Thanks so much for the honest reviews. My daughter has never done Gather Round or Campfire Curriculum, but the Vikings unit and the Thanksgiving and Christmas units look really good.

I’m very grateful for your video! Thank you so much for sharing all the curriculum options. Especially I like Add the wonder! 🙏😱

You are so welcome! Add the Wonder was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed the simple lessons; it gave us the opportunity to dive deeper in the subjects she was most interested in. Thanks for watching! 😊

My son started the year with DIVE Biology too... he made it 8 weeks, but he was miserable. We had the same experience. I switched him to Friendly Biology, and that was a much better fit. HAHA - funny we did the same thing!

I think even the timing of the switch was pretty much the same 😆. I'm glad you found something that worked for him!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It sounds like you had a great school year. Happy for you and your girls! I was waiting for your review of your 9th grader’s science and geography. I bought Friendly Biology already based off of your flip through, so I hope it will be a good fit for next year. I was planning on spacing out the Memoria Press Geography to 2 years, and now hearing what you have to say, it might be the best way to go. My guys aren’t huge readers, so it might be worth it to space it out. In your opinion, do you think that it could work spaced out like that with other resource books along the way?

Yes, I think Memoria Press Geography would work much better over a year. If you really want to dive deep and take each unit slowly, two years could work. It's not necessarily a "fun" curriculum, but my 9th grader is fine with just reading the text and doing the workbook. Memoria Press didn't have a ton of reading (compared to other programs) it was a lot of memorization, like capitals and map work. If I spaced it out more, I would have added readers to go with each unit and even some documentaries. We are currently looking at Guest Hollow as an option for my 6th grader next year... it seems like a better fit for her. It looks like they cover more when it comes to cultures, which is what Lydia enjoys. They have a list of readers and video links included. (so less work for me...lol) Thanks for stopping by 🙂.

@@homewithsarahjane I thought about Guest Hollow, as well, but I think I would enjoy it more than my boys. Haha! It has so many great reviews from other parents. You should check out My Practically Imperfect Life and Homeschooling Through High School, if you haven’t done so already. They go into detail about how they tweaked the program to fit their family.

@yolanda080 That's how I felt about Guest Hollow for Geography for Bella. I think I would have enjoyed it more. I feel like if it was world history, she would have liked Guest Hollow. She wanted something short and to the point for Geography. Now Lydia, she likes ALL the bells and whistles when it comes to curriculum 😆.
