to answer Doug's question I would rather be too small than too tall, it's just so much easier to find clothes when you're shorter, like I am a tall person but like all of the clothes I would want to wear are never tall enough for me unless I want to look like I'm wearing a parachute from how wide they are
From a short person, it's definitely not easier. Lots of clothes are just small enough but too small around the waist and shoulders. Pants are always too long or too tight. Kids size clothes have the same problems. It's hard to find clothes that fit right, unless you're willing to wear oversized clothes for the rest of your life.

Because of my short height I'd always end up with trousers that were too long for me and the ends of the legs would get torn up from being caught under my shoes. My mum did try adjusting my clothes occasionally but when you're a growing kid (well, as much growing as a shorty can do :P) you can only mess with the clothes so much. XD
As a short person, I'd say it sucks being short too and most clothes are too long, which causes tripping and it makes things look frumpy and unflattering. Plus, some petite sizes are too tight and cause pain, due to squeezing. I'm quite skinny, but have broad shoulders and thickish thighs. I think regardless of being short or tall, there are just always problems. Clothes are just not made for us, I guess. Can't seem to win either way.
