There’s a bit of irony to Shiro’s statement as…he didn’t die, even after becoming a Hero of Justice and a Guardian. He got so fed up with not dying he decide to kill himself in the most of epic of ways cause it was handed to him by the grail by poxy of Rin…which again ironically still caused Shiro to continue his way to still try to become the Hero of Justice Only by Sakura’s route he abandoned that path…which is strange enough - the only route Archer did not affect the events as he did not have the time

I love Ryougi so much, she's probably my favorite female character, I love her design and how they made her talk like a boy after SHIKI left. I enjoyed knk so much, it left a very deep impression on me. Oh BTW if you wanna know if this is a good anime or not then firstly I wouldn't recommend it to you if you're expecting it to be like Fate or having beams and action going on non-stop. You'll bore yourself to death and probably skip scenes if that's what you're expecting just because its done by Ufotable. It takes the brain to understand especially the epilogue. If you're a patient and brain-absorbing person who for i.e watches storytelling slice of life or enjoyed Studio Ghibli movies then I totally recommend it to you. You'll love it. Knk left a VERY good and deep impression on me. Like for some reason my heart feels depressed and happy at the same time. Enjoy it.

It is said that in this part, she uses self-suggestion to fight Araya. While using it, her entire body is said to transform into a self that is solely for battle. It's said that she doesn't even need to breath while using self-suggestion. Also, even though it's not said here, Araya notices a personality change in Shiki while she uses Self-suggestion, saying she becomes someone other than Shiki or SHIKI. Regardless of that, this right here is Ryougi Shiki in her most powerful form. Nasu said that Shiki vs a Shiki who uses self-suggestion, would be like the corpses present in the building fighting her, as shown earlier in the film.
Nah OP is talking about Ryougi Shiki (I think). Most members of her family would have two personalities, but Shiki is different in that she actually has three. Well, technically one, the Shiki that’s connected to the Root. This Shiki created the other two Shikis we’re more familiar.
Although the third, most powerful persona existed, it's not her. It's just the usual Shiki with moral boost and sword in hand (she's more capable handling katana than a knife). Araya just confused by how Shiki become significantly more powerful just by holding a katana.
The music and animation in this is just so good. The camera is shaky and moves a lot but the animation is so pristine and clean you catch every movement. A lot of action gets lost in some Animes when the attempt to do this but, you can see every move nearly blow for blow in Kara no Kyoukai. Ufotable really does amazing work.

The animation and fight scenes were Soo beautifully done by ufotable in The Garden of Sinners!!! I only recently watched these movies in June 2021, and I was blown away by how high-quality and consistently good these movies were especially for 2007!!! It was on the same level as Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night: [Unlimited Blade Works], very impressed how for how long ufotable had been this good. And the music was Soo beautiful and touching!!! Shiki and Mikiya were so perfect for each other!
in Kara no kyoukai we see Araya as this creepy, extremelly powerful figure. We truly feel that he is dangerous. in Lord el melloi case files we learn that there are dozens guys like him.....

@Tony Mx You can blame that on the poor adaptation of most of the Type Moon anime. By contrast, their novels and visual novels are godly. It's not the series's fault they got piss poor adaptation that don't fully convey the plot.
@Tony Mx For the main Fate series you don't need to read the VNs to understand, but they adapted some aspects poorly which is why people recommend playing the games(they cut out a lot of Shirous monologues, a lot of cut content in Heavens Feel). In KnK, it's the same in the light novels as it is in the film series. It's purposely confusing to give a bigger payoff once you understand, and on rewatch everything makes way more sense and the experience is way better.
These were released between 2007-2013! The animation and the music….absolutely beautiful… I like to think this is what helped the studio make Demon Slayer - the themes are similar as are the animation. Probably the fight was longer and the imagery used was stronger than the animation. I still like this version cuz of the soundtrack though. Personally, if you watch this scene mute(without subs) it becomes a "what the fuck is going on and why the camera going crazy" moment.
The ending was also slightly better in the novel. In the movie they both fall down from the building, while in the novel Araya simply teleports on the garden outside. Thanks to her ability to see in the future, Shiki already knew where he was going to teleport, so she jumps from the 10th floor and reaches Araya the moments he appears, cutting his remaining arm and half of his body. His remaining bounded field and the sacred bones in his arm ironically saved her from the impact of the fall. The movie version is cooler, but the novel makes more sense. I mean why would Araya risk falling from that height? Then he dies standing still like a statue. A fitting end for someone with the origin of stillness.
No useless monologue that drag the fight, no unnecessary flash back, no long talk between the combatants. Just two characters fight it out. This fight is what I wish more in anime. Monologue and flashbacks are fine on their own right if done correctly but too much can ruin the pace of the fight.

This whole movie was so... Dunno how to describe it but kept me engaged throughout with the odd stuff happenin here and there, that ending too. Enjo deserved better man, also that music's godly, really sets the tone for the whole thing.
Oh man, this is the most exciting battle ever. At first I thought that this was the final fight for Araya is the evil master mind and the wicked boss. But its actually Shiki's look alike.
Fr Mikiya is probably my favourite character in KnK. Inspite of being a powerless and normal human, his nature is what influences the ones who have superhuman powers. He also influenced the perspective of Shizune in Future Gospel. Respect + for the dude

Since Araya lived for many years, he could temporarily delay MEODP's effects, allowing him to catch Shiki off guard and knock her out, before dying and transferring his consciousness in another one of his doll bodies. So their first fight was a tie, and it mainly happened because Shiki was unaware that her eyes needs time to kill those with a large lifespan. It's the furthest you could possibly get from a stomp. I know that she is at her strongest with her sword, i'm saying that even without it, she could still kill Araya, so he can't "stomp" her, regardless of her weapon.

Nah OP is talking about Ryougi Shiki (I think). Most members of her family would have two personalities, but Shiki is different in that she actually has three. Well, technically one, the Shiki that’s connected to the Root. This Shiki created the other two Shikis we’re more familiar.
Although the third, most powerful persona existed, it's not her. It's just the usual Shiki with moral boost and sword in hand (she's more capable handling katana than a knife). Araya just confused by how Shiki become significantly more powerful just by holding a katana.
The music and animation in this is just so good. The camera is shaky and moves a lot but the animation is so pristine and clean you catch every movement. A lot of action gets lost in some Animes when the attempt to do this but, you can see every move nearly blow for blow in Kara no Kyoukai. Ufotable really does amazing work.

The true foundation of Ufotable.
The animation and fight scenes were Soo beautifully done by ufotable in The Garden of Sinners!!! I only recently watched these movies in June 2021, and I was blown away by how high-quality and consistently good these movies were especially for 2007!!!
It was on the same level as Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night: [Unlimited Blade Works], very impressed how for how long ufotable had been this good. And the music was Soo beautiful and touching!!! Shiki and Mikiya were so perfect for each other!
That scene with the debris crumbling all over Tomoe's "zombie body" was really sad. It made my heart wrench =(

I love the amount of references they took from this movie to use in FGO. The easisest one to spot is the big thrust at the end being her buster card.
in Kara no kyoukai we see Araya as this creepy, extremelly powerful figure. We truly feel that he is dangerous.

@Tony Mx You can blame that on the poor adaptation of most of the Type Moon anime. By contrast, their novels and visual novels are godly. It's not the series's fault they got piss poor adaptation that don't fully convey the plot.
@Tony Mx For the main Fate series you don't need to read the VNs to understand, but they adapted some aspects poorly which is why people recommend playing the games(they cut out a lot of Shirous monologues, a lot of cut content in Heavens Feel).
In KnK, it's the same in the light novels as it is in the film series. It's purposely confusing to give a bigger payoff once you understand, and on rewatch everything makes way more sense and the experience is way better.

This scene was more epic in the light novel, but still an awesome fight scene in the garden of sinners!
Come on now, explain further.
Probably the fight was longer and the imagery used was stronger than the animation.
I still like this version cuz of the soundtrack though. Personally, if you watch this scene mute(without subs) it becomes a "what the fuck is going on and why the camera going crazy" moment.
The ending was also slightly better in the novel. In the movie they both fall down from the building, while in the novel Araya simply teleports on the garden outside. Thanks to her ability to see in the future, Shiki already knew where he was going to teleport, so she jumps from the 10th floor and reaches Araya the moments he appears, cutting his remaining arm and half of his body. His remaining bounded field and the sacred bones in his arm ironically saved her from the impact of the fall. The movie version is cooler, but the novel makes more sense. I mean why would Araya risk falling from that height? Then he dies standing still like a statue. A fitting end for someone with the origin of stillness.

昔は普通に見てたけど、今見ると本当にufotableのヤバさが良く分かる
No useless monologue that drag the fight, no unnecessary flash back, no long talk between the combatants. Just two characters fight it out. This fight is what I wish more in anime. Monologue and flashbacks are fine on their own right if done correctly but too much can ruin the pace of the fight.

This whole movie was so... Dunno how to describe it but kept me engaged throughout with the odd stuff happenin here and there, that ending too. Enjo deserved better man, also that music's godly, really sets the tone for the whole thing.
Oh man, this is the most exciting battle ever. At first I thought that this was the final fight for Araya is the evil master mind and the wicked boss. But its actually Shiki's look alike.

綺麗な音楽と、映像と、声優さんの素晴らしい演技がお互いを引き立てているアニメ。2008年に作られたものとは思えないほど映像が綺麗。
確か 0:03 ～ 0:32 までが荒耶が「両儀」と呼んだ「式の体の人格」＝『』で、0:33 に壁に叩きつけられて以降「両儀式」に人格が切り替わったはず…。それとも荒耶の腕に殴られた 0:26 までだったっけ…？記憶があやふやだ。
個人的には 1:50 に式がマンションの壁を蹴って、一回転して勢いを付けて荒耶に攻撃するところが好き。美しい。
にしても、この時の式は既に身体中の骨が何本も折れていた（だからふらふらした動きになっている）のに、よく戦えるよ。「刀を持ったら自己暗示で脳の機能を切り替え、肉体を戦闘用に作り替える」なんて設定、ロマンに溢れ過ぎている、反則だ！最高！

This body will die one day, but I was prepared for this happening. It's quite fitting that the price I pay for capturing Ryougi is my death."
Shiki only lost because, as he said, the longer something has lived, the longer it takes for the eyes to kill them.
Since Araya lived for many years, he could temporarily delay MEODP's effects, allowing him to catch Shiki off guard and knock her out, before dying and transferring his consciousness in another one of his doll bodies.
So their first fight was a tie, and it mainly happened because Shiki was unaware that her eyes needs time to kill those with a large lifespan. It's the furthest you could possibly get from a stomp.
I know that she is at her strongest with her sword, i'm saying that even without it, she could still kill Araya, so he can't "stomp" her, regardless of her weapon.
