How about a pilot rescue mission? You could have a c-47 fly to a downd pilot and drop supply for him while being escorted by 4 Spitfires. On their way back they could be jumped by German fighters. (For some reason my comment keeps getting deleted)
I checked and realised I should have been more specific. I meant an air-sea rescue type of mission, however an airlift mission sound more interesting. I am gonna look more into this story, it sounds interesting
