I would’ve loved to see a winking screening. Imagine the little wink peaking over the cat eye sunglasses. That would have been so cute, unique and very collectible.
Gorgeous gowns, a sensational suit and thanks to boiling water, Malibu was cured of her “swollen glands “. 😂 I laughed so hard at her appearance that I cried. Mattel has no quality control. Anyone could see there was a big issue with her head while she was still in the box. But your cure was sure! 🩷🌷🩷

As a black doll collector, if Brooklyn didn’t have braids, curls or an Afro, I personally would not have purchased her. And there are a lot of styles you can do with micro braids. You just treat it as if the hair was loose.
Terrific video! Love the way you style hair. Malibu looks so pretty with her hair washed and redone. Glad you got the head bump straightened out, too. I'm getting the blonde for Christmas. Poor thing has to live with her bloated, dented head until December. I'm sure I'll revisit your video when she arrives.

Great Job Again and Always Arjen! I did get the Malibu and am not considering the Brooklyn. Your hair and plastic surgery skills are amazing! I watched your FOMO video for the 3rd time to help me be more selective and enjoying what I have. When strolling down the doll aisle, I have thought to myself, "Remember what Arjen said, do I really love this doll enough to buy it and if I buy it, what will I do with it."
I'm obsessed with these two, and I now love them even more after the looks you gave them, I really hope we get some beautiful pink Birthday Wishes dolls with these two heads soon! I also love the Model Muse body with the two bend arms, it's the only body that I feel can replace the Superstar era bodies for me personally.

I am team both! Brooklyn's hair is twisted not braided. I think if you want to take them apart you can, not sure about the hair quality bif you do. Malibu's hair, I love that you used the curlers. So pretty and curly. My favorite outfits, the birthday dresses🎉🎉
I had a silk stone reproduction of the original Barbie that came out for the 15th anniversary of Barbie in 1974. I played with her the same as the click knee Barbies I had as a kid.
I keep going back and forth as to which to get. I was going to get Brooklyn, but I have that pink Silkstone outfit that looks so good on Malibu. They are $100 on Amazon in Canada, so I might wait to see if they go on sale. I would like both, but not for the regular price.

I'm so glad you were able to fix it. There is no way they didn't realize that on a collector doll. Hello Mattel quality control. The gowns are so beautiful it seems longer than 65 years for Barbie but its cute to recognize her. The faces are pretty good work to restore the head shape it might return though this happened to a few of mine but I used sterile cotton balls inside the head, there isnt a neck peg either, and the dent hasnt come back. The bent arm position is a little weird the dress is nice.
I know you think you don't have as many styling options with braids, but we wear & style them in countless ways. Maybe look up some microbraid styles & try them out. I personally find styling braids is much easier than styling loose hair. I believe in you! You really can't ruin them. I hope I can get the Brooklyn. I love her hair it was my go-to style as a teenager! I know you would prefer saran, but I I'm not a fan of Black dolls with straight hair. I really wat to see her with big beautiful natural hair like Barbie Extra #1. OMG! So this is what you were talking about on your previous response to my comment. That's just so bad. I hope they stop doing that cause sometimes it ruins the dolls head. Could've been a lot better if they boxed it like the 90's where they used like a wire holding the neck and a plastic for the hair instead. BTW: my hubby, who's a big supporter of mine when it comes to collecting, preferred the Brooklyn one over the Malibu.
I'm glad you got your closed mouth Millie's head fixed. That's one case where you definitely have to de-box. I will likely de-box mine too simply because I don't like the pose the doll is in. It's supposed to look like she has her hands fashionably resting on her hips. But they're not even close and they're fastened into place with her elbows so raised up she looks like she's about to dance at a hoedown. Not model a beautiful 65th Anniversary gown. It's a shame too because I love the perfect Barbie pink background behind the doll in that particular gown. I might just free her and then pose her back in her box. The doll itself is SO pretty, I love the hair, makeup and jewelry marking that it's her sapphire Anniversary. It's a splendid presentation except for the hands and elbows being fixed in place and not being where they should be. But other than that and those still pesky quality issues like you had to deal with, the dolls are really great for Barbie's 65th. I loved when you put Millie in the Proudly Pink suit, that looked amazing. So fun to see them dressed in the 90's boufy ballgowns too. I don't know if you do this, but I always then wonder what the next Anniversary doll for her 70th will look like? Happy Easter. 🐰🐣🎀
I got the Brooklyn for free for being an Amazon Vine member. I picked her because of her new face mold and her micro braids. I paired her with the 40th Anniversary Barbie. I took her out of the box immediately. I don't like the way she looked in the box. Her glasses do look cute on one of my reproductions. Don't get the whole sunglasses with a gown thing. She should have come with more accessories.
The blonde malibu looks like me when my face puffed up on prednisone 😂 (from a front facing viewpoint), i also just refuse to like the millie sculpt... the brooklyn doll is much more my style shes stunning with the closed mouth sculpt!

In the sketches, it looked like the over skirt and bust would’ve been more like a pleather material, and though I’m sad we didn’t get that, what makes me sadder are the raw edges on the scalloped ends. The quality between these girls and the 60th anniversary Barbie is not too far apart, but far enough that I wouldn’t buy them for more than 50€ :(
i am probably alone on this and am sorry if i offend. mattels droping the ball with their collector dolls. the quality is just not there anymore. more and more of them are flawed. i am going to stick to vintage and the 90s reproduction dolls. i love you barbie happy 65th birthday, you bring me such joy and love

I have Brooklyn Anniversary Barbie and I have to say that i agree about the hair. But anyways she looks beautiful. I was thinking about dresing her into Superstar Christie '77 yellow dress and see how she will Look. What do you think?

OMG! So this is what you were talking about on your previous response to my comment. That's just so bad. I hope they stop doing that cause sometimes it ruins the dolls head. Could've been a lot better if they boxed it like the 90's where they used like a wire holding the neck and a plastic for the hair instead.
BTW: my hubby, who's a big supporter of mine when it comes to collecting, preferred the Brooklyn one over the Malibu.

I'm glad you got your closed mouth Millie's head fixed. That's one case where you definitely have to de-box. I will likely de-box mine too simply because I don't like the pose the doll is in. It's supposed to look like she has her hands fashionably resting on her hips. But they're not even close and they're fastened into place with her elbows so raised up she looks like she's about to dance at a hoedown. Not model a beautiful 65th Anniversary gown. It's a shame too because I love the perfect Barbie pink background behind the doll in that particular gown. I might just free her and then pose her back in her box.
The doll itself is SO pretty, I love the hair, makeup and jewelry marking that it's her sapphire Anniversary. It's a splendid presentation except for the hands and elbows being fixed in place and not being where they should be. But other than that and those still pesky quality issues like you had to deal with, the dolls are really great for Barbie's 65th. I loved when you put Millie in the Proudly Pink suit, that looked amazing. So fun to see them dressed in the 90's boufy ballgowns too. I don't know if you do this, but I always then wonder what the next Anniversary doll for her 70th will look like? Happy Easter. 🐰🐣🎀

I got the Brooklyn for free for being an Amazon Vine member. I picked her because of her new face mold and her micro braids. I paired her with the 40th Anniversary Barbie. I took her out of the box immediately. I don't like the way she looked in the box. Her glasses do look cute on one of my reproductions. Don't get the whole sunglasses with a gown thing. She should have come with more accessories.

The blonde malibu looks like me when my face puffed up on prednisone 😂 (from a front facing viewpoint), i also just refuse to like the millie sculpt... the brooklyn doll is much more my style shes stunning with the closed mouth sculpt!

In the sketches, it looked like the over skirt and bust would’ve been more like a pleather material, and though I’m sad we didn’t get that, what makes me sadder are the raw edges on the scalloped ends. The quality between these girls and the 60th anniversary Barbie is not too far apart, but far enough that I wouldn’t buy them for more than 50€ :(

i am probably alone on this and am sorry if i offend. mattels droping the ball with their collector dolls. the quality is just not there anymore. more and more of them are flawed. i am going to stick to vintage and the 90s reproduction dolls. i love you barbie happy 65th birthday, you bring me such joy and love
