I read recently that using airborne LiDAR a group had discovered a lost city in the area were he went missing
I saw something in the National Geographic, they had the LIDAR visuals. Most definately grid patterns under the surface. How thick can the Fauna grow in 5 years? How much in a 1000 years? The Human being is fickle in the face of nature.
Maybe they should use MIDAR to locate him.
Reading the credits, this documentary was made in 2012. A lot has come to light in the 12 years since then.
Like what? Dish....
Yes with sat and lidar, still an interesting doco though, for its time.
Show us the light 💡
The Amazon has been studied much deeper. We know they had very large civilizations. We have found them using l.i.d.a.r laser imaging.
@@tranoble7321 The only thing I know, is that Brazil is destroying it faster and faster, until all Brazil looks exactly like Europe or the States. No more tropical rainforest. Just morons in huge pickup trucks. And nothing green.
Only the 1000th video on this story. Good work Absolute.
I don't understand how they got correspondence out of the jungle? How did the runners find them then dash out of a dense jungle on a regular basis? But when they disappeared, no runner was there to report what happened. Am I missing a detail?

Eldorado
Edgar Allan Poe
1809 -
1849
Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old-
This knight so bold-
And o’er his heart a shadow
Fell, as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
‘Shadow,’ said he,
‘Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?’
‘Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,’
The shade replied,-
‘If you seek for Eldorado!’

fun fact, i am related to this man, what a coincidence for him to appear on my fave youtube channel
Me to I'm a Fawcett and always thought we were related lmfao 😂✌
If i could've, i would want to continue his search and possibly find them as well.
wow some people are so brave and have no fear
It's also possible someone found it in the past and stayed quiet, would have been the smart thing to do 😮...
Yeah I figure it’s more likely that they died before telling someone cuz that’s a tough secret to keep when it takes a dozen people to go anywhere / do anything on an expedition like that.
@@GeneralBlorp I agree, but if I found something like that, I would keep quiet otherwise a million people would go there looting and destroy it
This documentary is a masterpiece of adventure and history! The depth of research and the way it chronicles Percy Fawcett's relentless pursuit of the lost city of Zed are nothing short of amazing. The detailed narrative and the suspenseful presentation highlight the perils and passion of Fawcett's journey. It's a must-watch for anyone interested in exploration and the enduring allure of ancient mysteries.
If you want to know about Fawcett read the book.
ONLY FAWCETT I CARE about is FARRAH FAWCETT amigo.⚓️✌🏻🇺🇸
this is superb advice for most every event
In the early 1900 hundreds the world was much different and if you were privileged to be raised in a decent family and had food to eat and education you are ready to explore the world . If in the other hand you got raised in a poor family no resources no food no education and just learn from seeing others things could’ve turned out differently. 😮
The 90’s movie Congo reminds me of this story.
Interesting indeed.
Could you please reduce the volume of the background score. It is overpowering and I could not hear the words.
And this is coming from an Indian who is used to movies with huge background scores. 😂😂😂😊

First 10-15 mins

If you have rifles and ammunition, you can always hunt and get meat. I don’t think they starved. I think that the man with the leg injury definitely slowed them down. They probably went to the natives for help, and were murdered in their sleep. As the narrator stated, the Indians were very aggressive in that area.
I wanna go
Thanks, cutting edge horticulture and not a sign of Monsanto!!
Interesting. 10yrs ago, 20yrs ago. Doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. Don't harsh my mellow.
Less than 5 mins in Fawcett finds Roman remains in a cave and the documentary makers show an ancient Greek coin. Great stuff!! I can this will be a top quality, serious production
oh well, it's just a TV show.
Well there was never going to be a pot of gold.Half of Americans would have been out there.
at 7:31 is that a statue of a woman at the waterfall?
Jungles, those jungles, can be death traps even for the most experienced people in this world.
Teddy Roosevelt went into jungle after he was president
At least this is factual. No Egyptian swag found by Kinkade in the Grand Canyon.
Gold wouldn't be that rare if all the hidden gold of myth were found
Gold isn't rare, just strictly regulated
Sounds like Los Angeles in 300 years
😂😂😂😂 the world you mean.
Bad news following Madame Balinsky, pray he & his son found salvation, which i think they did once they saw what was coming.

They went in through the small villages behaving like they are better and exploiting the villages and the people just like they did all around the world and then hid things they discovered and kept for them self

the explorers who find the Engineer's will have everyone go OH so aliens are real just dont go touching the black gue or face hugger pods .
Sorry, but I could not get enthused in the Col Indiana Jones and his lost expeditions. For what purpose? For what result? All these expeditions were doomed from the start. All predictably to end in failure and death.
So Who is the Rich guy that will find the gold then? Disgusting to even think about really. 🤕😄
A greedy dork.

If there was an entire city made of gold don’t you think youd be able to see it on google maps? Oh snap… 🙄
Not at all lol Imagine hundreds of years of vegetation growth.. You'd not see a thing it'd be buried

John 3:16 Context
13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
