I live in Columbus Ohio and chimaira was huge seeing how they ate from Cleveland. In 2006 I seem them here and I smoked a joint with Jim after the show lol
This band needs more recognition with tours and how big they were in the early 2000’s, it is a shame they are so under represented in reactions.

I was listening to Chimaira a lot in my teenage years. It's such a shame they are not around anymore but you guys should check out Rob Arnold's channel (He was the lead guitarist), really cool dude down to earth and has a lot of good anectodes about the band back then on top of being a riffmaster :)

Do some Chimiara from their first album, it has a groove metal/thrash with some numeral. It’s not like Machine Head’s NuMetal phase, it’s actually good in my opinion lol

You've done at least two other Chimaira songs and Sori loved them, but Vin wasn't a fan of the vocals. It was good to see you both rocking out to this one. They were an amazing band, though it took a while for me to get used to the vocals as well. This song was on my list to eventually get you to react to, but now that this one is done I would recommend Cleansation, Black Heart, and Resurrection.

Also, I don't know if I'd really consider Chimaira's guitar playing to be complicated lol. They are definitely riff monsters, though.
It's one of those things you have to get into the "groove", vibe, or it won't come together, sound right. When the right people are in one element, it becomes a masterpiece. Not easily done.

So to add some clarity this week is lees about mental health in all it's facets. It's about the progression of one's loss of self and how it isn't temporary or immediate but a slow culmination of things through out life that stack until you break under the weight. How I don't belive in it as an illness in the sense of something curable but more of a deformation of the psyche or disability of the mind.

Suicide is never an easy subject to talk or think about. I've been there. I knew exactly when I was going to do it, I just didn't know how. It's not always planned, and those who don't speak about it are in the most danger. I know, I was one of them. Robin Williams and Chester Bennington are two examples I always use as examples of people who have it all, yet have nothing, in their minds. Depression is an evil bitch. It can make you believe stuff you NEVER thought you'd even think about, let alone believe as truth. My heart goes out to all who suffer from mental illnesses. There is help out there, just try your best to reach out. It's not always easy, and the stigma needs to go away.
