Due to Sonam Wangchuck efforts, the education system in LADAKH is totally changed. ..earlier in Ladakh, the main reasons for the failure of students is it is compulsory of URDU in systems and Ladakh can't no any Urdu except the district -Kargil region, so all most all people's and students know BODHI(Tibetans ) scripture... So due to Sonam Wangchuck and people's support, All education systems is totally changed..we all are thanks Kaga Sonam Wangchuck...the real leadership qualities

Not just corruption and commercialisation. The system itself. Our current education system was designed by the British to cultivate skilled but unquestioning, unthinking mindless slaves, and it has not yet changed. This talk shows that when we change those goals of education, we can get real mega-scale changes for even hard problems like environment change. Just the right goals in designing and executing an education system could solve the biggest real life problems of entire societies and regions. For example, siphoning, if done on a big enough scale could prevent the annual floods in UP, Bihar and Bengal that kill 1000s of villagers and wash away 100s of villages. In my opinion this talk is as good as Sir Ken Robinson's TED talk on schools killing creativity. See that talk to understand the problem. This talk provides a viable alternative solution. What is interesting is that you can still keep commercialisation and corruption rampant and untouched, while completely changing the goals and structure of the education system. This is even being done to a limited extent in those special private schools for the upper class. So it could be realistically implemented. But to do so for the masses you need old stupid politicians to accept change keeping aside fears of their backchannel profits and you need teachers who think and experiment and are not afraid of questions.
