Anchor the Octopus! Love it! I found and bought this pattern AGES ago and I can't believe it has taken this long for the crochet community to take notice. I have not made the full size Anchor, only the mini size, and it is awesome. Looks so complicated but is totally doable. Also I'm with you on the Bernat Blanket. I have scads of Parfait Chunky but lately I have been so into BB that it's just sitting around! Agree on 6.5mm for the hook size. I love your colors - I may have to make my first full-size Anchor in those colors!
I literally just came to the comments to see if anyone else thought this as well! It's a nursing pillow! I think I still have my boppy from 25 years ago lol!
After watching this I bought a valari pillow, got it today and let me tell ya...Life changing!! I've been using it while I game and crochet and so far it's taken stress off my shoulders as well as helped keep my elbows more neutral to help with my cubital tunnel! Thanks for the code for the pillow and sharing good tips for staying comfy while crafting!
OMG! I am new to the crochet world and really have to add plushies to my list! That giant octo is epic! And I am obsessed with manatee's so I will need to do that too. I better live to be 273 years old...I have a lot of stuff on my to-do list! HA HA!
This is absolutely beautiful I was looking for an octopus pattern for my Son because he is obsessed with sea animals and especially 🐙 and I thought this pattern was very pricy compared to most patterns but it is just so cute! I’m gonna have to buy it and make this for him for Christmas ❤
@@hooksandheelers I am! 😂 I was cheering you on the whole video! I'm also impressed with how well you handled having to frog and redo all those tentacles. I would have been so mad 😂😂
I made the patchwork moose version of this in blanket yarn and hes pretty close to 4ft tall from tentacle to head. Hes huge! Took me probably 30 hours to make
Your Anchor is amazing! I have the pattern, just need to get the right yarn 🥰 Thanks for sharing about thevalari; I placed an order for one because I NEED to take care of my back ❤ I used your code 😉🥰 also your doggies are adorable!
I feel you on the bad habit of reading the bare minimum of instructions. I do that all the time. Most recently, I had to frog half the head of an amigurumi I’m working on three times. It looks so much better now that I’ve read the pattern. 😅
I am so guilty of not fully reading a pattern and messing it up and having to redo it. Youd think after so many times id learn but I still do it😂 also I play the sims too❤
Ugh I can’t seem to get the suckers and the arm the same length so when I try to crochet them together one ends up being longer every time .. must be a tension issue
Thank you so much! I use L’Oréal telescopic. They have a few different ones but I just use the original black and I’ve been using it for like ten years now, I’m obsessed with it!
Hi everyone, someone can help me? I bought the pattern and I don’t understand if I buy one of each yarn ( I found the reference) . Are they enough for one octopus? Thank me I’m not english so I hope I don’t misunderstand something.
Beginner here, so apologies in advance for the silly question, but is there a benefit/difference to using a 6.5mm hook vs. the 7mm hook suggested by the pattern? Or just preference? I purchased the pattern a few days ago and am gathering my supplies and tools and I want to use the size that is best. I have both. Thank you!
So im curious... I bought the pattern and im sure i made the same mistake with the tentacles that you did. All the videos I've watched that have bobble stitches say to pop them out. Am i not supposed to do that? Also on the other side i did put the wrong side out too lol
You could try going up a hook size. I'm working this pattern too. I started working the chain with an L/8mm hook then switched to a K/10.5 hook. You could always spray/pin block the tentacles over night to see what happens. Its my first time working with Bernat Blanket yarn its tricky. Best of luck, hope this helps.
@@hooksandheelers true dang I wish I had thought of that when making stuff cuz i just think about softness. I always wanna use the softest yarn but for washing purposes ig that’s not good to go by.

Yes the Valari pillow is so nice! I crochet, game, cross-stitch, and diamond paint while using it and it’s so comfy. Your octopus came out so cute!
You can tell who is a parent when the pillow comes and and the immediate thought is, that’s a Boppy!
I literally just came to the comments to see if anyone else thought this as well! It's a nursing pillow! I think I still have my boppy from 25 years ago lol!
Hahahaha😂 I’m sure that would work too!!

I love how u used a solid color and variegated color. Looks amazing
I clicked on this so FAST! I’ve made 5 of these last week 😅 it’s such a fun pattern!
Hahaha I'm obsessed!! And thank you so much for watching!
It looks cool on the couch 👏🏻
I don’t think the tentacle mistake was noticeable, but I can understand it bothering you since you noticed it.
I absolutely love this pattern! Also very excited to have a new use for my old nursing pillow 🙃
I have this pattern. I haven’t made it yet, but now I can’t wait to.
You’re going to have so much fun, it’s a great one! 😊
SOOOOOOOOO COOL! Love the colors, too! Like you, I’ve been digging blanket yarn lately, too! ☺️🫶🏻🧶💚🤍
Thank you so much!! The blanket yarn is definitely growing on me! (:

lol same here! I just started a couple months ago and my list is getting longer with every video I watch 😂😭
So big! I love it so much! Just watched the premier and LOVED IT! 😊

Those are really good colors for him! 😍 He turned out great!!

I bought the mini version of this pattern and I can’t wait to make it! I might need to purchase the bigger one too now. Yours turned out beautiful ❤🐙
I made the patchwork moose version of this in blanket yarn and hes pretty close to 4ft tall from tentacle to head. Hes huge! Took me probably 30 hours to make
It turned out really cute! Blanket yarn kills my hands, so I gravitate towards chenille yarn.
Im in love with this and the colours you chose! I definitely have to get this pattern! ❤️
So cute I think you should do more of them and each one a different color like a rainbow 🌈 ❤😊
Just wanted to say, I love the cardigan you're wearing at like 5 minutes in.
Thank you so much!! The pattern is the Poppy cardigan from Evelyn and Peter (:
I was so intimidated to start but now it looks so easy

I have had this in my cart since @Staceymakes showed hers. I may need to buy it now

WOW this worked up amazing! Those colors are gorgeous. GG :D
So cute!!!!! Feel u about the tentacles, It will just bug you in the future if you don't fix it. ❤
I just bought this pattern!

Super cool how much yarn did you need

WHY DID NO ONE GIVE HER APPLAUSE?!
Here u go 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I did not realize this pattern only needed one skein of the main color. Good to know
It’s actually 2 skeins of the main color, I just forgot to show it in the video!
@@hooksandheelers Thats even better to know. Thanks for telling me 😄
Great video! Now excuse me while I go buy this pattern. It’s so cute and now I need one for my couch!
Great job!
thank you so much! (:
Awesome ❤❤❤😊
I want to make one of those!
They’re so fun!! (:
Did you make the cardigan you’re wearing?? It’s so cute & intricate! 🥰💖🌸
I love the sweater you are wearing. Do you have a link to the pattern?
I want to make this so badly!!!!!🎉
You have to, they're so fun!
Ahh! I also just made a big octopus! Yours is bigger though
This is off topic but what mascara do you use?? Your lashes are lovely it makes your eyes pop!
Thank you so much! I use L’Oréal telescopic. They have a few different ones but I just use the original black and I’ve been using it for like ten years now, I’m obsessed with it!
i love it! do you think you’d be making more? even if it was with different yarn?
Thank you! 🩷 I definitely want to make more with chenille yarn! The designer also has a smaller version that I might try!
Hi everyone,
someone can help me? I bought the pattern and I don’t understand if I buy one of each yarn ( I found the reference) . Are they enough for one octopus? Thank me I’m not english so I hope I don’t misunderstand something.
Those are arms. They do not have tenticles. 👍🏻

How many skeins did you use?
For the life of me, I cannot get my tentacle to work out straight like yours. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! Maybe tension?

Hola y cuánto se vende uno así?
How many skeins of each color did you use?
One of each
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m 😞 where is your pattern at the top?
For anyone who has made this pattern, how much sewing is involved?
There isn't much sewing at all! Just the back of the head and the underbelly
Some body can tell me the pattern name please?
If you can’t wash chenille yarn how are ppl gonna clean their baby stuff made with it like blankets or loveys
That’s a good point! I think people tend to use blanket yarn for those things because it holds up really well in the wash (:
@@hooksandheelers true dang I wish I had thought of that when making stuff cuz i just think about softness. I always wanna use the softest yarn but for washing purposes ig that’s not good to go by.
Who made this pattern?
Humble Child co on Etsy! Linked in the description (:
I would not know the difference.
So what... There is no reason that you would have to frog them or throw then out.
I didn’t throw them out! I reused the yarn to fix it (:
It's not that massive. I was expecting it to be as big as you at least. And you're pretty tiny
How many skeins of yarn did you use?
2 of the main color and 1 of the contrasting color! (:
@@hooksandheelers Thank you!! I can’t wait to make this Octopus!
