How this $20K Piranha Ironworker paid for itself in one year?

  • Ron demonstrates how his piranha ironworker says both time and money in his shop. This machine sheers channels, angles, flat bar, copes and punches holes. It has been the best ironworker that Ive owned.

    If one machine can stop your shop you need a second. People can use both at the same time but, more importantly if one goes down you have a spare.

    • @JesseKlaus
      @JesseKlaus ปีที่แล้ว

      At $2Xk it's not the cheapest spare.. but you're not wrong.

      He said he could do it on the saw, it just takes more time. So not necessarily shut down but slowed down.

    I usually work 10hrs a day but I had to stand at the piranha all day and clip atleast 1000caps for tube 5 to 6 hrs in my left foot wasn't feeling to good from leaning on it and using my right foot to operate it but I got all of it done In 2 days but we have a saw in the shop that you just roll the metal in and measure it lock the vise and turn it on push the two green buttons at the same time and it just cuts by it's self and It comes back up when it's done take the metal off stack it on a pallet pull another metal piece though and repeat very simple once you get used to it took me 1 time and I remembered how to use it ever since

    Ron- just get a laser. You make the same product over and over. You have to pay separate for the operating system. Get the programs made up for each part.
    I agree with the guy who says your staff need safety glasses. Steel under pressure can explode in unexpected ways.

      Fixate on the task and a salesman shall whisper into your ear. We paid for our laser in about six months. And ran the bag off it for a decade.
      Trained monkey stuff. I ran the trump7000 for six months before I found that there is such a thing as executive mode. The machine kept running on Unix while I frantically rebooted DOS.(did it with 2 minutes to spare)

    You should buy 2 of those machines, Ron if it is THAT important to you, as well...as it would increase production time having 2 going : ) If you REALLY want to kick ass, you may consider getting robotic assisted welders....you could mass-produce larger / or modular items more efficiently and quickly. I have been watching all of your vids and the number 1 issue you talk about is you are soooo busy. Humans are terrific and needed but if you get into a pinch and cannot produce to meet the demands, having robots around might be just what you need....IN ADDITION to having human workmanship, got to have both. I am not saying replace people, but humans need rest, time off, and simply downtime. You could have the machines build all the major components while people are at home. : ) Just like an assembly plant : )
