The keyboard is here the lead singer, Oreo
This is not a band that can be figured out. Search out Tamashii or I Wish.
The girls also have a spin off band called Doll$boxx, try Take My Change

Yes, I (Itai) just found out that it is Oreo singing here and it blew my mind. I did not recognize her at all. Wow...

This is an earlier version of the band, before Angelina (Pink Hair) joined and Hana (Drums) moved to guitar, Oreo (Keys) has longer hair here before she dyed it blonde and they have two performers, Mai and Nene who also play Keys. For a live video with the present line up try "I Wish I" th-cam.com/video/nhFse5ZBlLo/w-d-xo.html

When they started (2009), they had one singer, but she left in 2012 because of health issues, started a new band in 2013 and later passed away in 2015. The drummer (Hana) and keyboard player (Oreo, who is the lead singer here) were the main vocalists, but they added dancers to fill up the space in front of the stage. This is dancer #1 and #3, the second one already left to focus on school (the dancers were all still in school when they recruited them) and Dancer #3 (the one that does keyboard here as well) replaced her, to leave later because of hearing issues.
After the last dancer left (the one that danced alone here) after 5 years (2018) they decided to find a new member as a dancer. It was the pink-haired one from the first video you saw. She was also just 17 when she joined and they didn't plan on her doing vocals, but it morphed into that anyway. Hana (the drummer here) moved to guitar and they added drummer yuri which you haven't seen yet because she was on maternity leave when MindSet was shot.
So as you can see, a lot of moves from this video (2016) until their current lineup, but the base musicians stayed the same. They changed outfits and hair and some moved instruments though. The musicians are all 34 - 36 (at this moment, not during this video during this video they are probably in their late 20's/early 30's with the exception of the dancers). Their new drummer is 28 and the pink haired singer is 21.
Also, they consider themselves an entertainment group, not necessarily a music band (even though they are all fantastic musicians). You never know what you are going to get as far as music style goes. Their earlier stuff is a bit more on the J-pop end, but it always has interesting musiciansship mixed in.

Thanks for the information, Maarten. Sad to hear one of the band passed away and another left due to health reasons. Never a good thing, especially when such talent is involved. And yes, it seems this is "the band that can't sit still", both in their onstage energy and in line-up changes, as well as changes to their looks. It always feels to me like the "spin" in the band name might refer to a washing machine, as they blend so much into what they do. Kind of throw it together and let it spin. Somehow, due to all this amazing musical talent and off the charts energy, they make it work. So far, we love it! More to come. Stay tuned!

The name actually comes from the gachapon machines they have in Japan (sometimes written as Gashapon). Those are capsule machines where you put in money, turn a knob and you will get a random capsule out of it with all kinds of things in there. But you got the gist already, you never know what you are going to get in those machines either.

Thought you guys would have fun with this one
There have been a few personnel changes between this video and MindSet:
    1. The two dancers, one of who took part in the keyboard duel, had both left by the end of 2018
    2. Angelina 1/3rd, the pink haired singer from MindSet, joined early 2019
    3. Itai's crush, Hana, moved to guitar+vocals in early 2019 as well and new drummer Yuri came in. You didn't see Yuri in the MindSet video because she was out on maternity leave for that album, and the music videos from it

Great review. To be honest it is hard to define exactly what genre of music Gacharic Spin is since they are willing to put a variety of genres into their song writing blender and somehow they can make it work. Well, obviously it works since they are all virtuoso musicians who take their music abilities seriously yet they don't take themselves seriously and are willing to try any antics to engage the audience. There is a newer version of this song where pink-haired Angie puts on Tomo-zo's guitar and it looks like she is "playing" a ripping solo but half way through you see Tomo-zo's head peak out from behind Angie and you realize Tomo-zo is playing the solo blind.

Ha, glad you guys enjoyed this ride. This comment is a very long dump! TMI, but hopefully someone will learn something…
So this video is from approx 6years ago. The core 4 musicians are “always” the same, tho blue haired Hana has moved from drums to guitar, officially in 2019 (but with exceptions like Mindset because of new drummer Yuri’s maternity leave). Also in 2019, pink haired Angie started. Koga (founder in summer 2009 at age 22, em-cee) on bass, Hana (drums first, tho it’s like her 5th signed band, had danced, sung ska, played bass for baby metal’s drummer, & been guitarist/singer w male band too; recruited first by Koga melo-dramatically saying she’d quit the biz if she couldn’t have her high school buddy/bandmate back), TomoZo (“replacement” guitar, joined at ~21st bday after 5years pro, but really only about 4months after the project started), and Oreo-Reona (keyboards, support personnel, eased into band after original frontwoman was out, basically joined winter 2012, had been in previous band w TomoZo).
Birth years: 1986 (Hana, Oreo, Koga), 1988 (TomoZo). So, in this vid, their ages, roughly: 31,31,31,29,19,19? Something like that. Basing that on winter 2017 (was performance fall 2016? Or spring 2017? Not sure.), when pinkhaired/mindset Angie was only 15. Of course the two girls in this video were only 4 years older, in fact dancer Mai joined at 15 in winter 2013. Angie didn’t join until her 17th birthday (dec 2018). The fact that GS trolls high school talent shows? Well, they themselves went to performing arts high school, and have said explicitly in interviews (2015ish) that they run on “17year olds’ power”.
Vocals: before Oreo, there was front woman Armmy(sic), who played keys on rare occasion, but had energy like David Lee Roth at a rave. When she was out (winter 2012), Oreo came in. They spent a year testing front women, but ultimately decided that Hana & Oreo could split it. To this day, Hana still sings the most, and now Angie is passing Oreo for next most. Besides just experimenting with singers, the results of 2012 were astounding (a whole other essay, seriously this list were the popular things, but there’s like a dozen others), including Doll$Boxx (see below), a zombie movie (somebody PLEASE caption this movie!) th-cam.com/video/GZa1dBW5s8k/w-d-xo.html , European tour, and choosing to add “performers” to what became a full entertainment package with standup comedy, characters, costumes, choreography, even slapstick bits (10foot rubber bands to the face, smacking each other with shoes, games/feats built into a song, the song winner portrays a 5 minute foot race complete with breaking the winner’s/finishing-line tape), which led to hiring energetic teens.
Lyrical style: the songs are musically impossible to describe, you’re starting to get that. The name itself is unknown and difficult to spell/pronouce in either language, but basically GachaGacha (gotcha, got ya, tho sometimes heard as Gakarik ?) was originally an onomatopoeia for “clattering”, think dishes falling in the sink. (so much for being an electronic “pop” band; how popular if you name yourself “our take on noisy”?!) But GachaGacha is also used to describe pachinko, or pinball, or those capsule prizes coming out of a gumball machine. That later led to 2016 red album Kakuhen which is basically gambling themed…. Original singer/lyricist/coverArtPainter Armmy went around saying “Sexy” (in English) all the time, and it reflected strongly in her work. Hunting summer is one of hers, basically about picking up beach boys in heels, bikini, hat, sunglasses & drink in hand (based on cover art, beach themed videos & stage toys, & the poor English translations… lyricstranslate.com/en/%E3%83%8F%E3%83%B3%E3%83%86%E3%82%A3%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0%E3%82%B5%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC-hunting-summer-%E3%83%8F%E3%83%B3%E3%83%86%E3%82%A3%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0%E3%82%B5%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC-hunting-summer.html ) By contrast, 3/4 of Hana’s lyrics, the bulk of their work, follows a never-give-up theme, albeit with some awesome sarcastic bits [I love 2015’s Music Battler album, with songtitles like Dream Eating Shark, Dream Execution, Common Sense Destroyer, Sekira Liar (red/bold faced bare-naked Liar like a Lion, she’s ashamed to be one too)].
By the way, Oreo had a hard time following Armmy; this vid was 4 years later, and she still ended this video with “Thank you Sexy!”, and she started as co-lead singer, and still sings on basically every track, but in fact rarely sings lead anymore. Also, I’m torn on this video, wonder if anyone else knows better; but in 2017 I think? It was revealed that Oreo’s hair, which in 2015 definitely was naturally long (as *appears here), it might be a wig by this point?!, covering the haircut she has publicly had ever since (short short.) 2018 was weird too, forget her hair, she spent the entire year wearing … a cheeseburger costume. A large one. Photo ops of her eating cheeseburgers, that was a thing… so her hair was never seen, only the ketchup/mustard obviously-wig.
And I mentioned GS’s 2012 earlier, that essay may eventually come, but there’s also “Metallic Spin” band, the core 4 plus guest singers (especially guy from Sabre Tiger) who play European arrogant (Yngvie-like) characters who invade Japan playing classic metal covers (think Battery by Metallica, here’s a Rainbow cover, Spotlight Kid, one of the only known videos) th-cam.com/video/iBWkWeknJco/w-d-xo.html . Then there’s this: they are perennially the host band for BabyMetal guitarist Takayoshi Ohmura’s annual birthday concert. Here they are, BabyMetal’s Kami band and Gacharic Spin onstage all at once, doing Judas Priest’s Electric Eye. Happens to be Mikio Fujioka’s last stage appearance (other babymetal guitarist, who’s Ohmura’s instructor in fact.). Love that he looks cross stage at TomoZo like a peer, and gives her the “Fox sign” (babymetal’s version of shadowplay fox, I love you, and Dio’s horns, all in one). th-cam.com/video/wgTh6wZjtGE/w-d-xo.html Unfortunately, the recording quality is low on both of these…
So, tldr: I recommend you try their side project Doll$Boxx, which is core 4 musicians plus singer Fuki (now Unlucky Morpheus) who was among those who helped out in 2012, and instead of guesting on a single, they just created another signed band, because why not. Too much talent & diversity. Fuki has put out a product with her singing on it every six weeks continuously since 2008. Only 14 DB originals total, but a video for each one, 9 from 2012’s Doll’s Apartment, packaged as a youtube playlist w vids that all say “to be continued”. It’s basically a concept album against abuse of women in (music?all?) industry, but you can kind of only tell from either lyrics, or the two obvious videos Take My Chance (portrays idols giving a basement concert, great to react to the official skit video) and Karakuri Town (town of wind-up dolls; great to see 2016 Fuki Commune live band of ringers (incl babymetal, and lovebites & fuki collaborator keyboardist Mao) cover this too). 5 more songs & vids from 2017 EP, one vid includes guest spot from GS dancer Mai (by then ~ age 20), and the 2018 live dvd has it all, plus a cover or 2…
So basically, for reactions, you should go with whatever is most recommended, or whatever pays for coffee ;) , but I will end with this. My favorite repeat listen is the last DB track. Fuki is a power metal girl after all, and besides running marathons and sewing her own clothes, she’s a literature nerd. (As Ningen Isu, she writes using old-japanese language, like, it’s hard even for the band to know what she means). Hana says in English “He dominated the ancient world’s wars. His name is Dragonet.” Oreo’s opening wail is haunting, TomoZo’s solo is tasty & soulful. It’s the best song I know about the last dragon being banished to cry blood from the stars forever, an electronic/emo/fantasy/numetal masterpiece. Or a loud annoying pop rock song, depends which friends you ask, whatever…
Dragonet by Doll$Boxx, original vid: th-cam.com/video/nH4TEyJwpm4/w-d-xo.html

I am glad y'all returned to Gacharic Spin (much appreciation R-Tunes). As others have said, this video was before Angie and Yuri were added to the band and when they had dancers. The core four of Hana (drums/guitar), "F Chopper" Koga (bass), Tomo-zo (guitar) and "Oreo" Reona (keyboards) were still trying to find their identity as a band, thus their lengthy, but temporary, experiment with dancers. In early 2019, the band found their identity by adding Yuri on drums, bringing Hana up front on guitar and, most importantly, adding force of nature Angie as a vocalist. Angie provides more excitement on stage than a whole squad of dancers, and much less crowded. I strongly suggest y'all watch the new lineup performing Hunting Summer, not necessarily for a reaction although it would be interesting hearing y'all discuss how they compare - th-cam.com/video/bUO33-W04uk/w-d-xo.html
BTW, Oreo Reona is frequently changing her look so it is understandable that she was hard to recognize in this video. Hopefully, y'all will eventually get to a video where she plays the keyboard dressed as a hamburger (the crazy in a band of crazies).

Yes, we've been directed to this video and checked it out. It is a lot of fun and I (Itai) prefer it to the one we did do in some way, but not necessarily in others. Overall, I'll give this one you included here the slight edge because of the improved sound quality, the current line-up being present and the blind guitar solo by Tomo-Zo, playing from behind Angie's back (I hope I got that right). Realising the Oreo Reona, whom we saw in Mindset, is the same person singing on the Hunting Summer video we reacted to blew my mind. I would not have recognized her in a million years.

@@myindieprodentertainment Itai, yes you have it right that Tomo-zo was playing guitar behind Angie's back. Of all the all female Japanese bands that I follow, they are easily the most energetic. I really can't think of a more energetic band, male or female, that I have seen anywhere. They have to be exhausted after a show. Their label is Victor Entertainment, the same label as Lovebites. Someone at Victor needs to send Lovebites and Gacharic Spin on a worldwide tour together. Contrasting music and stage presence but with the same immense musical talent.
The core four of Gacharic Spin (Koga, Hana and Tomo-zo since the founding year 2009 and Reona since 2012) have done a couple of side projects. The one singing with the keyboard is the keyboard player you were looking for - Orea. Pre Angie the pink haired vocalist

Yes, we know that... now... Lol. We got a few comments on that. Otherwise, we would not have recognised here in a million years! We hear she goes through lots of changes in her time with the band so far, so we look forward to seeing if we'd recognise her in other looks, especially one involving a cheeseburger costume...

@@myindieprodentertainment She is a bit cookie (well the whole band is - organized chaos) but I love it. So much fun but all of them are very accomplished and serious musicians. Great reaction asn glad you like them so much.

They call themselves an entertainment band so that level of energy is not an accident, it's deliberate and also it implies that they're not attached to any specific genre per se. But if you're looking forward to more songs like Mindset you might be a little disappointed. That funk sound is not something that they used too often. Big part of they're discography consists of rock, electronic and pop music fusion, but they dabble in other genres as well.

That makes a lot of sense and is consistent with what we've heard about them so far. We definitely like what we heard so far, so we are looking forward to diving deeper into their work, regardless of genre. If it's good music, it's good music 🙂 Stay tuned!
Thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated! 🙏

And next you should listen to I with I if you haven't done it. Totally different from this and even Mindset. A really great song.
