ICM 1/48 kits are so underrated. The detail is amazing as is the fit, and up until recently the price was incredible. I pretty much built their entire line of Spitfires in the late 90's early 2000's.
Just picked this kit up today at the 2023 Australian Model Expo for 25% off so I’m happy, I’ve wanted a 1/48 He-111 for many years so I look forward to your videos on it. 👍
If you take a look at the real aircraft with camouflage paint (not just the HE 111) rivet detail disappears at any kind of distance at all. You have to be pretty close to see the rivets, i.e. don't worry about the rivets and certainly don't use a wash to make them pop, it doesn't look very realistic.
@@RWHobbies Going to be a bit before I get to it. I am working on the Takom 1/35 Konigstiger with full interior. Nearing the end of the build so hopefully in a few weeks I will get to the plane.
Hiya man, only just found your channel subscribed straight away, allways loved the looks of the 111 very pleasing i built loads of them as a kid, definitely going to get another one soon.
Having just watched a comparison video of the OLD Revell kit, this one is much nicer. NOTE! The "NEW" Revell He-111-H6 kit (No. 03683) is actually an ICM Reboxing with, I assume new decals. You also get parts for other versions in the kit - such as Externall bombs AND Torpedoes, so you can go mad if you want to make a version other than the one the kit is supposed to be. It's a bargain, whether you buy the Revell offering or the original ICM Boxing! Beware the Revell kit is in a bot twice the size of the much more sensible Sturdy, ICM offering.
@@memkiii , thanks. The best course would be to buy several of the Revell re-box of the ICM kit, to make as many variants as possible. The most efficient approach to this would be to build them simultaneously. Thank you for your information. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
@@RWHobbies No worries. Found the issue. The ammo holder attachment to the fuselage says D1-28. It should say D2-8!! Couldn't find the error for looking! Cheers bud.
Hi,i want to build the H 111,is it a difficult Model?I am from Germany, i don't understand too much of your Videos.Do i need Aftermarket Products? Is the fitting good?
@@RWHobbies I’m thinking as soon as I finish this Monogram 111, I’ll put together the ICM H-6 I have, but I couldn’t find a H-6 build video. Going to have to watch this series.
You have to understand with social media, whether right or wrong they do not allow it. So if I put pics on my channel or my FB group, my channel would get a strike and video/ pics removed. It is a free platform so have to play by the rules. If you buy the kit, then you can pick up swastika decals pretty easily online and apply them yourself. Richie
@@paulhargreaves1497 well yes of course. How can you build an accurate kit of a subject if the things that make it what it is are missing? Why can we build Soviet aircraft complete with red star and 'for Stalin' decals?
That's a justified discussion topic. For now: Just get aftermarket decals. In the end it's an economic decision, so the same kit can be sold unmodified in every country. Germany for example has a strong personal interest in a swastika ban. Doesn't render the kit worthless. Worthless would be major flaws in countless shapes and terrible molding along with low quality decals at a steep price.
"Hey up" what a great start for a video ... from a yorkshireman transplanted in Australia :) definitely put a smile on my face

These were dirt cheap 3 years ago. More expensive now. But no issues with the build.

The kit is a lovely kit. I have the He 111H-16 one. Its next in line to be built.
Yes, went together well. Enjoy!

Nice new build Richie, interesting subjsect
I’m looking forward to starting this within the next year. Looks like a joy to build!
Build it airborne, with a Hawker Hurricane RAF Mk I coming fast, 6 o'clock low, its guns blazing! (I hope they are four 20mm Hispano Suisse cannons!)

Welcome aboard. Richie
Wait a minute, Richie and Eddie as in the Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmundson characters from the tv series Bottom? 😂😂😂.
How does this ICM kit compare with the Revell/Monogram kit of years past, please?
I can’t compare as never seen that kit. But ICM produces some quality stuff.

Hi. Question regarding step 25 which is part D1-28. That part looks nothing like the part on the sprue, Did you run into that problem, very confused?
No idea buddy. I built this model a year ago.

Yes, this is a challenging model not for a behinner.
Is this kit very similar to the H-6?
Assuming so. I think all the ICM He.111 kits probably go together the same way, just with some minor differences for the versions.

If it doesn't have swastika decals it's not an accurate model and is therefore worthless.
