Mattel scouts need to have talented designers and Arjan is a true artist with dolls I would never have thought twice about. If these came designed and packaged the way Arjan does the dolls Mattel Barbie would be bought more at the Collector level and I for one would be willing to pay for quality upgrades.
I reviewed Fashionista 103 back in 2019, and she had a wonky eye which was very disappointing because I always examine the Doll's face first before I buy them. However, she did came with a pair of sunglasses, so I used them to hide the wonkyness.

These cutie reveals were a great idea and I'm sure kids love them, but as a doll collector, "reveal" dolls give me high level anxiety. Not seeing a doll before I buy her is always a hit and miss, and with my luck, I usually miss. I will probably still get a couple though.😁😁😁
Shouldn’t it be possible to return the doll, if it’s with a defect? I mean it’s logical… you can’t see what you are buying. And ending up with a doll with a defect, say for a kid, is just mean.

Despite the disappointment with the Sloth doll, Arjen, you made her look fabulous! You're so clever with your hair styling. As usual, your choice of clothing for styling for was amazing. I preferred her over the llama doll. She looks beautiful.
Most dolls have a wonk these days, I think what really bothers us is the side the wonk occurs, based on if we’re left or right handed etc, and how out brains work and process images, I’ve noticed this with myself where I don’t really mind when an eye is bigger on my preferred side, but really notice when it’s the opposite. Best way to tell if a doll is wonky is to flip her upside down and measure her features without distractions.
You always do a great job with the makeovers. The face-sculpt (Bambi/new Teresa) for the sloth doll is really pretty, but I avoid buying any doll on-line with that sculpt because I have been so unlucky with wonk-eye on dolls with the sculpt. You did such a good job dealing with the wonk-eye. After the makeover, I couldn’t tell that she was wonky.

If they were offered as styled by you, I most certainly would buy these cuties. So impressed with how you handled the inevitable disappointment we face as collectors. Her wonky eye was cute. I don't think I have the skills or know how to handle a challenge with hair texture such as these seem to have. Quick tip. Persistent glue head.. I tried, baby powder, dry shampoo, Goo gone ( Nasty stuff) finally because of yet another glue head comb through I used a spray bottle of Vinegar and Water. I thought 'Why not". Sprayed thoroughly, combed using a pet flea comb. Dry and repeat, drying hair with a coarse absorbent towel. Repeat until satisfied with the hair when dry. Rewet with the vinegar and water spray . Style as desired. Any residual grease, glue or bad smells vanish. Very cost effective and efficient, however it takes a bit of time. This White Vinegar Solution mixed at approximately 1/3 vinegar to water solution is so helpful and cleans, deodorizes and is safe. Use some of the mixed vinegar solution ( mine is in a spray bottle) plus mild dish soap to spray with the solution, wash and rinse clothing or costumes for your dolls. So far I have been loving this old fashioned cleaner for almost everything. It's bacteriological because of the mild acidity. 🙂🙏🥰 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I just got the Llama. Now all I need to get is the sloth. I'm really obsessed with the cutie reveal line, I'd like to give them made to move bodies but because of a stroke I had a few years ago, I'm unable to. My dolls, because of it, have to stay in their animal outfits.😐 It doesn't stop me from collecting them though and enjoying them.🙂 I enjoy watching you giving them made to move bodies and I always enjoy your makeovers! 🙂 Mattel should hire you to give outfit ensembles for the dolls and let you design a doll or two. On the Fantasy series they should have include a dragon. I instead of a sloth.

Loved it as always. So disappointing when they have factory defects and poor quality hair, I'm not a big fan of this series the Barbie is so pale should be in the winter series instead, and the fantasy streaks and yellow blond not doing it for me at all, I just rerooted my Bunny girl witout the colour streaks much better. The tan girl is stunning Shame about the eyes. I used my looks petite girl to do a MTM skipper that im yet to complete.You still did an amazing job as always. 💜💞💓

I am anthropomorphizing too much... Maybe I'm too excited about Monster High, but I'm sure the doll that is differently abled appreciates your styling tips to make her look her best! Just like humans are not all perfectly symmetrical, sometimes a doll isn't either. Delilah has albinism and wears glasses over her sensitive eyes, and still looks fantastic, right? Sometimes I wish you would do a behind the scenes/ backstage video, show your stash of MTM bodies, talk about how you collect clothing, etc.! I think we'd enjoy that. 💖

That’s a such a bummer for the sloth!! I had a similar problem with the first series puppy girl, she had huge bug eyes compared to everyone else’s screenings lol. I recently got the llama and I love her!! And I have to say I agree it’s frustrating to not be able to see the screenings beforehand. I really want the pink Barbie extra fancy and some of the new fashionistas but every time I go in store, they have some of the worst pixelation I’ve ever seen which sucks because there’s so many girls I want but the face screening quality control is awful 😭💔

That’s the trouble with “reveal” dolls. You can’t check them in stores to see if there’s any “wonkyness”. Not being able to see what you’re buying increases the chances of getting a doll with defects and, to me, it’s unfair. Not only to kids, but to adult collectors like us too. Mattel really needs better quality control. Just saying.

That’s the trouble with “reveal” dolls. You can’t check them in stores to see if there’s any “wonkyness”. Not being able to see what you’re buying increases the chances of getting a doll with defects and, to me, it’s unfair. Not only to kids, but to adult collectors like us too. Mattel really needs better quality control. Just saying.

Uuggghhh! I've never ordered online bc I like to see their faces before I buy them for exactly this reason (wonky eyes)! But wonky eyes AND horrible hair?!? Oh no, I think she would be an immediate body donor. You can make it LOOK good, but it is just so coarse and rough and NO FUN TO PLAY WITH! Nooooo!
