@@WindWardPawsI got lost a few times but that's just because I'm very slow in processing information!! I just need to watch it a couple more times, thanks for the video!!
I’m not a furry or anything like that but I DO use A LOT of yarn for my crafts and wanted to add that 1: acrylic yarn is already super soft, but will get EVEN SOFTER if you wash it like you would wash your clothes! You can just stick the entire ball (without the paper) into the washer OR I like to put them inside a pillow case and tie the end shut with a knot or hair tie to keep the yarn from coming out and unraveling! (Most brands of acrylic yarn are both washer and dryer safe, but the paper label around the yarn will tell you for sure so make sure you read that and be safe with your materials!) And 2: if you need cheap yarn brands- at least for my area- both Red Heart and Big Twist brands are usually less than $3 per yarn ball with tons of color options! I just bought blacklight reactive neon yarn from big twist and I’m pumped to use it! (Maybe I should also try making a tail to hang on my art wall?!?)
@2._Double_Trouble_.1 I would say for most projects, washing it before you use it is probably “easier”, but I personally know a BUNCH of people who will wash whole blankets or sweaters after they make them to make them softer. Washing the whole project may not work for this specific kind of project though since the yarn gets brushed out, and washing it after that might make it get matted up unpleasantly. (I hope that makes sense)
I love how you specified you werent a furry or stuff like that but you didnt hate, instead you gave tips about yarn, we need more people to be like you ❤

May I ask why we need to braid the tail, and how exactly do we tie it? I'm autistic and sometimes need extra info on things if I dont really understand.
Braiding the center of the tail instead of using one single strand or a collection of loose strands provides more stability and a thicker base to tie the tufts onto. If you're talking about tying the braid, use a small piece of yarn to tie the three long pieces that you'll be braiding with together. After braiding, tie the end with another small piece of yarn. I will do a cat tail next but i dont know if i will brush the fur out because it will take forever but i will update ❤
It helped a lot I wanted to make a tail but it was my first time and my tail was for a serval cat the big ones that look like cheetah I am pretty sure they are also called savanna cats but I’m not sure (sorry if there are things spelled wrong or marks I did not add) overall I loved the video and I think your tail is gorgeous
i started and so far im halfway done with my second row of yarn!! I'm a little tired but I also really wanna finish this tail and wear it so I'm pushing through!! XD
it’s not the norm, but I’m making a red, orange, and yellow tail! I’m a phoenix kin and I remember I had a long sort of tail feather that functioned similar to a cat’s tail! I’m super excited to finish this project. thanks for the tutorial!!
wait zephyr can you make like a different video on how to make the bundles?
it wasn’t super clear how to fold them and where to tie them, i literally cannot make the yarn stay while brushing and idk how i’m supposed to fold it
is the bundle just one long string? and wdym the “top” of the bundle
I might yeah, a lot of people have been asking about it. I'm honestly really bad at explaining stuff tho, so this was kinda the best I could explain it :/
I'm pretty busy so I'll do it when I have the time
@ alr gl lol
Thank you I've been trying to make a tail and this really helped
Could you maybe at the end of making the tail, brush the whole thing down with the brush, it makes it less chunky and more flowy
You can but I've always had better results from brushing each individually and then tying them. You can also brush them after tying them for a smoother look!
@@WindWardPaws yeah, but like what you did, you brush them individually and then tie them on, and then after you finish the tail you brush the whole thing down so the big chunks of fluff dont stand out, but dont listen to me u do whatever ♥️ i love your tails
Very useful! Thanks for making this for us :D /positive
Just wondering, will a sharp plastic comb work
You can certainly try it! It won't work as well though.
It works when I first tried I used one❤
Questions i need to know: Can i use a hairbrush? What yarn do you use?(i have milk cotton)
me in the corner not knowing how to braid
Don’t worry you ain’t alone
This was a really helpful video thank you! Also can I ask roughly how much yarn does one tail use up?
It depends on the length! I'd say a little less that one bundle thingy for most tho!
@@WindWardPaws Thank you
OMGGG ARE YOU MY NEW THERIAN FRIEND!!!!
Haha not really
Iv just started mine! Im going to make some for friends who cant get one! Also if you want u can add one of those tough hair ties at the end to make it so if pulled it wont break!
I have lots of spare yarn and this vid helped me use it in a way I need TYSM
Best tutorial I've found :D
OMG, I’ve really loved one of your TikTok’s and I was watching this tutorial and I didn’t even notice it was the same TH-camr he he he he he he
