The way Emily said she's unlucky like no you're not you have a good job, get to wear expensive things, can easily get boyfriends, go to wonderful events, you are successful in countries you don't even speak the language of. How blind is this girl 😂
I have a lot of problems with this show myself so I am not trying to defend it. However, I do not think that a person who loses her pitch while performing topless deserves to be labeled as a prude. They didn't even show it as she was fully uncomfortable. It was just a little discomfort that impacted her performance. Speaking about other actors who refuse to play nude scenes, I do not think that all of them include non nudity clause just to keep their value high. Indeed, a naked body does not have to be sexual, but it is not the actors who sexualize and objectify their bodies, it is the viewers. I think that everyone deserves to be uncomfortable to go nude for any reason whithout being labeled anything, performer or not. Speaking about Mindy, she was standing her ground throughout the season, speaking up for herself, so I just don't understand why this little plot twist made you think less of her as a character. Also, Emily has been in Paris for about a year. One year. Not 4. It is not easy to learn French within 1 year given that you also have a full time job. They showed her attempts to take a course and she was not a bad student. Anyone who blames Emily for not mastering French within just one year either has never learned a foreign language or is simply xenophobic and is just looking for excuses. Sorry not sorry. The actress is fluent in French btw.
My point with the Mindy storyline was that I felt it was unnecessary and a disservice to the character. I don’t think Mindy needed to be topless in the show (this isn’t the type of show one would expect nudity from, which is fine), I just thought the writers wrote her a weird two episode arc with this Burlesque job for the sake of what exactly? They could have had her perform topless without actually showing it to us, or simply write her into a different show. Just felt disconnected is all, especially after writing her to be an incredibly confident woman 😊 As for the French, I admit I did think 4 seasons = 4 years, which I now realise is not the case. That said, one year living in Paris is absolutely enough time to be able to hold at the very least a rudimentary conversation - like I said, I know several people who learned foreign languages in a year because they’re forced to speak it when they move. I don’t blame Emily entirely, since everyone around her accommodates her English by default (I’ve learned several foreign languages and am not xenophobic, just a different opinion 🤗)
Gabriel is one of the most boring TV characters ever. Camille and shockingly even Emily deserves better than Gabriel. They have zero chemistry and he doesn't do anything but speak in that monotone voice and work at the restaurant. Literally being a chef is his only personality trait smh. Emily never has to take accountability for anything she does and the way everyone, esp men just fawn all over her for no reason is ridiculous lol. I honestly don't know why I'm still watching this mess lol. There's no character development. We still have no idea who Emily is. All we know is that she loves to work and men love her. We never hear about her life before Paris. I wish they would let her be with Marcello, someone she actually has chemistry with (she had chemistry with Alfie too but we all knew he was just filler and wasn't gonna last), but of course they have boring ass Gabriel gonna follow her to Roma for what? Just to be a boring couple? Atp, I guess I'm invested now bc I've come this far so I have to see where they take this foolishness. It truly is a shame though how many great, we'll written shows get cancelled every year yet we keep getting more seasons with Emily lol.

Emily in Paris got that slow burn effect. Maybe it's better for the show to actually start bad and become better over time, rather than start great and become shit. 😀
I cannot stand Gabriel with Emily! I want him to leave her alone and let her be happy with Marcello. But, they’ll be back. Camille should go back to Sofia too.
We’ve accepted pretty egregious things from this series, I think calling him hot is the least I can do. Bless him, yet another actor doomed to be an accessory to Emily’s European adventure. Let him have this 😓

13:55 being personally uncomfortable with showing parts of your body that are considered nudity has nothing to do with "being a prude" or not being sex positive. That's actually an insane take, low-key r*pe culture-y. You can say it felt out of character, but that's it

Just felt disconnected is all, especially after writing her to be an incredibly confident woman 😊
As for the French, I admit I did think 4 seasons = 4 years, which I now realise is not the case.
Italian here. The depiction of the launch in the village in Italy it's so fake and cliché and unrealistic. 😂
Emily roots around. She's a slapper.
Emily is a nepo baby too whatever her name is she's the daughter of Phil Collins
True
Emily in Paris got that slow burn effect. Maybe it's better for the show to actually start bad and become better over time, rather than start great and become shit. 😀
I cannot stand Gabriel with Emily! I want him to leave her alone and let her be happy with Marcello. But, they’ll be back. Camille should go back to Sofia too.
really enjoy your content & have watched some of your commentary for the shows that I haven't ever watched! keep (un)stuttering!
Marcello is just as boring as Gabriel. The nationality changed but theyre both boring
I know what you mean; they're both identikit, cardboard cut outs. Emily needs someone like the late Alain Delon.
Maybe marcello is going to play her like the cello ?
Don’t call this Italian guy Marcello HOT, please! Anyone who has been to Italy knows that's not true.
We’ve accepted pretty egregious things from this series, I think calling him hot is the least I can do. Bless him, yet another actor doomed to be an accessory to Emily’s European adventure. Let him have this 😓
@@paddyolten4031 he's cute, but definitely not a smokeshow
@@CiaLaVirago that's what I was told by most people so I need to go for Emily in Rome season 5 casting... Maybe I could be the intruder with Nico
She’s been there for a year and has just jumped from man to man to man. She needs to be single for a while. Doug, Gabriel, Matthieu, Timotheé, Thomas, Alfie, Gabriel again, Marcello… 🤦🏻♀️
Is the b slur baguette
Well I am gluten intolerant so… yup 😂
I have a humble request please please play games 🙏😭 I think it will be realllllly funnnnn!
❤😂❤
Series is so stupid I just can’t 😂 do they read script in between episodes? Like Ooooh Silvy saying things in paper will destrooooooy lvmh, first it’s nothing, second Marchello does not know the company is bad? Then what was all this build up for Silvys true then? All other plot lines pretty much in the same lines hehe
Don’t agree with the Nico take.
13:55 being personally uncomfortable with showing parts of your body that are considered nudity has nothing to do with "being a prude" or not being sex positive. That's actually an insane take, low-key r*pe culture-y. You can say it felt out of character, but that's it
30:57 no era una cena diaria 😅 sino el cumpleaños de una trabajadora.
PD: la voz de Alfie le sale exactamente igual jajaja amé.
And ppl think that Marcelo and Gabriel are like average French or Italian guy who fall in Love after 2 min for annoying American girl hahahahahhahaha yes right 🙄🙄🙄
