and she fled the place. Oh by the way, do you know what they said when they stopped the "prank"? "Tienes miedo? Estás en infarto!" (Are you scared?, You're in Infarto!"
@@kannalostherjaw.8693 It's not been confirmed if that actually happened, I think it's only a ongoing rumour. It maybe had the same fate as "Scare Tactics", people actually didn't liked to be pranked, also see how they at the end hug or cheer the prank victim...in "Infarto" that was never shown as far as I remember.
DUUUUUDE . I used to watch Scare Tactics with my parents ! Shit used to scare me so bad , I always used to wonder what it be like to be in those situations . Great video , man !!!
You mentioned Shannon being a good host, and she was but the horror hostess I'll always remember from around this time is Michelle Trachtenberg on Truth or Scare from Discovery Kids. She's only about 5 years older than me and it was cool to see someone in that age range hosting something dark.
I REMEMBER SCARE TACTICS OMG, I HAVE SPENT YEARS REMEMBERING AND FORGETTING IT. Thank god someone is covering it. I used to watch it on cable all the time. The one episode I probably remember the best is the one where they tied an actor to a bed and "chopped" their legs off, where's the prank victim would then walk in and see the person with no legs and the chainsaw killer. I remember that mainly because the person in the bed was shirtless. UHHH... yea.
I bet many actors in prank shows have gotten beat/nearly gotten beat. Like, some people start throwing hands when scared, and other people will start throwing hands when they find out someone decided to cause emotional distress for fun.
To use Little People to frighten others is disrespectful & dehumanizing. It needs to fucking stop. They are like everybody else, their genes are just a bit different. I used to hate watch Scare Tactics until I couldn't take it anymore & had to walk away because I realized it wasn't good for my mental health. If it were me in these scenarios, I would feel absolutely FURIOUS. I fucking hate liars & have been bullied for pretty much my entire life. If that shit happened to me, I would right away cut ties with my so-called friends & sue the people of Scare Tactics. This stuff isn't funny to me. It's legitimately upsetting & I fear the sorts of people whom laugh at it. This is the kind of thing that could traumatize people & should be illegal.
I always wonder why real physical torture disgusts most people, yet real psychological torture, not as much. I just hope it wasn’t actually real and that the show was staged, and if it wasn’t, I’m glad it’s over
Omg i remember we had the rat man episode recorded on our comcast DVR. My family would literally watch just that prank at least once a week for a few years until the dvr just randomly deleted it. I cant believe i forgot about that, hidden core memory rediscovered lol.
Thank you for unlocking some of the best memories I had watching tv lol this show was classic. People just weren’t as aware of being in these situations when social media wasn’t as big lol
For the longest time I didn't care about Halloween at all. After I stopped trick or treating Halloween just because meaningless to me. That's why I am thankful that you made this series. It has been really fun to watch and I looked forward to it every year now.
man I already don't remotely see the appeal in doing over the top pranks that genuinely affect, watching this just cemented that. there's something really off to me about watching folks fear for their life or truly believe they hurt/killed someone and finding it to be great entertainment
This reminds me of the i guess mexican version of it called Infarto but i remember the show only coming on late as hell on i think on the TV Azteca channel and it would scare the shit out of me when the intro came in bc it was this deep demon voice saying INFAAARTOOO and then screaming. Like 😭😭😭😭
HOLY SHIT I remember Scare Tatics!! I loved this show when I was younger, as it was like my early dose of horror- I kinda forgot about it after a while, but this video brought waves of nostalgia back lol
I was obsessed with reruns of Scare Tactics and Freak Encounters in my early teen years, it was insane to see how far they'd push the limits when I was younger.
I LOVED this show. I'm 32 now and I remember this show coming out. I watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. It was the best! A little cheesy, but the best. I always wondered what I would have done in the same situation. It's amazing how many people just freeze up!
MY BIRTHDAY HAS ROLLED AROUND ONCE AGAIN AND JUST IN TIME FOR MY FAVORITE GOOSE BOOSE SERIES!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME AND HAPPY TRAUMATHON TO EVERYONE ELSE!!!
I was young an impressionable when that show came out. I thought it was funny, but for me, the terror was "Wait, am I on Scare Tactics RIGHT now? Is something horrifying about to happen?" Which could have been problematic if I ever became confident enough and ended up in a legitimately dangerous situation, but just laughed it off believing I was about to be on television.
I do remember this show and it was frickin terrifying due to how real the set up felt and the genuine reactions. The monster were really freaky as well.
A really interesting reality tv show that seriously did a number on the participants was Solitary. There’s two seasons, and what they put them through is very hardcore.
I hope you do some next episodes of Traumathon 4 talking about Toonami's The Intruder, Danny Phantom: The Ultimate Enemy, BBC's Ghostwatch, and Michael Haneke's Funny Games!
i have to agree with some of the other people in the comment section that shows like this are fucked up. i think that woman had every right to sue for emotional damages. there's no way to really know someone's emotional state or tolerance for trauma, and they could have really messed someone up. someone in another comment thread mentioned that they suffer from psychosis, and a situation like this could do severe damage to anyone with a disorder like that. not to mention the risk of someone having heart problems or other undisclosed health concerns. there are just so many things that could go so wrong. this isn't to say shows like this shouldn't exist, but they need to have VERY strict regulations and should absolutely be prepared to face repercussions should anything go awry.
i used to watch a show on Disney XD called walk the prank, I remember watching an imaginary friend prank which scared the victim so horribly that she ran all the way toward the side of a road
Dude absolutely love when tramathon comes around, I'm not too keen on the new intersection but I'm sure it'll grow on me but I'm absolutely loving tramathon
I always had “If it were me” type thoughts when it came to prank shows so I could never really watch them. Multiple times during this video alone I thought things like “If that was me, I’d probably have a panic attack” “I agree with emotional damage lady, I’d file a lawsuit too” “I would be so pissed to find out it was a prank made at my expense, I don’t think I’d be laughing” “I don’t think I’d be able to forget either” Respectfully it’s not my type of show and I won’t be watching these anytime soon Disrespectfully though, fuck that shit who comes up with these things and thinks it’s okay wtf Even so, thank you for the perspective, GB. I will be awaiting more traumathon :)
Yeah I think there's definitely a possibility of actual trauma happening because even if the danger ended up not being real, the victim's fear was. Fearing for your life is always traumatizing (saying this as someone who directly experienced the 2018 Hawaii false missile alert. Not a prank, but a threat that ended up being not real that still messed me up.)
@@liquidbismuth1044 My family and I are fine, we've definitely recovered! Still, it was crazy being in like 8th grade and having to send goodbye messages to friends. I remember not being able to go jogging for a while because I got the alert right after I came home from a morning jog, so I ended up associating it with that fear.
Thanks for recalling this, I loved this show! I didn’t even remember it having a host 😂 Just ppl getting scared and the actors eventually telling them it was a joke
Scare tactics is one of my all time favorite shows, they really perfected pranks in the horror format and I'm desperate for a comeback to this day. At it's time, I don't think it went too far at all and used some unique and interesting plots during their pranks which is a detail I always appreciated. The masterful build ups and great improv acting. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you check it out.
see when u brought up scare-tatics my first thought was the tracy morgan seasons cause that was the only seasons on sci-fi at the time and my brain went "oh nah dude that shit was too over the top for anyone to get terrified to the point of pushing it too far" but holy shit had i watched the first season were it ever re-airing on sci-fi at the time i would be terrified too
Va la bam is such a good memory for me. A guy who was starting to know me years back in highschool knew we would be good friends, and wanted to know what I would like. I told them no, just because I knew they wouldn't like the stuff I liked. Only for him to drop Va la bam as the list of things he liked. We got to know each other and soon dated. One of our dates was watching reruns of the show, and we used to do it where every Christmas we would watch the Christmas special where they go to see santa. We are still dating, and my gosh I kinda want to see the show with him again.
Ok im pausing at 7:35 to say this: if someone thinks they have accidentally killed someone, isnt there a pretty high risk of that person going “welp, guess its time to get rid of the witnesses”? Lol i would not want to be in the shoes of that prankster.
Um…. My guess would be no. I don’t think there’s a “high risk” of that happening. I don’t think your average Joe Schmo is a sociopath and an active threat to society.
The thing that always terrified me as a child was from the game Timesplitter Future Perfect. An enemy called ''The Freak'' or something like that was so scary when I was younger. It was basically a deformed human, slowly walking towards you while grunting. And also the Flood from Halo was so so scary to me xd
This show DID know how to dial it back when they needed to and they ended pranks early multiple times when they needed to - the most notable one was when a guy was hired to repossess furniture and found a fake body in a freezer. He started crying and hyperventilating so the actor working beside him ended the prank immediately and comforted him. It was all in good fun, the reactions were just extreme.
I think I do remember this! Specifically seeing a rerun marathon one evening. I couldn't remember the name for the life of me, but this has got to be the scary prank show I only vaguely remember. I specifically remember one episode that felt like a fever dream where a man with dwarfism was hiding inside a doghouse and came out dancing or something like that. That part I only remember for being so weird. Honestly, thank you for reminding me of this, Goose! EDIT: OH MY GOD THERE HE IS! I typed this comment up as soon as I remembered what it was and almost screamed whenever the clip of the guy played like a minute later.

People sign up, and no one knows who’s name was drawn. It makes people sign up, sign their waivers, and still keeps them on edge
I also think the idea that “your friend got you in here” isn’t a terrible idea but it would be better if you and your friend(s) sign up but only 1/ a select group of people will be in on the traum- I mean prank
All it takes is for someone to have a gun and the prank would end with the person in the monster costume dead
@@markhirsch6301
Never prank texans I guess
It even made a 18 year old lad, kill himself, because it scared him that much.
could perhaps do it this year
That one has also been covered to death on TH-cam. A horror channel I'm subscribed to literally did a vid on it last week.
@@CozyAfterglow yeah, but its the kinda of that that would be suitable for traumathon. It was really controversial at the time, and was outright banned till the early 2000s.
Wait, didn’t he cover it already? I swear he talked about it somewhere, maybe on stream.
Except these weren't random people pranking them, it was their friends.
This is why it’s important to do background checks
@@lainiwakura1776 Not for long, they weren't
@@AStrangeTrap family and friends, (family especially), can be ignorant at best and cruel at worst. the fact that the victims are recommended doesn't really mean much.
I remember scare tactics. It wasn't my cup of tea, since I empathize with the person being pranked. I always worry about how many years of therapy and if they no longer trust their closest friends/family because of what they were put through for the sake of a laugh on TV.
I always assumed these shows had the victims either set up in a way that allows them to be filmed or just actors. Did it work differently from that?
in my idea, the best pranks are the harmless ones. like replacing all your family photos with pictures of jeff goldblum. making people genuinely think they’re in danger is so fucked up. i’ve been in dangerous situations before, and if someone did this to me i’d definitely end up hurting whoever did it
In college, one of our friends briefly sold sodas out of his mini fridge, but he got sick of people asking him about it after he ran out.
Traumathon is something I look forward to every year now, feels like a tradition!
Same
Yes I remember Scare Tactics, they even made a version in Mexico
this is my main favorite thing for oct, been here since Traumathon 2 and ive loved this ever since, with the video you made covering about The Regenerators on re:4 unlocked some other wordly kid memories i honestly thought ive forgot.
ive adored Traumathon 2&3 for my love of horror and things that are strange, i cant wait to see what you do for Traumathon 4SAKEN this year and what else you cover after Traumathon 4SAKEN, i adore what you do and it inspires me to create and look at more interestings thing to this year :]
Traumathon intros never fail to impress me, keep up the good work! (:
@@Shadria1996 OMG Y E S
And they made her think she was going to be sold to some wealthy sicko. x_x
I STILL WATCH SCARE TACTICS, it was literally mine and my dads favourite thing to do when i was younger 🥺
Jesus this show sounds insane, it really is a wonder how it wasn't cancelled even BEFORE it aired
It was all clearly staged. You dont go “oh…” if you see a creepy monster man outside the window at night, you immediately freak out. I have a hard time believing people actually buy the performances as genuine.
@@jacksonjack7838 Yes you do XD I've had barely any reaction to things. "OH OK THEN."
Guess I'm just faking it too.
I definitely saw this on Netflix and oh my goodness my dad and I were definitely laughing our ass's off very good memories lol
I REMEMBER THAT!! Twisted stuff!
Was exactly going to post this. Mind you, Infarto was pulled off TV because one of the victims had an actual heart attack during a prank.
She's only about 5 years older than me and it was cool to see someone in that age range hosting something dark.
the 'my favorite movie is tetsuo: the iron man' was dropped like a bomb
Yes, finally. I get to be here for a traumathon. I've been waiting since the beginning of this year for it, watched all the others while waiting.
UHHH... yea.
I just remember little people dressed like the devil and Tracy Morgan yelling at me
I wish I could be a victim on a show like this cuz after everything is revealed I'd have an excuse to absolutely whoop the crap outta some guy.
I bet many actors in prank shows have gotten beat/nearly gotten beat. Like, some people start throwing hands when scared, and other people will start throwing hands when they find out someone decided to cause emotional distress for fun.
Goose boose while wrapped in all the blankets in the house >>>

MTV’s FEAR. Have the complete series in a bootleg dvd set I got at a horror convention 12 years ago. Still love it !
I thought I never saw this show up until you reawakened some supressed memories by talking about the Rat human hybrid episode.
I LOVE SCARE TACTICS!! Me and my family watched it last year alot!

Like 😭😭😭😭
this and Room 401 were THE shit, 8 year old me was lightly traumatized

I was young an impressionable when that show came out. I thought it was funny, but for me, the terror was "Wait, am I on Scare Tactics RIGHT now? Is something horrifying about to happen?" Which could have been problematic if I ever became confident enough and ended up in a legitimately dangerous situation, but just laughed it off believing I was about to be on television.
Horror movie idea: serial killer makes people think they're on a prank show. Either they're killed, or they end up killing someone else as a prank.
@@genericname2747 that sounds pretty great tbh, reminds me vaguely of squid game
The rat one made me laugh so fucking hard. Thank you, I have covid rn and that gave me a chance to forget I was sick for a minute 🤣
i used to watch a show on Disney XD called walk the prank, I remember watching an imaginary friend prank which scared the victim so horribly that she ran all the way toward the side of a road

I always had “If it were me” type thoughts when it came to prank shows so I could never really watch them. Multiple times during this video alone I thought things like “If that was me, I’d probably have a panic attack” “I agree with emotional damage lady, I’d file a lawsuit too” “I would be so pissed to find out it was a prank made at my expense, I don’t think I’d be laughing” “I don’t think I’d be able to forget either”
Respectfully it’s not my type of show and I won’t be watching these anytime soon
Disrespectfully though, fuck that shit who comes up with these things and thinks it’s okay wtf
Even so, thank you for the perspective, GB. I will be awaiting more traumathon :)
I agree, I just don't think it's funny at all
yeah.. I may be "clutching my pearls" but shit like this is genuinely mean-spirited and I'm glad it ended

BRO I FREAKING LOVED SCARE TACTICS AS A KID
The thing that always terrified me as a child was from the game Timesplitter Future Perfect. An enemy called ''The Freak'' or something like that was so scary when I was younger. It was basically a deformed human, slowly walking towards you while grunting. And also the Flood from Halo was so so scary to me xd
What I love is that these pranks have the same budget and scope of a horror movie
you have such a cool intro, and who couldn't forget Shannon Doherty having her own show
If I was the person in charge of season 3 I would never had toned down the scary stuff
