Excellent video, thank you for letting us know about this game. I am trying to get back in to solo RPGs as oppose to playing so many video games. I find playing PNP RPGs solo to be more mentally stimulating then computer games.
Olschoolgamer Yes it is a more engaging experience mentally for sure. I have played my fair share of video games in life and love them for what they are but mentally engaging they aren’t. Even a game with as simple rules as this is more cognitively stimulating I’d say than any video game.
@@williambertram7372 I haven't played Gloomhaven though from what I know it is entirely different, as it's a board game, and a massive one at that. Also as I understand it, it must be campaign based, whereas 4AD and d100 don't need to be. I have done a vid on 4AD... I enjoy certain aspects of it and overall it is a lighter game because it is less detailed. Sometimes that's just what I want. It can be (and has been) ported into other systems. (I've also done a vid on 4 Against Mars, which I enjoyed). To get the most out of 4AD you need to keep buying the new scenario books--it's that sort of directed roll and write. You also (obviously!) need to manage 4 characters. Sometimes that's too much. But the combat in d100 can be boring and some of the leveling up details feel repetitive after a while. Yet the system is more freeflowing and "hackable." And I identify more with 1 character than 4... The perfect marriage for me would be a lot of the rules of 4AD but the freedom of d100. In the end, if I had to reach for one of them, it would be d100 because I prefer to play 1 character over 4. If 4AD could be played with just 1 character, I'd likely choose that.
@@GeekGamers01 I enjoyed 4AD well enough, but there were some events I didn't care for like the Invisible Goblins. Of course, it's easy enough to just leave that out or house rule it once you know about it, but I hit it on the first game, and as written it felt lazy and unbalanced. This time around, I decided to quench my solo dungeon crawl thirst with the video game Tales of Maj'Eyal, which I found far more enjoyable as an experience than 4AD. I'm personally OK with lumping solo board games, single-player video games, and solo RPGs into one category since they all amount to scratching the same itch.
Thank you Gonna order it Friday! I play Four Against the Darkness primarily I have 25 books into as we speak. I create a lot of my own gaming materials for 4AD as well but always looking for more solo RPGs to play. and D100 Dungeon looks like a good one.

Hi, GG! Thanks, now you must show us more of your gameplay of this game! At least an update of each quest that you perform pretty please? You could make it episodic series of videos. Seriously though I'm going to go ahead and print it out and see what I think. Looks fun!
usapatriot4163 Ah Glad you enjoyed. I thought of it but there are some gameplay vids up already and it isn’t so interesting watching for this one IMO. Love the game tho. You probably will too!
Still thinking about your comment and now leaning toward filming the beginning of my next quest--enough at least to show a game turn and discuss a few aspects of the game I didn't mention in this video since I was committed to keeping it 10 min.
You might look at the d100 game page on board game geek under "files" to see if there are printable pdf's: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/237031/d100-dungeon/files
I have a question . Let’s say I pick up a Legendary Necklace that gives “+5 to STR”... Does that additional STR disappear if I lose, sell or un-equip the necklace? Or is that permanent?
I was thinking about buying this game. I had read that you pick a race and class at the beginning, but I'm not confident in the source. There doesn't seem to be much online information about this game, and I can't hear the videos well because my speakers aren't working properly.
I've done quite a few vids on it including character creation but if your speakers aren't working, not sure why you'd be looking at vids. Go to the game page on BGG for all the info you could want about this great pen and paper dungeon crawl: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/237031/d100-dungeon
I’m not sure what file you have but the first time I played this game it was just by printing a pnp file and that file, at least, was sufficient to play. It had all the rules and table of the base game.
One deck dungeon is so good, but i sturgle understanding how to obtain new spells, so i can upgrade them via Bonus rating points .... Can you help me with that?
@@GeekGamers01 Pocket dungeon (dungeon in my pocket) I found out that you obtain new spells very seldom - you need to roll for a spell scroll, which is too hard ... So I will stay a weak wizard 😀 Btw have you played Scarlet heroes or Ironsworn?

Geek Gamers I am about to start playing a play through. Are there any weapons, armor or spells that are especially good for a basic lvl 1 character. Thanks, love your channel.
Goalie Games Great question but I’m not sure there is a great answer. If you play the training quests you will be picking things up along the way. You will also be rolling randomly for your equipment and part of the game is dealing with what you’ve gotten.
Yea I wasn't thinking right that day that I typed that comment. What I meant was what skills do you recommend for a mage type lvl 1 character. Sorry about that😕😕
Great video, thanks. Do the dungeons feel different depending on the quest? I've struggled to find a solo RPG that satisfies me, because most feel too random and every quest feels similar. Perhaps the campaigns available for d100 dungeon solve that problem. Have you played any of those?
