Dude, thank u so much for posting this 4 part delight! I've been wanting this for years and thought i was going to have to go through the Big East office to get it. You have to admit, probably the most impressive first decade of any of the power conferences! Not even close! Its like billy packer said in part 1 these schools were already regional legions with the occasional national success forever now and then. The big east however, in the first ten years brought home 2 national titles, 8 final 4 berths from 6 different school. Blockbuster recruiting hauls such as 1981 ( Ewing, Mullin, Pinckney class), and 1988 ( Mourning, Owens, Sealy) just to name 2. And the biggest attraction of all, the coaching legends and their rivalries: Big John, Looie, Jimmy B, Jim Calhoun...I could literally keep goin on a nd apparently I'm right because a whole 30 for 30 was dedicated to this 80s phenomenon ( Requiem for the Big East)
Do you have more game footage or big east programming you can post or recreate for purchase?? Specifically from the 1988-89( mourning freshman/ mutombo sophomore) season or 1989-90?? If you did that would be terrific!!
Back in the day having the intense at the big East basketball tournament at Madison Square Garden happened every year in 1985 final four switch the semi finals games to georgetown vs Memphis in the first the second have st John's battle Villanova Having Georgetown St John's meeting for the national championship
This is awesome. Do you by chance have any Providence games from the 1985-86 season (Rick Pitino's first season)? Been trying to find some for close to 30 years now!
"Leo your boy was able to make it to 6 Overtimes! You were only able to make it to Three!"😂 Good one Bill!!!!👍
