Greetings from the Netherlands. Yes, Max is indeed renting the place where he lives. Why? Because renting is normal for a Dutchman, even a bleeping rich Dutchman.
Although Jos has been instrumental in shaping Max's skills on track, as a person Max takes more from his mother. I really have to disagree that Jos is among the rudest people on the paddock. I have met him several times and in normal conversation it is a pleasant and friendly individual. But yeah, he is very protective of Max and Max his interests
Mexico: First penalty was rubbish, and I am not the only one saying so, even the pundits on chanels like Viaplay and Sky agree. Second incident very much deserved a penalty though. As a Verstappen fan and Dutchman I am ashamed he went there. It actually made me a bit angry, he is better than that.
What does the lady mean.. "finally after three years"? Is she suggesting Max doesn't get punished? I don't get what she means there.
Liam: The man understands that he is fighting with 2 people for that seat, maybe even 3. Max is not one of those 2 or 3, he needs to keep Max as friend. If that means opening a door he will open that door. The RB drivers have been more aid to Max this year than his team mate.
16:50 LMAO... I don't agree with DanyRic being a bleephole but that made me physically lol (did you know that lol as a word is used in Dutch and stands for "fun"? Having fun = lol hebben)
Stroll warm up lap... brake issues were perhaps why he went off in the first place but just driving in that graveltrap.... that was a failed 180 and all on Lance. I have NO idea why he is still in F1, even a father should have their limits right?
Lando: Let's talk about rude....... Disrespecting a 7 time WDC, a 4 time WDC, a 3 time (probably soon 4 time) WDC and a 2 time WDC..... I am so done with that kid. And that has nothing to do with him taking the fight to Max (and failing at it) but all with his behavior outside the car. I don't mind hard fighting and even some slight disrespect on the track but outside the track you show respect for your competitors.
23:29 Leclerc went in, then there was a VSC which ended when Lando and George came in for new tyres. THEN there was the safety car which was followed by the Red Flag when Colapinto decided not wanting to play anymore. The only "luck" was the timing of the Red Flag but both Alpines and Max very much had their strategy set to "red flag situation imminent". So no... it is not luck. Another reason why it was not luck was the fact that Max AND Gasly had brought themselves in the position to be able to profit from a Red Flag. Pierre from place 15, Max from 17.... no luck involved, very much talent, from all 3 podium sitters. and yes, you can say it was actually 15th instead of 17th.
Kimi Raikkonen in 2005 was the last person to go from 17 to win (Japanese GP at Suzuka)
subbed and liked because why the heck not. :)

Hello, lovely to hear from you, and we really appreciate the sub, and the like and the comment. Thank you for your support.
The lady here (Mansi), I want to preface this by clarifying that this episode is mostly us being goofy. When we seriously talk about F1, it is better.😅
Renting is good, I am pro-renting, that conversation just took a wild turn.
Jos might be a good father and ofcourse he's protective of his son, but mostly his interference seems like a father who's vicariously living through his son. I hope I am wrong in that assumption.
Mexico penalties were a bit wild, but Max divebombs are kind of famous, he's very either you yield or we crash kind of driver especially when he is under pressure (like until Mexico). Not that I ever thought Lando was ever winning, and after Brazil it is even more out of the question for him. Like I said, just waiting for when Lando mathematically is out of the championship.
Yes, some of Max's similar moves have gone unpunished, off the top of my head it was Mick in the Haas at Silverstone for P7 in 2022/2023? The problem is the inconsistency in FIA decision making.
Liam needs to do his talking on the track, but not in the way he's doing. I think he did better last year because there were no talks about him getting an F1 seat, but being so rude and disrespectful to other drivers, particularly Perez does not help.
Danny Ric comment was bonkers, I don't know why my co-host said that.
Eagerly waiting for Lawrence Stroll's limits to be reached. They might not exist based on what we have seen so far.
Conspiracy theorists and Red Bull/Max fans have said that the timing was suspect for the red flag in qualifying (Q2) and VSC in sprint, I personally think that again just that entire decision making process can be improved a bit.
I agree Max and Gasly ending up where they did was not luck at all, just control and reading the situation and reacting to what was happening. What was a good show of just how good they were (especially Max, Gasly and Ocon) is how they were able to keep the car on track on such old inters.
Hope to see you again here, and I hope you enjoyed the episode. We'll try and do a little better next time, but mostly we just goof around and talk about this amazing sport that we love😊

@@kicksandkerbspodcast Nice to meet you Mansi, you were so gracious in introducing your co hosts but I don't think you said your own name (or I simply missed it)
As someone that follows the sport since the early 70's and the Verstappens since Jos drove in Formula Ford and Formula Lotus in the Netherlands so I can get a bit .... enthousiastic when replying. Especially when it is about Dutch drivers. Yes I enjoyed the episode and if TH-cam does what it should do I should get notified for the next ones :)

Totally understandable. As a Lewis fan, my bias also shows when it comes to Max. But Max the person has grown on me so much, he is witty, curious and very intelligent. And like you, when he sometimes does these things, it seems like he's gone back to the old days of racing. However, one thing I cannot deny is Max is one of the greats of the sport and I am very lucky to see this all live. I started watching F1 in 2020 so I have missed a very big chunk of F1 history.
Also I have a soft spot for the Netherlands, they are my joint second team in all International football tournaments. As a Liverpool fan, you might be able to understand my love for them. And I did miss mentioning my name :)
