@LordVucious Part of the reason why I'm so passionate about this stuff is my N64, Saturn, Dreamcast, etc. They've been in my house for years, they've become more than novelty items. They've brought me many memories over the years while I was growing up. Video games kept me off the streets. Which is why I feel after owning them for so long, I become curious of their maximum potential. RGB is an untapped potential many of us Americans will never take advantage of.May as well treat ourselves to it.
I remember as a child I used to press random buttons with sabrewulf and I would do combos out the ass and I always best my older brothers lol this takes me back bro good shit
And here's your courtesy Virtual E-Cookie to do whatever you want with. Eat it, throw it away, use it as a doorstopper, just whatever floats your boat.
I really, really enjoy your playthroughs of this game. I enjoyed playing the game but was never much good at it. These videos along with the annotations are not only highly entertaining but also ver constructive. Great! Thanks! Also, Jago stage music FTW! =D
Excellent vid! Sabrewulf was my favourite when I played this game too, at least partly due to the easy Ultra, the short hop he can do, and just the fact that I like wolf/werewolf characters in general. Master Difficulty is pretty tough IIRC, but you kicked butt through and through.
I mean "getting their ass kicked" as in being killed. I think Riptor was killed by Combo, and I don't know what happened to Cinder. Thunder had no reason to be around once he did what he set out to do. Remember, while Orchid did win the tournament, there are still a dozen or less (or more) other characters competing, and they could still be fighting while you're climbing the ladder. Unless you kill them.
i noticed this when i first played conkers bad fur day on multiplayer when a charcter gets the katana that character talsk like jago afterall conker was made by rare as well even on single player when conker is standin idle he plays killer instinct on a gameboy lol i love references
I've mentioned this in another comment, but I'm on a bit of a break from video making while I'm working on something else (except one minor video recently, but that was a spur of the moment thing). Not to mention that my drive for playing KI Gold (and a few other games) was a little drained overtime, so I can't promise you anymore playthroughs for sometime, I'm afraid. My apologies if you or any other folk were expecting more videos of this game from me right now.
@Cook4251 Well, I didn't plan on doing anyone else for a while. I just wanted to get Glacius and Sabrewulf out of the way. However, that doesn't mean that I won't come back to this. Maybe I will do Orchid next if I do come back. After all, it would be good comparison since I play as her in MUGEN (though that version is more from the original KI, but that's besides the point).
What? I've been doing the bat finisher throughout most of the video, and the only recorded method of doing it is holding the Quick Punch (B button by default mapping). Not to mention there's no default button for L (which was something I completely forgot) as I have been using the defaut button scheme the entire time. So unless you've mapped Quick Punch as L, I'm afraid that you must have been confused about something.
@kalai131 The descriptions are mostly for those who are new to the game so that they can follow on the in-game's events and why I chose my character. Not to mention it reinforces what I say in the video, hence why I often say for folk to "read the descriptions" first before looking at the video, so that I don't get any "why did you do this" type of comments (like this one) later. Especially since I can only fit so much in the description box. I don't see what's so hard to grasp here.
I know you were probably pissed at getting tagged once by Kim Wu and taking away your perfect victory just as much as losing once to Gargos. Ugh. This was awesome though, thanks brother.
That's kind of cold for the other person to force you to sub to them in order to get help. No one should hold simple info for a petty ransom, but that's a whole different subject altogether. Anyway, quick punch is really any given button you want to set it to be. However, if you have it on the N64, the default is the B button. Finally, I can't promise to post anymore KI Gold as I have other games to start on and others to return to playing. I blame my slow uploading habits for that. :P
Funny you reply to this video now when a couple of years ago you made a comment (one of the first, might I add) when I did my Glacius playthough... which was uploaded a day before this one back in the day. Strange how time works and flies by like that.
I've just turned on KI Gold and done exactly what you just said; and as I've expected, nothing happened. Nothing is assigned to the L button on default, and I've been holding on to it for several seconds (up to 55 seconds) before releasing with no effects. The only way that the L button will activate the bat finisher is if you assigned quick punch to that button because nothing is going to happen otherwise. So unless someone else can confirm this, on default settings, it just won't work.
@IYMsmasher To do Sabrewulf's ultra, charge back, then forward while pressing Quick Kick (or Light Kick or Weak Kick, or whatever you prefer to call it).
Ka, Ka, Ka, Kombo Breaker!!! Awesome Victory! Ultra Victory! Knock off, Knock off, Knock off!!! "Skeleton Overboard" and just for the hell of it.... Sabrewulf....."Carcass"-----> *Gargos * 15:10
aye bro im not sure how you do ultras actually i have no sane clue whatsoever. please tell me the button combos to do it for characters like tj combo and jago lol. and do you use the default button layout or do you switch it up?
@Twanky2Ham Well first, I use the default layout. The N64 controller makes it hard to adapt to different configurations for me. Next, if I'm understanding what you're saying, doing ultras is simple: when the your opponents meter is flashing red on their second lifebar, do a combo and finish with the ultra command. As for what command to do ultras for each character, I can't quite tell you completely since I don't remember them all, but I'd check places like Gamefaqs for that.
@LordVucious No problem. Perhaps I value these trivial things too much... However I would be lying if I said there wasn't a strong possibility of it improving the experience dramatically. Once I made the upgrade I saw cells on Fulgore I never saw before, it makes Orchids upside down move a bit sexier, overall everything is an absolute bliss to look at. Never went back to RF/AV. After I get my Famicom modded I'll grab a capture card and make a KI vid for you so you can see the difference.
@Cook4251 That's funny because I was going to mention that exact same thing when I made that "mint-vanilla" Glacius crack. Great minds think alike, maybe?
@Wallcrawler Hm. Well, here's my opinion on the issue. While enhanced picture quality is nice, that is a very trivial matter to me when all I care about is the content of the video, i.e. the gameplay. As long as the video is viewable (as in not looking like garbled junk where you can't make out anything), that's all that matters. After all, keeping the quality of the memories of the game itself is what the N64 and this game in particular truly deserves. Though, I appreciate your concern.
Favorite sabrewulf combo. Pressure move --> shadow spin (3 bars) --> pressure move--> shadow spin (3 bars) --> super sabre flip. Uses the entire meter and has 19 hits and does 60% damage lol
Hold Quick Punch for a few seconds and release to the bats, and charge back then foward and press Quick Kick for the ultra. Also, please don't feel obligated to sub after getting this info. I'd rather want a sub simply for enjoying the videos I make than get subs after fulfilling some condition. I would have helped you regardless of if you subbed or not. So apologies if I came out a bit strict, but that's my thoughts on the matter.
Unless there is something that I didn't know about after many, many years of playing this game, I'm fairly confident that there is no knock off area in that stage.
@LordVucious for some strange reason the ultra dont want to come out when i press the buttons, maybe are problems with may emulator :/ i am learning hw to play with Fulgor (my favorite character) and i can do the ultra with him, even being a harder comand than sabrewulf ultra :/. maybe i need more practice, thanks for your help
Sure. To have access to any ultra combo, you need your opponent in the same situation that I told you for having access to using a No Mercy. To perform an ultra you start off with any combo and then perform a command that specific to the character you're playing as. In Sabrewulf's case, that command is charge back, then move foward with the quick kick button.
haha i knew u would say tht :p sry bout tht but last time i asked for info (same game i think it was tusk) they made me sub n thn tld me, i enjoyed the vid either n thnx for the help. ive played this game 7 years n nevr learned how to do it. when i do its at random
What, that electrocution finisher? I knew about that, but I found that a hassle to use as it's mostly used as an Ultimate and I have a strangly odd time holding the L button (maybe opposed to holding the R button which I'm more naturally used to).
Good video. The picture seems a little blurry. Were you using RF or Composite cables? I highly recommend you upgrade your N64 for an RGB mod. Enhanced performance in picture quality, close or better than HD despite the fact RGB SCART is an SD lead. I know someone who modded my N64 for RGB. Maybe he can help you. Hit me up if you're interested. Don't settle for any less! Give the 64 the longevity & quality it deserves!!
Oh, I see now. You play this game on emulator. I played this on an actual N64 were the default button is B for what you're trying to do (I've set the buttons to default in the game's options to make certain). We are doing the exact same thing, but since we're using different means to play the game, the buttons we press may be different in spite of us doing the exact same thing. Oh, and for the record, my opponents do flash red everytime I do this. The video proves that as I do it a lot.
There's not much to tell. When your opponent has the red lifebar and get said lifebar low enough to get it flashing, then you'll have access to Sabrewulf's (or anyone's) No Mercy. For Sabrewulf, in particular, all you need to perform his No Mercy is hold the quick punch for a few seconds and then release it, and you'll send out his bats that are used for his No Mercy. That's it. Note: stunning the opponent is not necessary to use it. It only makes it MUCH easier to use it. Got it?
I think this is a different Sabrewulf. I know for a fact the Spinal in this game is a different one. Orchid and Jago are the same from the last game (maybe not in moveset), this has a different model of Fulgore... Cinder got his ass kicked, and Riptor's was as well. I'm incredibly late, aren't I?
You have no idea how happy seeing that Ultra Combo made me. Sabrewulf is my favorite Killer Instinct character. Thank you for that.
This game was top tier, so underrated I remember playing it on in the garage with all my cousins and just beating all of them, memories man
@LordVucious Part of the reason why I'm so passionate about this stuff is my N64, Saturn, Dreamcast, etc. They've been in my house for years, they've become more than novelty items. I remember as a child I used to press random buttons with sabrewulf and I would do combos out the ass and I always best my older brothers lol this takes me back bro good shit
I havent seen this game in year's THANK YOU!!!!!!!! for my childhood
Words couldn't describe how much I miss this game.
And here's your courtesy Virtual E-Cookie to do whatever you want with. Eat it, throw it away, use it as a doorstopper, just whatever floats your boat.

I always wanted to just give sabrewulf a big hug ♥️
well no matter i hope you have videos of everyone cuz i faved this video
When your oppenent's second life meter is flashing hold L then release. I promise you you will love what it does
Great upload!
And THATS the way Lycans MUST fight ALL THE TIME AND EVERYWHERE!!!!
does anyone else think that this game needs a remake or something
crazy gameplay love it
Dude, that N64 logo... the music... oh gawd the memories... KI ALL THE WAY!
Excellent vid! Sabrewulf was my favourite when I played this game too, at least partly due to the easy Ultra, the short hop he can do, and just the fact that I like wolf/werewolf characters in general. Master Difficulty is pretty tough IIRC, but you kicked butt through and through.
always played Sabrewulf...had the most fluid motion and linkages from move to move and seemlessly hits combos
And you've just earned yourself a nice little cookie. *hands over delicious cookie*
This was entertaining to watch. Great job
Thanks. I think I can relax a little on trying to make my recordings more clearer next time i decide to do a play through
I mean "getting their ass kicked" as in being killed. I think Riptor was killed by Combo, and I don't know what happened to Cinder. OMG THIS IS IT.....I remember this game..it was this version not the other one. NOSTALGIC MEMORIES..
i noticed this when i first played conkers bad fur day on multiplayer when a charcter gets the katana that character talsk like jago afterall conker was made by rare as well even on single player when conker is standin idle he plays killer instinct on a gameboy lol i love references
Best KI ever made. Best Sabrewulf moveset ever designed.
good how i miss this game
SabreWulf looks so badass in this game!
u had me laughing in the annotations at the end but anyways good upload bro good job
OMG!!! i miss this game, i remember i was so good with orchid ;(!!!

Sabrewulf looks badass in this game! :D
wow this is amazing

Actual console, recorded through VHS, transferred to DVD via VHS/DVD converter, and transfered DVD data to AVI with another converter.

how do you do the "ultra combo"? i have tried without succes ):
yo, was this on a emlutaor or the actual system? if it was the system, what did you use to record it?
Ahhhhhh Nostalgia
Sabrewulf Glacius and fulgore were my favorite characters I used to play the shiz outta this game when I was a strapping young lad
@Twanky2Ham Well first, I use the default layout. The N64 controller makes it hard to adapt to different configurations for me. I like this sabrewulf look better than the new one D;
Don't need to walk the plank for a free e-cookie either, so here's yours to do whatever you want to do with.
I'm new here, but thanks for filling me in dude! :)
Favorite sabrewulf combo.
Pressure move --> shadow spin (3 bars) --> pressure move--> shadow spin (3 bars) --> super sabre flip.
Uses the entire meter and has 19 hits and does 60% damage lol
thats the damage cao in this game, i think. Even if you do more hits!

@Seadragon77 Here's your "virtual cookie" I promised. Choose wisely as it can transform into the cookie you like most.
I've already told how to do the ultra in an earlier comment. Dig around the comments for a bit, and you will find your answer.
What, that electrocution finisher? I knew about that, but I found that a hassle to use as it's mostly used as an Ultimate and I have a strangly odd time holding the L button (maybe opposed to holding the R button which I'm more naturally used to).
sabrewulf is raw.
@ChristienBizzle Oh crap! I almost forgot to give you your cookie for saying that. So, here's your cookie to do whatever with.
you good vicious real good. BTW skeleton OVERBOARD!!!!!!
I always preferred this version to the arcade version.
no bro your not alone I do it too.
Lol, somebody loves his cookies. You want x100 overboards, here's your x100 E-Cookie. Have fun with that.
@dalecampbl5 Uh, yes I do. Why do you ask?
Damn, Orchid got wrecked
SKELETON OVERBOARD! Now give me my damn cyber cookie lmfao!
Orchid's blue pallette reminds me of MK2!Kitana.
Good video.

can you tell me where the knockoff area please?
