    We got to be the LAST people leaving Main Street and got gorgeous photos all alone with the whole street lite up for Christmas, and then they did the Kiss Goodnight, JUST FOR THE 2 OF US!!! That was the most magical thing ever and worth every penny! Plus we ate so many Mickey Bars, popcorn, and Coke that it felt like we were robbing Disney. And the Princesses in princess Hall must have been bored from so few people that when we (Two grown men) walked it, they were so happy and eager to not only stay in character, but were almost talking our ears off and trying to keep us from leaving. That was so much fun! I never knew so much about Tiana! IN A HEART BEAT!!! I would never miss the opportunity to do After Hours again! No crowds, The best weather, NO STROLLER!!!! (That's worth $100 in itself!) Plus it tends to only be true Happy Disney fans, so it also gets rid of the unpleasant guests that seems to always be complaining about something.

    We ate our ticket price in snacks! Definitely worth the extra money for low crowds and Mickey ice cream sandwiches (or bars)!

      Yes! Me and my husband got our moneys worth with all the free snacks and drinks! We kept grabbing waters and saving them for the the next day😂 saved us about 100$ on just water 😂😂😂

    For me it was 100% worth it! so many snacks, i have pictures and videos of me in certain lands and it's literally just me! I walked on to every ride. I have the most amazing pictures. It was the most amazing night.

      Same,...100% worth it.
      You can do days worth of ride access in a few hours. There is no down side,...I have been doing these for 2 years.
      Now with Animal Kingdom,..I am so psyched ...I`m excited for flight of passage..
      I`ll get to Hollywood Studios in the spring.
      I ate so many Mickey Pops and Drank so many Cokes,...Ugh...Thats the only shortcoming,...if you can call it that.
      Im going to try TMK on a Monday, then DAK the following nite.

    I was at Disney World just after thanksgiving this year and we attended the After Hours event at Magic Kingdom and IT WAS AMAZING! It was actually the best part of our trip! The snacks were great, the wait times were literally nothing, and the cast members were even more friendly than normal! We were asked if we wanted to ride rides again without even getting off. We got extra time with photo pass photographers. We rode rides completely alone (I rode Jingle Cruise by myself, I was actually the only person on the boat with the Skipper, she talked to me without using the speaker. My aunt rode haunted mansion and was the only person in the stretching room.) Overall it was great, I would completely recommend it, I wish we could have done it for more parks or even again for Magic Kingdom. Yes it is expensive but I thought it was amazing!

      We went to Disney After Hours in Hollywood Studios at the end of May when daytime temps were 98 degrees, heat index of 110+. We spent the day by the pool thanking our lucky stars that we were not broiling in the parks. We went at night when it was still quite warm but pleasant (ok at least bearable). Best way to do this - Book your stay so an After Hours event is one of your first nights. Enter the park at 7 and stay until After Hours closes for the most hours. To make it REALLY helpful, get as many bottles of water as you can. They are included in the event, so no additional cost beside what you already paid.Bring a backpack and stock up,. Then, use them throughout your stay to avoid buying bottled water - either from the hotel store, park stands, or ordering from the local grocery store to deliver to your hotel. While every dining facility will give you free water, it is Orlando public water and it has a taste...

    For me, After hours was definitely worth it. I went with my mom for the first time in years pretty close to the opening of Pandora. We rode Navi River journey 5 times in one night (2 minute wait each) as well as flight of passage 3 times in a row (about 10 minute wait). After hours was worth every penny to not have to suffer the heat of Florida, no waits, and no crowds. Especially in a relatively small portion of the park like Pandora. However, we were never told that we had to visit a kiosk outside of Pandora in order to get into the event. They didn't check our wrists and we waited in line for 10 minutes at Navi River Journey (right when the event started so people were rushing to the rides) only to be told we could not have the ride because we didn't have our wristbands. We had to walk to a kiosk on the other side of Animal Kingdom. Other than that, totally worth having the park to yourself.

    After going to an after hours event last year I was terrified they would go away. I thought “there is absolutely no way they are making money on this”. The operating costs per hour to keep the park open must be astronomical. Then I was worried they’d up the number of tickets they sold and it would lose its virtually-guest-free magic. So far so good!

    I did after hours last January and it was worth every penny! I did Thunder Mountain 7 times in a row, Mine train 6 times in a row and Space Mountain 5 times in a row. I also did several other rides (Haunted Mansion and Buzz) where I was the only person on the ride! Mine train was the only ride that had a 10 minute wait. Everything else was walk on. Well worth the money. We rode every single ride in MK, did the photopass at the lantern, and took tons of photos alone in front of the castle all in that 3 hours. Only con we had was that regular guests were in the lines for the first 1/2 hour- hour which made the lines long the first hour.

    Did Hollywood Studios and Villains after hours last week, both were worth the ticket price. For Villains, there was a pretty sick DJ and we had fun dancing and watching the show. We got on the Snow White coaster in Magic Kingdom within 10 minutes, Splash Mountain virtually had no people and we rode on it twice, and Big Thunder was so much more fun at night. For Hollywood studios, we rode the tower of terror twice, rocking rollercoaster twice, got on Slinky dog dash in less than 20 minutes, and met Sorcerer Mickey along with BB-8. The cast members were so cool to talk to and it was really cute seeing my spouse practice sorcery with Mickey. There is definitely more of a intimate experience when you meet the characters during after hours, perhaps because they're not seeing a ton of people. Definitely recommend after hours and can't wait to do it again when we come back next year.

    I’ll randomly check wait times & this past Monday wait times were crazy!! Even carousel of progress had a 20 minute wait. I’d gladly pay for after hours to actually enjoy the rides

    Oh wow, I found DFB AFTER doing a hard ticket event, (mickeys not so scary Halloween party) on Halloween itself and paid full price, even though we are annual pass holders and I just found out NOW that the snacks and ice cream bars were free and we didn't know it! ARG! BUT, here are a few things not mentioned in this video we did learn. Rember that for those with regular day tickets, that park closes earlier, so your day is shortened, BUT, because of this, it is less crowded during the day. And if you are already in the park, they don't make you leave for the hard ticket special event times, but you can't do the rides or partake in the give aways, but you can just stay and watch the parades and shows.

    I did one of the original ones a couple of years ago when people were very critical of the idea and I loved it, I did every ride in the Magic Kingdom in one evening and even did 7 Dwarves half a dozen time. I don't think they sold all the tickets and I saw one stroller all night. There were hardly any kids and families with children and I felt the adults (myself included) really found their inner child. There hasn't been one since when I've been there, but, this next one there is so I'm definitely doing it and even considering doing the DHS one as well. AK not so much as there isn't as much that I like to do.

    Me and my wife actually did the after hours event in Animal Kingdom recently. It was kind of a last minute thing for us and we absolutely loved it. Getting to ride her favorite ride (flight of passage) multiple times is just amazing. We have pictures of us by ourselves on Dinosaur and we got to ride Everest an obscene amount of times. We grabbed drinks almost every time we walked by and tbh I would pay for it even if my entire party can't ride. I am extremely biased and greatly miss E-ride nights from when I was a kid.

    Maybe this is a good bargain because it is new. I went to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party as another hard ticket event, and and was very disappointed. The crowd was horrible so the lines were long to do anything. We went to multiple snack stations & got generic chocolate chip cookies at every station. The only saving grace was the fireworks which were amazing. As pretty as they were, it was not worth the cost of that ticket. I will not do that again.

    • @GAN-0
      @GAN-0 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sandi richardson it’s a great bargain! But not because it’s new. I think because for the cost of basically a 1-day ticket, you get free ice cream, drinks, and popcorn and literally walk on every ride. I went to a MK After-hours and had I wanted, could have rode every attraction in the park. No crowds -it’s shocking actually. I agree with you regarding MVMCP

    • @sharoncz8689
      @sharoncz8689 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MVMCP is awesome! At least last year when we went, most snack stations had particular free snacks unique to that station. So Tortuga Tavern had snowman soft pretzels and sno-cone; Friar's Nook had Dove chocolate and apple cider; etc. More specialty Christmas snacks were available for $ like my favorite Mickey Chocolate Yule Log at Main Street Bakery. Love the parade, festive atmosphere, all the entertainment, special character experiences... Last hour get on and off anything you want with no line. But I do understand it's not for everyone. It does help if you enjoy planning in advance which food / experiences you want & having a rough idea before you go. Disney After Hours is not festive, no extras except for all the free snacks. What's great is riding all the rides that usually have loooong waits -- without having to wait more than 5 min. for most. We did Disney After Hours at the end of May in Hollywood Studios. We got in 2 1/2 hours before park closing, so we could do anything regularly opened then & even got 3 fastpasses. Once DAH started, we were able to ride Rock and Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, SLinky Dog, Toy Story Mania, Star Tours -- over and over and over. I played Toy Story Mania so much my arm hurt! Not to mention photos with Disney characters with NO WAIT (Minnie looked excited to have someone to talk to!) and Chewbacca (my dream!). So nice for a Memorial holiday week when the park is c-r-o-w-d-e-d. At HS anyway, stands for free snacks were easy to find, as it is a small, compact park. Another perk was bearable temperatures versus the 98 degree temps / heat index of 110 that tourists were experiencing in the daytime that week! Finally, Disney After Hours is great for people who have some mobility issues as so much can be done without standing in line (many folks can walk some but not stand for 10 hours). Sadly, you do miss the shows. And we love the Muppets! But I'd sign my family up for DAH at HS during a hot, holiday weekend in a New York minute!

A few years ago (the first year Hollywood studios had the starwars fireworks) my stepfather just started to talk to a cast member, just having a normal conversation. Somehow It came up that both me and my stepfather were veterans, the cast member asked how many people were in out party, he then reached into his pocket and pulled out lanyards with after hour cards on them for our whole party for magic kingdom. So that goes to show if you be nice to a cast member, sometimes magic happens.

    We just purchased after hours for January. They are having one the day we arrive. Our flight arrives in the afternoon, and the park will close at 8pm. Getting a regular park ticket for that day did not make sense for just a couple of hours. Since we're only doing a short trip, this will be a great addition.

    So, another pro is that there are fewer little children! If you go to WDW as an adult, sometimes its nice to get away from a ton of children, and there are generally fewer children (or rather, fewer strollers!) at Disney After Hours. My husband and I did After Hours at the Magic Kingdom last September and it was fantastic--we loved it. Totally worth it for us.

    My girlfriend and I did it at Magic Kingdom last July and it was absolutely worth it. We arrived around 8ish, got something to eat, booked a fastpass and had a relaxing walk around. When the park was closed I think we ended up counting 14 rides. We ate and drank out weight in snacks and at one point we were the only 2 people in a splash mountain boat. While this won't apply to everyone, we also got free parking (I assume because we arrived later and they had met their quota for the day). We are going back to Disney in 2021 and I am really tempted to do after hours again

    Only 3 people in my group got MagicnHour tickets. We love thrill rides and we didnt have to worry about dragging people through the crowds or losing someone. We didn't know about he free ice cream and popcorn or bottle drinks, we thought the guy forgot to charge us (how do you forget that ik we are dumb). We didnt realize until we were leaving and we got A LOT of snacks for our family members who didnt come with us. If you like dressing up with certain outfits that aren't comfortable I'd suggest to bring another change of clothes so that you can be comfortable and enjoy your time because you paid a lot of money. Would totally recommend for Magic Kingdom

    I think it depends on when you go to the parks as well. I just got back and it wasn’t crowded at all. We only used a couple of the fast passes that I pre-planned 60 days out, mostly we waited the 5 minutes to get on rides. However, I can see the benefit of after hours especially since I’m from California and the time difference can effect your first few days. The three later hours wouldn’t put me out and it would be nice to sleep in the next day.

    I'd definitely love to go to the After Hours!! I just wish if was a little longer, for that price. Say maybe from 8.00pm to 1.00am so you get 5 hours for $125.00 'cause 125.00 dollars is even more expensive than a regular ticket, it's not almost as expensive, it's more expensive and I know you're paying for the food too but just maybe if it was 4 or 5 hours it'd be a better deal. It's just my opinion haha.

I meant that it'd be amazing if you could enter the park at 7 or 8pm if the park closed at that time for regular people which would mean you get 5 hours without any crowds and waits. Because yeah, it's cool that you can enter the park at 7pm but what's the point if it's gonna be crowded for 2-3 hours?
      Don't get me wrong, I really wanna try it because I think it's awesome and totally worth it to ride all the rides you may not be able to ride on a regular day. It's a great idea!! I was just pointing out the cons haha

Well, we're going back in March 2020 and at first only Disney Villains After Hours was going on, and although it was villains and we aren't too into that we thought we'd get tickets. I am glad I waited to get our tickets for it, because in the meantime more regular After Hours was announced for the times we are there, so I bought tickets for both of us. If you are going to pay over $100 for only 3 hours in a park, usually in late evening, are you really a) wanting to waste a good chunk of that time at a sit down meal waiting on a server and made to order food, and b) haven't you already had a dinner at a normal time anyways? If you want a Table service meal, that would be best during a regular hour of operation time.

    Just did AK and MK after dark hours the first week of April 2019. AK was great - they allowed 1/2 after park close to clear out most of the park. It really was a magical event. MK much different - After hours started at park close so the park was packed... During the event Mine train never went below 30 minutes. Peter Pan during the event showed 50 minutes. When I asked the cast member if that was accurate they said "yes". Lines for snacks very long taking even more time up. Spent 30 minutes on line to ride Astro Orbiter. I had heard about "walking onto rides" and "almost empty park" and that wasn't the case. After AK event my expectations were maybe too high or Disney is now allowing more and more people into the event. I would do it again but set my expectations much lower. I think it's really unfair that they don't give at least 1/2 hour for the park to close out and regular guests to be out of all the attraction lines.
