been listening to this live version for a few years now, I like coming back to it 3 or 4 times a year. Stunning.
This is the first time that I have discovered this group. Along with Final Girl, this is beautiful.

Actually, this is a Synthpop duo.
The 1980's have influenced most pop music that has come after that decade. 80's musical styles are still with us in much if not most of contemporary pop/rock music.

@@Acidwriter I would agree that "unique" might be a bit too strong of a word to describe this, but it is a solid synth/dream-pop track, and if the rest of their material is as good, then all the better.
I swear they deserve more recognition. I love electric youth because it brings back that amazing sound of the 80s synthpop movement

compared to a lot of bands they have quite a lot of recognition
Debbie Gibson really would be nice to see back in this group...
Have you heard of Tommy Sun - Don't Break my Heart OR Robert Parker - '85 again.. those are classics but if you want synthpop coming back then check out a group called "The Midnight".. You will certainly like a bunch of their songs..

Whoever did the sound mixing was not paid enough. Both the sound engineer and the L1 did a great job.

Wish I could be there when this was played live. Something with this music that bring my mind back to my childhood in the early 80s. Amazing that 2 young souls find each other and stay tougher. Very rare and priceless
I've been following the multitude of bands part of the "Synthwave", or the "Retrowave", wondering which one was going to cross over. I think Electric Youth have some of what it takes.

look at my rant above - only a few are good, most are shit and wil fade away with only yotube to remember them. It's because theya re not real musicians in a band with creative inputs from the memgbers actually living life like in the 80s - the drugs, the cars, the hustling, the flyers, the bars, bands, hairspray, getting your dick sucked by a girl journalist, having to find the right look and amp up your sex appeal with hair spray, mouse, gel, blazers, guido shoes, guicci jeans, loud shirts, etc etc.
all we ahve in synthwave are a few real artists, the rest are hacks who never leave the house and go it alone, with only a few repetive weak tunes which wouldn't be selected to be the background music of a Sega game let alone get a crowd moving.

I've been a fan of this band since the beginning.
I grew up in the 80's and had to go searching for "Why don't I remember this band?" after watching Final Girl a dozen time this week. The sound it SPOT ON.
