    I live in South Africa. I have always tried to avoid harmful toxins. I made our own soap (and household soap which is used for dishes and laundry and housecleaning} and even made it into a small business since I have several regular clients that buy soap from me now. It is not difficult to make cold-processed soap, it just takes accuracy and patience. I let them cure for at least 6 weeks before use and I can make different kinds. Goat milk soap with either lavender or neroli/bergamot/orange oils or even tea tree and peppermint are popular bath soap. Charcoal soap with lemongrass and tea tree is a good face soap and I make three different solid shampoo bars which make our hair shine and are compact and so easy to use. I even prepare a luxurious shaving bar for my husband and other male clients. Once you use artisan soap you will never go back to commercial soap.

    • @sweetykadyan
      @sweetykadyan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can u share some easy recipe please.

    • @TheNotsoignorant
      @TheNotsoignorant 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sweetykadyan Use an accurate scale and weigh everything accurately, even the liquids and wear gloves to protect your hands, also use protective plastic covers for your counters. My Coconut hair bars are made by melting 800g Virgin Coconut oil and 200g castor oil over a low flame. In a separate glass bowl (do not use a metal bowl for this) Gradually mixing 400ml semi-frozen Coconut milk with 146g good quality caustic soda little by little, putting it in the freezer to cool in between mixing to keep the mixture cool so that it does not scorch the milk (the lye mixture heats up as a chemical reaction). Leave the oil to cool to about 37deg Celsius (100deg farenheit) and add 15g powdered laundry blue (I use mortar & pestle to crush it) TO THE MILK MIXTURE, add the lye and milk mixture to the oil and blend the mixtures together with an immersion blender until the mixture starts to thicken to a pudding-like consistency. Quickly stir in 15g Eucalyptus oil thoroughly into the mixture before it thickens completely and pour into soap molds or 2L plastic ice-cream container. Leave it 24hrs and then measure and cut into bars with a sharp knife. Place them on a clean dish towel and leave it to cure for a month. They are then ready to use. These hair bars make your hair shine like crazy, clean thoroughly but gently and is wonderful for people with grey hair since it keeps the hair white and stops yellowing of hair. Use them just as you would use liquid shampoo. Wet hair, massage with the soap until a rich lather is formed, rinse thoroughly with clean water. That's it! You're welcome!

    Brother, also one thing i would like to add to your already great knowledge. Good ayurveda doctors recommend bathing with triphala powder to people who have extremely sensitive skin or some skin itching allergy.
    I can vouch for it coz my father has the same and he has been bathing with triphala powder from about 2 years now and his skin problems are not at bare minimum!
    Triphala powder is very costly online but you can get 1 kg for about 120 rupees at local ayurveda/kiryana shop.

    Good analysis, as always! But one aspect that seems to be missed is pH of the soap on skin. Sensitive skins prone to excema and similar skin problems require a bar that nourishes and keeps skin bacteria in tact. This will require pH5.5 (slightly acidic). Please examine this angle too next time. Thank you for your unbiased investigative consumer education.🙏

    • @jhsofficialbluray4573
      @jhsofficialbluray4573 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i will not recommended to watch his video because of ayurveda isn't scientific and he also spread so much misinformation only thing true he said is that use fragrance free soap which is good for some conditions but fragrance aren't harmful they are just alregic to some people if you don't have problems with fragrance or you don't have any skin condition feel free to use soap with fragrance.
      i will recommend to you to check real dermatologist on TH-cam they give real information

      @saijeetammineedi7903 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To begin with it's appropriate to point out that plain water itself is pH neutral - not acidic. Thus washes off some of the good bacteria. So I've seen extreme views documented, of minimum bathing to 'protect' the skin bacteria! But, this level of caution may be needed only in extreme cases of dry skin. Most normal cases should do with pH neutral soaps like Dove or Pears ( glycerine).

    We can make our own soaps at home and even customize them. All one needs to do is melt and pour in your favorite mould.
    You can order your preferred soap base for e.g. glycerine soap base, goat milk soap base, etc. These are all organic and contain no chemicals at all. Lastly, if you want your soap to smell good, you could add a few drops of essential oils like lavender, rosemary, etc.
    Soap making hardly takes 10 minutes. For details of the process, there are a lot of youtube channels.
