Tips: we do not usually refer “太阳眼镜” to sunglasses, though 太阳=sun眼镜=glasses. Concerning about the property, especially the colour, 墨镜（coloured-glasses)is more appropriate and more usually seen or heard. Btw the word 镜can also refer to mirror besides lens. This word can be break down into three parts(钅立 and a part like 見), the first/left part means the metal as metal for example the copper was widely utilised among ancient Chinese as the mirror for its special property to reflect light. 立means standing while 見means look. So a man standing in front of a piece of metal and look at himself, that’s the 镜 refers. But with the development and communication, the meaning of the word镜 gradually changed. And it’s now wide known something that can change the light(reflect or focus etc.) Now thumb up this comment ❤
