@4:25 you said the 635 was a 1984 car. It’s clearly a pre 1982 Phase l car, which can be identified by its rear bumper, plus the door cards and dashboard and gauges identify it as a Phase l 635. Even so it’s a very nice looking car and a good build.
You’re spot on with your knowledge of E24 production. I’m the fortunate owner of a 1986 M635 CSi, which is one of the 524 UK only cars. The car has been in my possession since 1993, so I’m well versed on the E24 history.
I wish you well with your channel and I’ve subscribed as well, so I look forward to seeing more of your content on your E24.

635 is rare beautiful but my opinion is it’s great how it is just the engine upgrade and little touches you mentioned

Beautiful car.. The spoiler and everything looks perefect. The hard lines looks good. I also think you should keep the pinstripe black but may be add something south Africa inside the pinstripes.

The gold stripes will be overkill. More specifically the gold will make the car look more dated than it is. I love the black "shadowline" sports colour that bmw used on its flagship models in the late 80s, moving away from the chrome aesthetics that it used on its lower range models.

Thabk you for sharing the information. I knw of far too many people which sold cars that were actually valuable but they ddnt have the knowledge about it.
Then the buyer with knowledge comes along and lowballs the seller.
Example of that, if I'm selling a 635csi that maybe needs work for r60000. But I don't really know what it is. Then the buyer with the knowledge now knows 60k is reasonable and it's only going to take 30k to put it right.
But what he does, he tells seller it's only worth 40k. Maybe seller is desperate and takes it. Now buyer spends 40k for car, 30k on restoring it. Then advertises for 600k.

I love how simple but elegant it is.The number plate is a ZA feature so if you take it to the UK it would stand out,and maybe paint masking tape in gold and put it over the pinstripe to see if you like it 👍

The yellow 635 is in Cape Town
I bought it from cape town and brought it to jhb.
It's a clean car with a appropriate name 🔥but don't change the black pinstripe to gold because of the brighter hue from the red...depending what shade of gold it is on the red I'm afraid it might swallow the pinstripe and make it not pop anymore like it is with the black against the red, plus it already complements the black plastics like the spoiler and other pieces on the car

I remember seeing a blue 635csi which had a set of original borbet 5star wheels on it for sale on Gumtree a good few years ago. Was guy wanted liked 35k for it but needed Allot of work. I walked away as the body was bad, engine was bad, interior was bad and if u not doing things urself, it will get very very expensive to put it right. But if I knew they would be this valuable few years later, I should have bought it😭😭😭. I wonder what happend to that car
