I have the same kind. Mostly controlled with medication, but it is embarrassing when I have them in public. The video was short and to the point. Well done.
loukatmi, this video is trying to show that not all seizures are the same. Most people think that ALL seizures are tonic clonic (formerly Grand Mal) when the person shakes and goes into convulsions. Here the person is having a complex partial seizure, he appears drunk or stoned, but is really having a seizure where he can walk, but is unaware of where he is. I hope this helps you understand.
Mine are the same as presented but strangely enough never noticed by others around me. I don't remember I had one which is scary. the only I learn I had one is by the muscle soreness and intense sleepiness I get afterward. Thankfully for me mine are controlled by Lamactil. It's a very effective video.
Most people can notice, but my parents, especially my Mum who has been working with epileptics for almost 20 years can't even tell, even when I can't stand up straight and can't talk. Either that or she just doesn't give a shit.
I have the some sort of seizures just to say at high school some of my friends know about it so there are there for me most of the time and I am there for them and we all live life to the fullest
I have similar seizures too...and yes, at school too. You don't have to be young for it to be embarrassing either. Work is the absolute worst place to have them, because your bosses start flipping out and becoming afraid to have you work. Sometimes they force you to go to the hospital, which sucks if you have them everyday, like me..and sometimes multiple times a day. I'm not giving up and going on disability though. No way. I'd rather die. I'm not living off others anymore than I have to.
We need to continue making people aware of these seizures . I have twice been diagnosed with ' non- convulsive status epilelticus .' Many back to back partial seizures ,every week (24 hours ) .They are debilitating.I ask my family to explain the features to people , especially my communication difficulties.Im alway concerned people think im being fude when j cang5 answer simple ?s .I worked as a speech &amguagd therapist so this is v frustrating for me
I usually have a seizure like this and then it sometimes is followed by an atonic seizure, sucks, can't remember anything before it and then after I don't understand anything that's going on for like an hour
I dont like this way of showing a seizure. thease people are acting having a seizure. Hey actors can you tell me on how a Aura feels? No acting or CAD pic.
I have complex partial seizures and I can't tell you what an aura feels like. If I have one I don't remember it. These awareness campaigns are extremely important to inform the public not all seizures are tonic-clonic. Given the age of this it was probably a TV ad. I really wish more people saw it. It is scary to come back to awareness with some one yelling at me for being drunk in public.
