Thank you, I didn't realize I was doing the square notch incorrectly. I was just doing one side, instead of three. And I learned a new one. The one to strip off thorns. Great video as always!
Thanks for talking about Mors, Blackie! As a Canadian, I obviously know of him very well, and everyone should definitely buy his book. He also created the very first "Super Shelter" -- variations of which are all over YT now.
Great video, Blackie.Great job on the notches, Well done! I haven't tried all those notches. Some of them I wasn't sure what they were meant for, now I know. Thanks! Now I'll have to try my favorite knives and see which ones perform the best. 👍🏻🔪
Ok. How about a "Barlow" challenge? You have to carve your tent pegs, pothooks, square, round reductions, "stripper" tool etc. I'm going to try this myself with the addition of building a bucksaw. I'm also asking James Bender at "Waypoint Survival" and James from Desert Fox.
Blackie, I'm looking for that illustration of the trip-stick by Mors Kochansky. I've lock through his book: Bushcraft and can't find fit. I know I've seen a paper copy in some publication.
hi Blackie would you be interested in a wiping cloth for blued guns that leave both a solvent and a hard wax to protect the surface finish in a very thin coat of wax.
Excellent brother I used the same knife to start mine off with! I appreciate you taking the challenge man and I appreciate you taking the time to show me how to do one!!
more skills videos on the way thanks for watching
I would like to use this for a training class I help with for young kid. There all home schooled. It is in a little mountain town at Wrightwood Ca.

Hi Blackie, greeting from Australia 🇦🇺. Thank you for making these videos.
Blackie, I'm looking for that illustration of the trip-stick by Mors Kochansky. I've lock through his book: Bushcraft and can't find fit. I know I've seen a paper copy in some publication.
Hey blackie do a video on how to sharpen a knife with all those curves
will do
There is your challenge guys...make your skill stick...and test your skills.😊
Your opinion of the K-Bar?
hi Blackie would you be interested in a wiping cloth for blued guns that leave both a solvent and a hard wax to protect the surface finish in a very thin coat of wax.
sounds interesting
I have only heard 1 other person speak of that stick and demonstrate it.😊
And that's the art...doing that flat cut on both sides of stick and...not break your stick!!.😊
Now if you ov tried this a 4 penny nial on the very top close to the pot hook magnetize it and it make a rude compass
good idea brother
Any carving whittling like this the old timers would have used their pocket knives.
How are you making the thumbnail for your videos ❓
I missed the page on the try stick, what page is it on?
Excellent brother I used the same knife to start mine off with! I appreciate you taking the challenge man and I appreciate you taking the time to show me how to do one!!
