WATCH: Walther PPS M2, the gun that changed my mind

  • I have been looking for a good 9mm for some time now and came across the Walther PPS M2. As seen in an earlier video, I wasn't too impressed with the Walther trigger, however, after taking some of the comments into consideration I decided to give Walther another try and boy was I surprised. This little carry pistol has a great trigger and is very accurate. For being my first ever 9mm that I own, I am very excited to get this out to the range more and have some fun with it.

    After years of ownership the PPS M2 is still my main EDC. I prefer it over all others. I use the 6 round mags for ultra conceal summer t-shirt weather. One point you didn't mention which is huge for me is the PPS M2 striker indicator. When the trigger is being pulled the indicator rod slowly creeps out the back plate. This is a great safety feature. If you place your thumb over this indicator rod while holstering you get instant feedback on whether your trigger is catching on anything and your thumb may very well stop the trigger pull entirely. It's like having your thumb on the hammer while holstering.

      Ok but have you taken a look at the sig p365?? This walther has been my edc for years. Just picked up the p365 for my wife and I am stealing it from her. It’s smaller than the Walther AND holds 10 or 12 rounds. Plus it feels better in my hand. No brainer

    • @stopthephilosophicalzombie9017
      @stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great point about the striker indicator. You can even prevent the gun from firing with the pad of your thumb so it's basically impossible to have an accidental discharge while reholstering. Imagine how many "Glock legs" could have been prevented if this feature had been on all Glocks.

      @@8Forrest8Gump8 I tried the P365 and it's too small in my hand. I prefer the PPS, but I'm game to try the MC9 because it seems to be the same size.

      @@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 i agree the p365 is too much hype imo its clunky and the trigger isnt all that great.
      SURE you can spend few hundred bucks to tailor it to ones needs with say a WC grip module and a aftermarket trigger but thats all hogwash.
      The PPS will always be my one of my favorite EDC. Set and forget it EDC, no upgrades needed if you train, train train. PPl nowadays are always compensating skill for upgrades and expect to run the gun like a comp setup....

    Nice review! I don't regret buying the PPS M2. It's a sweet shooter, like its big cousin, the PPQ (I have the M1, with the paddle release). The PPQ trigger is nothing short of amazing. The PPS M2 trigger is really good too!

    I just bought one yesterday. Bought it used. It’s great. It will be my new EDC. I can’t get over how great it feels in my hand. Usually the single stack ergonomics don’t feel great to me (I even have smaller hands). Great video, brother!
    Side note: I appreciate you showing your missed shots. So many people on TH-cam try to look like the perfect marksmen and I wonder how many takes they had to do to get all shots on target or how much of it is cut in and out of videos. Honest man. Gotta love it!

      @JS-dh1qg Yeah the capacity wars are a welcome innovation but for something like 90% of self defense shootings only 2-3 rounds are fired. I certainly want to find a higher capacity micro-9 better than the PPS but I haven't. I do want to try the Canik MC9.

    I don't know why Walther is such a small brand in the U.S. They don't have the best marketing, and I guess Glock and S&W really dominate, but it's weird that Walther is barely ever mentioned among the big boys. Their guns are very high quality (as long as you stay away from the Umarex made ones, like the P22).
