George Michael's original is a beautiful song that will never be replaced. But this just gives it a completely different, haunting, epic vibe. One of my favorite Seether tracks.
So true!
George Michael's song reminds me about the first time feeling embarrassed before a crush.
Seether's version feels like I just horribly and irreversibly messed up my life. And I love it.
The only bad thing about good songs is that they always end.
*Puts on loop

😱
@@hosseinnafisi5725 yea but then eventually you get to the point that you can't stand the song anymore
I loved the original, but seether kills it in an awesomely haunting way: “Pain is ALL you’ll find” and that guitar
Just raw 🫶
True 👌
what about this ?

Got to be one of the best covers out there.
agreed. Nora Jones "Black Hole Sun" is pretty awesome too. More haunting then awesome really. its live and amazing.
Lets not get carried away

Almost as good as Disturbed's cover of The Sounds of Silence!
@Wesleech thanks, loved it!
Great cover, ignore the cry babies.

This is one of those rare occasions where the cover is better than the original. Still rockin in 2024
I'm an Uber driver had the drummer in my car he wasn't goina say who he was but someone with him had a seather shirt on so i told them how much i love the way they did this song he told me when they did it they never expected it to be on an album I'm glad it was
BEST COVER!!! Still jamming in 2024!!!
Heck yea we are!
Same!!🤘
Look at... - Paavo Laapotti- careless whisper.
My only argument to this is Pearl Jam's cover of Last Kiss
Damn right; keep jamming bro 🤘🏻💯
That "please stay!" Part really hits you in the heart when you're feeling it
Tbh I find the feeling of sadness deeper in this cover than to the original version & it’s kinda rare for me to prefer a cover
Don't listen to Smith and Myers then, you will prefer the cover to the original of many songs you love.
@@Grand_History no one asked you, you don't even know good music
@@Grand_History This isn't metal. Also, your channel is trash. Let me help your ratios out. 😉
@@Grand_History ??? It is tho? It's a genre of music.
this is more angsty and i love it
"ignorance is kind, theres no comfort in the truth" hits so fucking hard
To say they nailed this cover is an understatement. They absolutely destroyed this cover. I mean absolutely massacred. He sang his heart out on this one. He poured his heart and soul into singing this and you can feel the pain.
I agree
Oh yes
This is one of the few covers that I love more than the original, and I absolutely love the original.
Oh come man, stop bullshitting us with this "his heart out" thing. This is heavy metal, and by the way, I'm a George Michael fan, but I can honestly say that just right now I've loved this song. Because I could never ever undeestand what was the deal about the original version. Boring and ummature!
I love this cover. One of the few songs where I love both the cover and the original on the same level
Almost. I do like this cover a lot but I was like 13 when Careless Whisper/GM came out. He was so passionate when he sang that song.
Right!?
No lol 😅
The best cover in the history of covers.
Rip to the front man’s brother. This song rocks
as a tenor saxophonist, Careless Whisper is a song that sounds best on guitar
As an alto saxophonist,... I agree. But we do love it on the saxophone😈
Wait sax has those labels like singing does!?
no way. the guitar sounds bad ass but the sax in the OG just hits a way nothing else can touch
@MCR_ADDICT yes sir, they are different size saxophones
I feel so unsure
As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies
Something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen
And all its sad goodbyes
I'm never gonna dance again
These guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste the chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you
Time can never mend
The careless whispers of a good friend
To the heart and mind
Ignorance is kind
There's no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you'll find
I'm never gonna dance again
These guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste the chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you
Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We've hurt each other with the things we want to say
We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
Now who's gonna dance with me?
Please stay
I'm never gonna dance again
These guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should've known better than to cheat a friend
And waste this chance that I've been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you
The original was such a memorable song, but this is a solid tribute. Very well done! Wouldn't have thought a song like this could be metalized, but hot damn.
i just lost my closest friend last week, she would have been 31 today, this song has a new meaning to me. RIP Bunny...
Sorry for your lose.

As good as it gets, original included. For all of us with the taste for heavier music, this is it. George Michael original for all the rest. Everyone happy.
This was definitely the best band to rock this gem.
Sitting here at home, severely depressed for the last 5-6 years after having struggled with depression since age 10 and now age 30, this song hits hard... it allows me to cry, to let flow my pain, my emotions, my sadness, grief, anger and uncontrollable melancholy... The times where I lived my life, the time before my first ex broke my heart, the ex's that followed that had so much pain and grief with it, but I pushed through... then covid hit, I finally cracked big time... I've been up and down, meds, no meds, anti depressants, switching to a new one in the hospital several months ago and now going through the pain of switching once more at home. These past few weeks have been hell... I've got a friend of mine to visit, she loves me I can tell... but my emotions, anxiety and insecurity of my future is all I find... The lyrics "I'm never gonna dance again, these guilty feet have got no rythm" resonate with me on a whole different level than most could even imagine, yet I'm writing this in the hopes that a like minded soul will read this and find strength in the fact that you're not alone out there, there are others like you. And right now it seems nigh impossible for me to recover, but I know I can.. I've seen the light before and I can see the light again eventually... I feel hurt, broken, alone even though Ive got a loving family, but the pain and sadness I'm going through is unbearable to go through alone, yet with someone who loves me so close by I cant even get it in my head to be able to fullfill her desires of exploring my country. I'm sitting here home alone now while they're out there, hoping theyre having a good time, but its just been tears today... I try and try so much yet... it feels hopeless. But the demon inside me can fuck off, I'm myself and I'm trying my damnest to make it through every single day. The song hits home with the fact that I've had so many friends that I've become estranged to due to pulling back in my own bubble, to minimize the uncontrollable emotions I'm experiencing... Suicidal thoughts, fear of losing more people, fear of letting people down, fear of not becoming better, fear of not being able to work again in my life since I've been declared unfit to work... that I'll be a medication zombie the rest of my life and yet even that seems bleak.... Benzodiapines are my life line now yet even they cant numb me enough to get me through the day without my anxiety and fears....
I'm sorry for this wall of text but I suddenly got hit by an uncontrollable sense of grief, saddness, sorrow and pain and I felt that I needed to put this out there, at least just for myself so I can get the words down when I'm at my lowest... to document the pain... the struggle and to be able to one day look back at this with a smile, instead of looking back at my best with constant sadness of missed opportunites and feeling like a complete and utter failure....
to whomever might read this.. thank you for taking the time. I dont plan on leaving this world anytime soon, I'm getting the help I'm needed at the end of this month hopefully and I'm calling the hospital right now to discuss if I can do anything to help myself through this weekend.
you matter in life and so do I, the string of light I'm desperately clinging onto
Chin up brother, you’ve got this. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. Sorry you’re going through it, but you’ll get through it.
If you need anyone to talk just know i am here to listen, at least after 3:30 at beirut's clock, i would be in college
Holy shit dude, you just almost perfectly described how I'm feeling this last couple of years. 30 too and it's only gotten so much worse. Came out of a 4 year relationship 4 months ago and I still haven't recovered. Even before that I am.... Bad, very bad mentally. It's why my relationship ended. All my days are just anxiety, depression, negative thoughts, cycle and repeat. I don't feel like a person or even properly "alive" anymore.
Don't worry about your wall of text, it got through to somebody. We'll see if I make it through the month but I'm sure I'll at least make it through the night.
@@cads4737 keep your head up dude, I ended up calling the hospital I was doing that bad, had to since my regular doctor was closed at the time. My new meds are starting to work, that being my anti depressants and at least for now I'm feeling more calm , stable and able to tackle some therapy which will start at the end of the month. I'm hoping that my possible positive outlook can give you strength and know that one day you'll be able to look back at today with a smile and a sense of pride knowing you didn't give in .
Fuerza hermano!!!
I was absolutely blown away by this cover. I found it by accident. I actually didnt know they did a cover. But Im dumbfounded. I would have never thought it would sound good in a metal cover but Seether kills it. Its hard to choose a favorite. Better than the original. The grit in his voice is just so good. Got to see him perform this live.
Nah, this cover could be released 15 more times and still can't be better than the original. Although Seether's cover is the best cover of Careless Whisper.
Accidentally clicked on this song and this is absolutely masterpiece

Been a George fan for 39yrs, and I think he would have loved this, the pathos and feeling are all there. So impressed with this, best cover of this I've heard.

I'll be completely honest. The guitar at the start got me giggling, but the moment the vocals came in, I got goosebumps!
I thought I was the only one n kept scrolling to ultimately find you here
I was skeptical in the opening, but once the lyrics came on, I was in awe
Truly amazing, I can hear the feelings in your voice, and the pain in the guitar

Beautiful, Seether! I Absolutely LOVE this Cover of Yours, All of them) 😁, and always really Love that guitar solo in the ending! This cover is one of the most beautiful ones out there, where I have a love for both the songs at the same level. The essence, emotion is the same but the rendition is different :)

Give Last Kiss by Pearl Jam. It’s incredible. Straight up emotion, one of the best covers of any song I’ve ever heard. A little (a lottle) bit painful though, it is about a man who’s lost his love to a car accident.
It is good to see bands posting their songs and not just having some studio channel posting music from everyone they license.
This is the way to sing this!

This turned a new generation on to George Michael. I'm not a "fan" of Seether, but we owe them a debt for this. They nailed it so hard. Wait and see, this will be covered for decades. The lyrics will never age.
