    My wife has had a Purwick system for almost 3 years. We are on her third factory new system. Out of the box it is pretty quiet. After a couple weeks it gets noisier and louder becoming more irritating as it is used more. This example video is obviously a brand new out of the box unit. Would love to see a "sound" video of a unit with a years constant usage.

    The simulation demo given by Dr. Lin was good on the video in that setting. I could not detect the humming sound as much as I do in a home bedroom atmosphere where it is a little more quiet. The humming noise is definitely noticeable in a quiet bedroom environment where there is not a lot room activity. In a Hospital environment you do not notice it as much when I was there in the ER room several months ago. The noise level activity in a Hospital is constant, therefore, you do not hear as much with all the machinery in place. I wish there was a muffler that could be used to tamp down the noise for Home use similar to a Car exhaust system in a Car. Oh well, I am just thinking out loud (smile).

    Thank you. This helped me a lot in my decision to try one for a family member.

    I want to get one today. I just can't find one in my town. We used one on my mother in the ER. Wonderful for use.

    Sound is accurate with phone volume up. Was expecting silence given the price.

      Put her on a disposible chux for bedtime,,,whipe the mess down and dispose of the wic and chux . Clean her up and put her on a new wic and disposable chux. Make sure you have the purwick positioned properly and your good to go.
      You can place towels under her during the cleanup to prevent soiling the
      bedding...when done wash the towels.

    My expert handyman husband dis covered that our purewick machine had a broken part, and urine seemed to be filling the motor area inappropriately. While he successfully replaced the broken piece, he wants to be sure that liquids will NOT be going where they don't belong. Is there anyone he can speak with?

    Hello, am I able to use this on a continuous basis. Like 8 hours straight, 10 etc or am I only able to use it a few times a day? my husband is nonverbal and id like something that runs all day. thank you..

    • @JCLinMD
      @JCLinMD  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can run it all day. It's just the motor may burn out faster. You also will need to drain the tank once in a while.

    Just used it for the first night and my mom complained at the sound. It’s the sucking sound of the urine. Also the dripping of the urine into the container that’s the problem.

      Would a blanket around the canister to dampen the sound be helpful?

    • @Penroof34
      @Penroof34 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm going to try that. The canister was right under my mothers bed so I'm going to sit that 6 feet away. She currently has four or five blankets on her and I find it a little hard to believe that it could be that loud, as far as hearing the suction. I also will have a sound machine in the background to see if that helps. This is a fabulous unit. Just need to find how will work for my mother.@@JCLinMD

      I have also found after 4weeks that this unit is definitely too loud for the Bedroom. I had to turn the unit off on several occasions just to get to sleep. I was wondering what affect this noise will have on my hearing if I continue to try to use it. After three hours last night I could not handle the sound anymore ,so I pulled the plug.
