- We headed north from Cape Town through the Northern Cape to Port Nolloth to start to our epic road trip around Namibia and other parts of Southern Africa. Port Nolloth, South Africa has a long history of being an important port and diamond mining town and sits on the Atlantic coast. The beaches and coastline are stunning and great places to explore.

So the beach is off limits? Why did the police approach you? Is it possible to swim/play around there? Is it really worth it?
It was a strange encounter. He was making sure that we knew there were diamonds on the beach and that we were not allowed to collect them. He left us and told us to enjoy the beach. We were stopping over on our way to Namibia, not sure it would be worth the trip just to see Port Nolloth.
