Today I'm making a patchwork skirt inspired by the Hobbits of middle earth and lord of the rings and quilting! This is a steep learning curve and I hate math so wish me luck!

"I didn't prewash these...because I'm lazy and I didn't want to" is SUCH a big mood
I was going to come up with a reasonable excuse but then decided I didn’t care 😋
I want to make some whimsy-goth skirts for myself, can’t wait to try this!
Lovely
This is so helpful! I've been searching everywhere for a tutorial to make a skirt like this. Thank you for the video 😁
THIS CAME OUT SOOOOOOOOOO ADORABLE!!!! i love the colors so much what a fun idea :)
THANK YOUUUU I really like it!!
This appeals to my boho soul
Toooo cute. Cant wait to make one. I have lotsa granddaughters and friends with daughter's. That will be fun❤
❤❤❤❤
Love this idea so much!! 💕💕💕Have you thought about trying to do pleats on this skirt? I wonder how would that turn out 🤔
Ooooooo I bet it would look super cute pleated! But the thing is….pleating involves more math and I was at capacity for math this project lol
So fun! I love your colors! I just finished my first patchwork skirt this week and it was so fun. I am not an exact person either tho and new to sewing so it turned out messy but I loved it! I'm going to do a purple one next I think. :)
wow, i love the little different shapes and color stitches you did on it. so cute. i hope youre well :)
Thanks so much! :) you as well!!
love it! i was just thinking about making a patchwork apron for my larp outfit. perfect timing for inspiration!
cute! thank you
For further inspiration, check out Heidi's skirts at Rain Country.
I like the colors of this skirt and the little accent stitching you did.
No need to pull the fabric when sewing, just guide the fabric. The feed dogs will do all the work for you.
I've made my own skirt, using fat squares, using Heidi's technique. I prefer to use a drawstring instead of elastic. Elastic deteriorates over time. The drawstring is very forgiving for weight fluctuations.
I'm glad to see a young person making their own clothes. That's a great skill to nurture.
Happy sewing!
