Tanner and Carly are the reason I got back into watching Sprint cars started watching Tanner run the go-kart/minisprints. When he started his TH-cam channel. Great family. Mother and father have done great with these kids and taught them a good bit about racing and a huge amount about life. Always going to be a homes family supporter
I remember seeing Carly flip into the trees over the fence in her sprint car going for a WIN! So glad to see that she is doing fine after all that recovery.
@@HistoryMysteryMan look up the wreck of Carly's on Tanner's channel I also think it's great to see her respected for her work in the pits I remember Logan from skark racing menchen her in victory lane last year when Tanner was in the 1t with the outlaws
I enjoyed your conversations with the Holmes "kids." I've noticed that you typically include shots of the panels on the race cars showing the sponsors of the team. I'm sure the drivers, crews and team owners appreciate you doing that. It's not possible to read the sponsor information when they are out on the track.
Thanks for recognizing that. I do my best to help all facets of the industry, while trying to tell stories. What boggles my mind though is that most of the racers and tracks that I highlight do not share my videos. I don't know what that means; possibly they feel they're not good enough, quality-wise, to share; I just don't know. Thanks again...HMM
Excellent Family. Committed Racers, all love it and it shows. Carly is being too modest, she is the Car Queen. And she drives just as well as Tanner, had a bad crash last year, while leading the race, hurt her back. Then a Cart race broke her foot, no racing luck yet. Been following Tanner for 4 years, he is a gentleman on and off track. Needs support. They are great people.
Great family for sure! I talked at length with their mom...she was awesome. I wish I would have been recording it to include it in the video. Great podium finish last night in the High Limit show in Oregon. Thanks for watching...HMM
Another excellent video HMM! Your videos are always good! Tanner and Carly are two very talented people! They’re both very respectful and humble. The world needs more folks like that! I hope they both make it big time!! Thanks for sharing!!
So great to meet Tanner and Carly. Super people and what a blessing to have a hobby/life pursuit as a family affair. Hard work, but a true passion for the sport is obvious! Thanks HMM! 🏁
Nice video Don. I'vfe met both Tanner and Carly several times. Very nice folks. I was at the Attica Allstar race a few years ago. It was Tanner's 18th birthday.....and his first Allstar race.
I have met this young man and his family in Knoxville this year at the nationals. For someone still learning his craft he is very professional off the track and very professional on the track. Go team Holmes from Australia
👍👍..neat story on the brother/ sister racing duo there ...I caught a glimpse of an engine there..not sure what it was 😂.. thanks for another one feller 👍👊
Thank you HMM, another great video. Love these interviews with up and coming drivers and tire specialist. Here's hoping they continue there racing. Great job!
Tanner has come along really well the last couple of years. That team works their butt's off. Carly is pretty good driver herself. She was really starting to get fast when she had her wreck not of her doing.
What a cool racing family the Holmes are! I had the opportunity to meet the whole fam last weekend at Chico. I can see where the drive and passion come from just talking to “Momma” Holmes!!! Sometimes meeting your hero is underwhelming not the case with Tanner and crew chief Carly🏁
Thanks...I appreciate your commentary on the Holmes' family. I had a great conversation with their mom at Knoxville...and the whole time we were talking I was saying to myself, "I should be recording this." ... super interesting conversation. Thanks racerdad. HMM
Thanks again Don ! I'll admit I don't follow Tanner Holmes, but I will be paying more attention, going forward. Thanks for the shots of the track prep. Look forward to more of your take on the Nationals.
Well I just binge watch all your videos Don I've been a little absent this year working two jobs 7 days a week and I decided to take a couple days off and binge watch TH-cam videos I haven't seen for a while. Still doing a great job buddy.
Really enjoyed this video. I think a lot of people outside of racing don't realize what a family sport it is, especially at the grassroots level. Tanner seems like a good guy and a great racer. I found it interesting how he mentioned when you are a bit off on a bigger track you are really off. In the DIRT Sportsman cars I found that as well. On a bullring if your car is off you can adjust your driving style more, be smooth and take advantage of other peoples mistakes and often stay on the lead lap. On a bigger/ faster track if your car is a bit off the leaders will gobble you up in no time. Seems like it's that way in a lot of different types of cars. Carly seems like a smart young lady and no doubt a diehard racer. As I'm sure you've noticed, tire prep on a dirt car of any type is very critical and also labor intensive. Siping tires and inhaling rubber fumes and grinding tires and being covered in bits of rubber isn't that glamorous but it's a very important task. Stagger and even matching tires is an art in itself.
Super cool family. I also had a great conversation with Tanner's mom; I only wish I would have recorded it. Considering the speeds on bigger tracks, it seems even a little off is going to show up big-time on the clock. Yeah...the whole tire management thing sounds, not only labor-intensive, but tedious. It's a tough job...and Carly is just the gal for it! Thanks Gregg.
met tanner at the jokersjackpot, hes a bit of a force of nature and a natural infront of the camera, full of energy too, and carly is very adept at setting up cars there is a real art, and a lot to know, they might not be brad sweet yet but i n time I think she will get there.
Yeah...I missed you at the Joker's Jackpot. I took a pic of "The Boss" logo on Tanner's car without realizing that it was Tanner's car. I wasn't familiar with him at that time, but since have come into his story. Sorry I missed your last reply...you left a lengthy reply, but now I can't find it. Thanks again...HMM
Really like to see someone put a deal together for these kids to race on our "Bullrings" down under and I don't mean just the Eastern seaboard or just in the West, some of our country tracks would love to be able to promote them as a drawcard.. Never say never.
Carly is the boss, drivers are easy to find, but a great crewchief is harder to find. :) By the way, met them both at Knoxville a few weeks as well as their mom, ALL great people! :)
Love the videos! I’m actually going up to DuQuoin this weekend to watch usac and the modifieds… have you been up there? Wanting to get into the pits but not sure if they do that
All you do is find out where Promoter Track Enterprises is selling pit passes. Be a little more than a grandstand ticket but well worth the experience. I've been to the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds more than 30 times over the years. Working for ARCA 22 years straight took me there every Labor Day weekend. Wish I was going...thanks Jacob. HMM
Cool stuff. I know tanner’s on track results are still a work in progress but I’ve always appreciated his hustle off the track. I don’t know that anyone works harder in that regard. TH-cam, Facebook, finding sponsors. I wonder how many hours of work goes into making just one of his 15 min videos? 10+ hours?
Tanner's off-track marketing is incredible. I know he works super hard at it...he literally never stops. A 15-minute video for me would be at least 20 hours...thanks! HMM
Not to tear Tanner down , but Tanner had the potent ride in the Shark racing team towards the end of last season for enough races to do something and did very little . Tanner should return to his home tracks and win races and some championships to build up his resume to attract some solid sponsors or to turn the heads of some traveling series owners heads . At this rate he will only be seen as an “ also ran “ ! More local wins , some championships and he might find himself in a few years in another top flight seat .
Tanner sure looked top-flight last night at the Douglas County Dirtrack with a podium finish in the High Limit show against some of the best. I see a bright future for Tanner and Carly. HMM

Once again, another fine video, Don!
An interesting brother/sister race combo! I wonder if Tanner has ever considered racing USAC non wing cars.
Don't know...like to see it for sure. Great family! HMM

Carly can drive well she has win in a limited sprint before. And is super fast in outlaw karts. Been watching Holmes for years.
