@norbicsek90 kel'thuzad has returned more now this will be the 4th expansion featuring him and proving one thing: "There won't always be a lich king, but he'll always be the king of liches.
Well, it's more like he never left. Kel'Thuzad is one of the few characters that was not simply "a step ahead" of everyone else, but an actual visionary, a pure prodigy, one of the Leonard Da Vinci of Azeroth. This include Illidan, Aegwyn, Ner'zhul, and a few others that I can't recall ATM. The way the story was written before, these were either the ones that helped us survive impossible odds across several decades, if not ages, or the vilains that got us into world ending mess. They're high IQ people in a world of magic with the benefice of insight close to that of an actual spectator. At some point if you can master the arcane, split or make echo of yourself ain't no way you wont make shadow clones to do much stuff on the side, or create your own pocket dimension, horcrux or whatever else. Lorewise some of the most powerful High Priests, Highlord Paladin & Archdruids (mainly our characters) could heal the Plaguelands, the Dead Scar, and Desolace with little preparation but only after 4 decades of non stop challenges. Just think about the few characters that could already do it 50 years ago, that's how you understand how truly powerful Ner'zhul and Kel'Thuzad were/are and that Gul'dan was nothing in comparaison.
Doron, I dont think this kelthuzad is real, but probably closer to the simulacrum of sindragosa in dragon flight. A bit of memory, advanced magic, but overall, still just a leftover shadow. I feel like since this is a quest about the kirintor, its showing us their greatest failure, how a quest for just power without purpose is empty and the only thing remaining is just an echo of past ambitions. The kirintor need a new direction, not just hoarding magic, but using it for the benefit of azeroth
Same level of writing... From these writers and everyone like them from all of entertainment, everyone comes back, with a little twist: some connection, change or a retcon that links them to The Message... Their Message...
If I had to guess, it's possible that this is another 'soul split' like the one Uther had. I know that lore comes from Shadowlands, but since KT's story was finished in Shadowlands, maybe they want to continue it from there, and first step is making a split soul that can exist separately from the Lich one.
Kel'thuzad is a good character to bring back, he's iconic, he's got loads of lore behind him, and the way this is seemingly done, it opens the door for other powerful mages to return in a similar fashion, like Antonidas and Rhonin. Plus, since Kel'thuzad read in the book of Medivh, there's loads of stories that can be played out in the future.
For me, he had to become a permanent boss like a headless horseman. Every year the scourge attacks with its floating necropolis . Raid with some bosses defeated from the expansion of the year, but revived with necrotic magic
Kel'minator is back once again. I really hope for Dalaran restoration in its original location, revealing many secrets that remained to the rest of the Azeroth hidden...
Kalecgos: The explosion effected long range teleportation, I couldn't get here until now. Me: Bro I literally teleported to and from Stormwind ten times today. I won't even talk about how many times in the last month and a half.
I feel like kel'thuzad being back simulacram or otherwise in a capacity like this could be a good way to finally introduce necromancers to the game. Just a thought
Destroying stuff to make a better more modern model version of the place or thing is pretty awesome. I was super sad when daleran was destroyed. Felt like game of thrones when everyone cool dies lol.
This KT is much like Sindragosa. I think they're gonna rewrite him to help us find Dalaran. If Khadgar returned then the city has to be somewhere. KT was a master summoner if i remember the dialog from WC3 correct. This is gonna be plot important.
