did you know ? you can get free brilliant moves in the opening if you play one of the main line of the london (in the line where you use a deflection tactic with bishop f5 when the queen is on c2) I think I heard brillinat moves are now given depending on your rating so it might only work under mine so I never got this line in rapid (i'm 1700) but I got it in blitz (1500)
2:44 it's not that clear yet. There's Nf3 and after Qxf3+ Kg1 defends the queen, now to win we need to give away our knight with Qe3+ and then keep checking until we reach a position with out Q on e2, their king on g1 and then play Kg3 trapping black king
I was hoping for a knight checkmate and found some in my flawed calculations where I had forgotten that Kg4 is a move, so here they are: Qd4 (here Kg1 Kg3 Kh1 Qxe4 f1=Q Nf4 Qf2+ Kxf2 is an unnecessary but cute stalemate draw) (e3 Qxe3 g1=N+ Kg3 f1=N+ Kf2 Nxe3 Ng3#) g1=N+ Kg3 (Ne2+ Kxf2 Nxd4 Ng3#) f1=Q Qxd4+ (Qf3 Qxf3 Nxf3 Kf2 (here black has to choose between Ng1 and Nh4 and which Finegold joke to make) Ng3#) Nf3 Nf4 Qe1+ Qxe1 Nxe1 Kf2 Nd3+ Nxd3 stalemate, doesn't quite wotk. 3/4 Knight checkmates :)
Ahh yes, a 300 year old game was the first thing that came to my mind too

For those who don’t know
I quickly remembered that position from Kasparov's book :)
To be fair, that Labourdonnais game is a certified chess classic
i just like how the eval is casually like "Easy +30M"
i got a little tripped up by thinking the board was flipped and i was playing for black
But we got it in the end :)
