    I really appreciate your video series on the Elantra. I have a 2016 Elantra limited and every time I previously had run into an issue because I’d overlooked something (or was just clueless from the start!) your videos have solved my problem. Now I don’t wait for issues, if you have a video for my application, I’ll watch your video first and avoid the headaches. Very clear, methodical and thorough from the tools you need to the steps throughout the entire process- All instructional videos should use this format! Thank you and best of luck to you in all your endeavors!

    I have around 52k miles on my car. I don't know if it's the right time to do transmission fluid change but I do a lot of city driving. Would you recommend it?

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally think it is a little early for a transmission fluid change as that vehicle is rated for 'lifetime' fluid service life. However, since your driving is predominantly in the city, you may get a transmission flush at 60k miles. That way its just an easier number to remember the service mileage for records.

      There is no quick way to check the transmission fluid. No dipstick. The transmission is 'sealed'. However there is a way to drain and refill transmission fluid if you choose to get that done. The car has to be on a hoist to drain and refill the transmission fluid.

      Now older vehicles had transmissions where you could check the fluid. There used to be a dipstick, to check condition of oil and replace it when it went bad. Newer vehicles, like the 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra and the 2017-2018 Hyundai Elantra, have transmissions which are filled with transmission fluid that has a very long life. This transmission fluid is supposed to last the life of the vehicle. However, if you are going to keep the car for a long time, I suggest you drain and refill new fluid every 160,000 kms. On the bottom of the transmission there should be a drain plug and fill plug to put the new fluid.
